Only a propagandists will worry about being ridiculed by facts.

So why the need by Igbos who suffer from inferiority to falsely claim it is a city all along?

Are they backward negros for making false claims to a city when they could have their town equipped with all that is necessary and still be contented with the description of "town"?

Thanks to Forbes for not calling a butterfly a bird.
That Forbes article was not well researched in my humble opinion. What was all that story about using Ojukwu's Rolls Royce to chauffeur the Queen around during her visit?

sorry, Forbes magazine is more trusted and more acceptable than your ibadan media.
No, in this case the Igbo writer of that article in Forbes made a blunder, by rushing to press without crosschecking the facts of his story.

I respect Nigerian local content act, but that action (though disgraceful) show that with or without LADOL Samsung will excute the project. In "Odita described the action as disgraceful, stressing, “they used LADOL to obtain what they wanted and as soon as they thought LADOL was no longer necessary for their operations, they tried to kick them out which is entirely improper and indeed disgraceful.”
That was just an opinion, given by Odita. He is not the final authority on anything. undecided Federal govt has stepped into the matter and Samsung cannot execute anything without going through LADOL, or another fully-qualified Nigerian company to carry out this project, as long as the fabrication and component parts of the project are going to be done on our shores.

In fact, in March 2017 just earlier this year, an update on the whole project was published in the media to show that LADOL had started work on the project.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Simbi Kesiye Wabote has applauded the pace of work at the Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics base (LADOL), stressing that he will be on hand to inaugurate the Egina FPSO in the fourth quarter of this year.

Wabote stated this in Lagos when he led a team of his officials and other top industry service providers and international oil companies (IOCs) on a facility tour of the base at the Apapa Ports Complex, Lagos.

LADOL is currently playing host to the fabrication of a $3.8 billion oil and gas logistics service facility commonly known as the Floating Production Storage and Offloading –FPSO rig, otherwise called the Egina project.

The project which has been applauded as first -of- its- kind in the sub-Saharan Africa is being handled by the Korea-based Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) on behalf of Total Oil Exploration, with LADOL serving as its local content partner. He said the indigenous oil and gas logistics service provider is a testimony of the success story of local content laws in Nigeria. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/03/10/ncdmb-to-flag-off-egina-project-in-q4-applauds-ladol-compliance-to-local-content/

Ignoramus read more about Ladol and SHI contract on Egina by Fidelis Odita, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and counsel to LADOL
Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), which operates the Oil Mining Lease (OML) 130 block, had been given the required approval by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), regulators of the country’s oil industry, for the award of the main Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts for the development of the multibillion-dollar Egina oil field, and Samsung, riding on the back of its partnership with LADOL, in compliance with the local content act, won the $3.1 billion contract in 2013.

Samsung within the framework of Nigerian Local Content Laws, which require that the minimum content in that contract executed within Nigeria, found a suitable partner in LADOL, the first indigenous privately owned offshore logistics base operated in Taqwa Bay, where the FPSO integration and fabrication is to be done.

“It was a joint venture in which Samsung was a senior joint venture partner and LADOL was the junior partner, Fidelis Odita, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and counsel to LADOL told Ventures Africa while the suit was ongoing. “They bided for and obtained the general contract, but as soon as they got it, Samsung wanted to appropriate the entity of the benefit following from that contract to itself to the exclusion of LADOL, which to put it mildly, is a show of bad faith.”

Irked by Samsung’s ‘excuses’ following the award of the contract, Odita described the action as disgraceful, stressing, “they used LADOL to obtain what they wanted and as soon as they thought LADOL was no longer necessary for their operations, they tried to kick them out which is entirely improper and indeed disgraceful.”
Scholes007:
grin grin grin so much for the largest local firm.
You guys are really out of touch! shocked LADOL fought back, took the case to court and appealed to federal govt authorities, and won the job back based on the Local Content Act. Samsung's action was regarded to have violated the local content act that was enacted by the govt. Go and check!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agbami_Field
In order for you to get more understanding about a subject, please consult a wide variety of sources. undecided There is no oil block or oil field, in which NNPC does not have a minority stake. NNPC always holds the govt interest in that oil field by virtue of the Petroleum Act 1969. So owners of most oil block usually hold between 50% to 70% of the oil block, while the rest is shared between NNPC and the operators. sad

