They are negotiating behind closed doors, wailers are running their mouths on social media. Twitter made its largest profit this half year, despite the ban. Go and check. And people were still tweeting using VPN.... Twitter didn't lose anything. Your own Naija people did!! |

OneTemplate: I personally think it is only a stupid person that will make this about Lai Mohammed and not about Nigeria and her real asset worth most distracted and BBN-focused young Nigerians are ignorant of.
Some Nigerians, based on their personal perspective, love to think Nigeria is worthless and of no use to anything or anyone. Crass, self-limiting and self-destructive ignorance. It is about Lai Mohammed and his stuvpidity. Twitter gave clear reasons from the onset, why the refused to have an office in Nigeria. Those reasons were as clear as day. At the end of the day, didn't this government prove that Twitter's reasons for refusing to open an office here were valid?? The Gestapo illogical knee jerk reaction, that made the government ban Twitter, shows how clearly clueless the government is. The president's tweet was deleted, and they banned Twitter immediately, without thinking of the implications on commerce, and businesses run by millions of Nigerians. What backward mor'ons are in charge of our affairs? Most tech jobs are done remotely. Of what use will a Twitter office be in Nigeria? How much taxes will they pay, that is so huge in the FG's eyes? Twitter Action Report for last quarter, shows that this government never even followed the proper channels, to express their grievances and seek redress or deletion of any tweet, that was against national security. Other nations like France, US, Russia and India did so.....and the offensive tweets were taken down. But our own government like a spoilt, entitled opinionated toddler, banned them. A ban that was quickly circumvented by people who used VPN. The bad signal sent to the rest of the world, by government's illogical actions, cannot be quantified. That is why they will keep messing up your people outside the shores of this country, because your government always takes stewpid decisions that tarnish the respect of this nation. |

royalair: I am a core Nissan/Infiniti user . The murano series are problematic. So far soo good most rugged Nissan product is the pathfinder 2001-2002 and Nissan xterra. The dealer too wasn't honest, that vehicle had lots of fault. You would have checked the vehicle before buying I used my Nissan Xterra for 9 good years, almost 10 years, after I bought it in 2009. I had to sell it off, to buy a newer model of the same Xterra. My old Xterra 2002 model which I used for years was a tough, reliable and rugged breed. I drove it on different types of terrain from sandy places to Rocky slopes. It performed. The 2007 model which I now bought later, isn't even as rugged as the old model. But it still performs fairly well. The parts are not as expensive as the Toyota SUV brands, but the Nissan works just as well as other Japanese brands. |

To the end of TRUTH
To unravel the lies that have been used to cement hate against Awolowo and the Yoruba people
Lies about Awolowo and the Indigenization decree of 1972. Immediately after the war in 1970 Awolowo wrote to Gowon giving resignation notice and left the Government early in 1971 to be replaced by Alhaji Shehu Shagari. He had nothing to do with it . Yet folk like Chimamanda Adichie have come out to say "my uncle told me...........blah blah blah Well we cannot allow a false version of history to go unchallenged.
Rather than using abusive language and sentiments speak to the Twenty Pound issue.
The simple claim that
Money belonging to Ibos held in their bank accounts in Nigeria was at any time seized by the government
IS UNTRUE> IT IS A BLATANT LIE
This is not about "winning" just setting the record and history straight.
Just like the Fulani go around with their cattle for years and then one day wake up and start claiming grazing route in Enugu saying "my uncle told me.......
That is the issue on this thread not all that nonsense you are bringing up
Did anyone seize Ibo money? When where and how? I had even forgotten that this thread existed....wow!! You should write a book about this whole thing. People need to have hard copies of the whole story, and learn how this matter was thrashed out in this thread, in order to put an end to the propaganda that has been recycled all through the past few decades. Internet platforms can go down. Posts can even be expunged if sites are hacked. But 10,000 hardcover written books published and circulated in print will go far and can serve as back up references which can be cited anywhere. The Truth will always remain the Truth..... |

Lagos roads are the least bike (or scooter) friendly ones I agree. But it's not as unsafe as you think. You people know how to mislead others. You claim "It is not as unsafe as you think?" Are you okay? Go to Igbobi Orthopedic band ask them they number of okada accident victims that they see on a daily basis. Go to other hospitals in Lagos and see those maimed after being injured in bike accidents. So what da heck makes you think a scooter will now be safer than an Okada, from other road users?? ReligiousCritic: To further strengthen the drive for a multi-modal transport system, Governor Sanwo-Olu launched the Uber Boat water transportation service, a partnership between the global ride-hailing company and the Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, which is exploring the state’s abundant waterways and, thereby, reducing the pressure on roads. Similarly, the Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) launched its commercial operations in February. In its fleet are 14 boats with a capacity of between 30 and 60 passengers. Apart from the Badore Ferry Terminal in Ajah, other modern jetties are being built in Ijegun, Badagry, Lekki, and Ajegunle.
Significantly, to improve traffic management and transportation, the Blue Line Mass Transit Rail project, which started in 2009, has been revived with the completion of the sea-crossing track. You people can LIE!! Which Uber boat are you talking about? The one they made noise about, which is just used for decoration at Falomo jetty? When was the last time it went on a regular scheduled trip? As for LAGFERRY ehn, may the lives of those who work in that organisation, resemble the traffic jam on Lekki-Epe express road. They have refused to run regular boat trips between Falomo and Lekki, every hour. Instead they carried all boats to Ikorodu, as if it is only Ikorodu people that deserve water transport, and the people in Lekki do not. 3rd mainland bridge is bring shut down. Any sensible logistics person in LAGFERRY, should realise that it is now a good time, to run regular boat services from Falomo to Oworonshoki. But no, they have turned deaf ears to the please of commuters on that route. As for that railway line they have been building for nearly 20 years that has refused to see the light of day, they should just keep quiet about it. That thing can never see the light of day. It has become a bottomless pit, that swallows money without anything to show for it. |

Elxandre: Actually, EVs are way cheaper than petrol usage. I recently took a closer look and was shocked by how cheaper it was to charge compared to fueling. A single full charge can go for weeks of regular daily commute. Even a couple of hours charge could last for a week in some models. And the uranium which is used for the EV batteries which is already causing degradation of the environment in many countries, where uranium is mined? How is that going to be fixed? Even the cost of charging EVs in Nigeria is unlikely to be cheaper than cost of petrol, as electricity supply is very erratic and not constant. So people will rely on generators to charge EV. Isn't petrol or diesel going to b used to fuel those generators that will be used to charge the EVs? What is the cost of such petrol per litre, and how many kilowatts of electricity will be delivered by such generators to charge the EV? Not only that, EVs are far more expensive than ordinary petrol vehicles. |