The Petroleum Act, 1969 with comprehensive provisions on exploration, production and transportation. The Act vested ownership of petroleum resources in the Federal Government of Nigeria and is the primary legislation on petroleum activities to date. https://dpr.gov.ng/index/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/2014-Oil-Gas-Industry-Annual-Report-.pdf
Even blocks owned by the multinationals are done as a joint venture. So in many cases, you would find the shareholding structure as follows: Shell 60% - NNPC 40%, or Mobil 65% - NNPC 35%, Chevron 60% - NNPC 40% etc.

Now, the Agbami oil field stretches across 45,000 acres and is located some 70 miles (113 kilometers) offshore the Niger River Delta. Situated on Nigerian Blocks OML 127 and 128, Agbami's water depth is 4,500 feet (1,372 meters).

OML 127 is owned by Famfa Oil, which is the oil firm owned by the Alakijas. As usual, NNPC owns a minority stake in it. Chevron(through its subsidiary Star Deep Petroleum Limited) is the operator of that oil field, because it has the technical expertise and equipment, to carry out drilling activities on behalf of Famfa. undecided

OML 128 is owned by Statoil as it has a Production Sharing Contract, with NNPC. Statoil does not have any interest or shares in the oil field OML 127 owned by the Alakija's company known as Famfa. Petroleo Brasileiro Nigeria Limited (Petrobras) is also part of OML 128 along with Statoil. sad

Now, Agbami FPSO was constructed to serve as a floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for the area covering the two oil fields. The entire area called Agbami oil field is made up of OML 127 (owned by Famfa/NNPC), and OML 128 (owned by Statoil & Petrobras/NNPC). The operators across both oil fields are Chevron & Texaco Upstream. undecided

Agbami Field is an oil field in Nigeria. Discovered in late 1998, it was the second major deepwater oil field discovered off the Niger Delta, the first being Bonga Field by Shell.

[b]The field is located in nearly 1,500 meters (4,900 ft) of water off the central Niger Delta. The operator of the field is Star Deep Water Limited, an affiliate of Chevron. Also involved in the field are Famfa Oil, an indigenous oil company owned by the Alakija Family of Lagos, Petrobras (Brazil), Statoil, and NNPC (the national oil company of Nigeria)

Production

Production began in 2008 at over 70,000 barrels per day (11,000 m3/d) with peak production estimated to be at approximately 250,000 bls/d. The Floating Production unit is the length of three football fields and cost over $US4 billion to build.

Hubert Adedeji Ogunde, (1916 —1990), was a Nigerian playwright, actor, theatre manager, and musician. An ardent lover of the performing arts, he was a pioneer of Nigerian folk opera (i.e. drama in which music and dancing play a significant role). His theatre group was known as the Ogunde Concert Party at inception in 1945. It was the first professional, theatrical company in Nigeria.

Hubert Ogunde is regarded as the father of Nigerian theatre. As a multi-talented thespian, Ogunde's activities ignited interest in his country’s indigenous culture.

Ogunde’s first folk opera, The Garden of Eden and the Throne of God, received great accolades in 1944, when it was staged. At that time, he was still a member of the Nigerian Police Force. It was produced under the patronage of an African Protestant sect, and it mixed biblical themes with the traditions of Yoruba dance-drama.

Another of his works titled Strike and Hunger (performed 1946), re-enacted the general strike of 1945, as its' dramatic theme. In 1946 the name of Ogunde’s group was changed to the African Music Research Party, and in 1947 it became the Ogunde Theatre Company.

Many of Ogunde’s early plays were attacks on colonialism, while those of his later works with political themes deplored inter-party strife and government corruption within Nigeria. Yoruba theatre became secularized, through his careful blending of astute political or social satire, with elements of music hall routines and slapstick.

Ogunde’s most famous play, Yoruba Ronu (i.e. “Yorubas, Think!”), was performed in 1964. It was perceived as an indictment on the premier of Nigeria’s Western region at that time. The outcome was that his theatre group and its' productions were banned from the region—the first instance in post-independence Nigeria of literary censorship. The ban was lifted in 1966 by Nigeria’s new military government, and in that same year the Ogunde Dance Company was formed. Otito Koro meaning “Truth is Bitter” was performed in 1965. It was also a satirical commentary on political events in western Nigeria in 1963. An earlier play produced in 1946, The Tiger’s Empire, also marked the first time in the Yoruba theatre industry, that women would appear in a play as professional artists, in their own right.

Ogunde’s technique was to sketch out the basic situation and plot, and then write down and rehearse only the songs of his plays. The dialogue was improvised, thus allowing the actors to adjust to their audience. The plays produced by his company usually reflected the prevailing political climate and interpreted for audiences the major issues and the aspirations of those in power.

His company performed with equal ease in remote villages and in metropolitan centres of Nigeria (as well as throughout West Africa). Many of Ogunde’s later folk operas were basically popular musicals featuring jazzy rhythms, fashionable dance routines, and contemporary satire. Through this format, he set an example for a successful commercial theatre and prepared audiences all over Nigeria for his followers. During the 1960s and ’70s his plays became an important part of the urban pop culture of West Africa. https://www.britannica.com/biography/Hubert-Ogunde
https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Hubert-Ogunde.jpg

Apart from writing & producing several stage plays, Chief Hubert Ogunde also produced films in his indigenous language, Yoruba - but subtitled them in English. His feature-length films included Ija Ominira and Ajani Ogun, Aiye, Jaiyesinmi etc. He released three more feature-length films influenced by Yoruba mysticism. In 1990, Ogunde acted in Mister Johnson, a 1990 American drama film based on the 1939 novel by Joyce Cary, which featured British top actor, Pierce Brosnan who would later play the part of James Bond, several years down the line. Hubert Ogunde was born in Ososa in Ogun State, but died in London England in 1990.

Yorubas when will you stop being stupid? When will you choose to have a voice of your own? When will you stop this ass-snuffing you daily do to the Fulanis?
The Hausa /Fulani will insult you but you will prefer to vet your anger on the innocent Igbo man. The Hausa/Fulani will massacre your brothers and sisters without any provocation in their hundreds even in your own soil, yet you will prefer to delusionally claim it is the Igbo man that is causing the trouble.
The Hausa/Fulani have repeatedly echo it that they hate you with passion and that you are not to be trusted, yet you will always find a way to appease them even if it takes you insulting your own elders like FFK, Fayose and Odumakin who work tirelessly to give the yoruba race a voice, why? Is this to b called an act of cowardice or stupidity? Even the Hausa/Fulani's could testify to this as it amaze one of their posters in a thread I went through.
In every anti-igbo news, you are there hurling insults. Believe you me, Igbos and the Niger-deltans remain the best ally you should crave to have as it is obvious that this country is dying and the probability of it recovering is almost zero.
You can hate him as much as you can, but fact remains that Nnamdi Kanu has affect and effect Nigeria with his crusades that things will never remain thesame again and when the chips are down, his name will never be forgotten again.
The Hausa sang a hate filled song against the Igbo's. Have you ever thought that a retaliatory song may also emanate from the Igbos who have far better world acclaim singers? When that happens, do you know it could lead to something we are all praying to avoid?
Talking of war, you really think the almajiris will exempt the Yorubas?
As for the quit notice to the Igbo, do you really think igbos in the North will be forcefully evicted from the north and the northerners will still remain comfortably in places like PH, Benin, Uyo, Yenegoa, Asaba etc?
Well, I am not saying this for you to love the igbos but for you to think twice and carve your own destiny for yourselves and your offsprings.

Hey, I nor be Igbo o. I be 24 carat Edo guy who hates injustice but loves equity
You are an Edo guy, and yet you are taking double dose of panadol for someone else's headache? shocked Why? huh In what way are the Yorubas stupid, if I may ask?

Is it because they do not rush blindly into any activity, without sitting to count the cost first? Is it because they are thoughtful, strategic and methodical in their actions, especially when it concerns the political interest of their people? shocked

Is it because they do not rush in blindly into places, where even angels fear to tread? Or is it because they can harness their collective strength to play the politics of opposition, in order to eventually get what they want without firing a single shot?

Is it also because they can build bridges across ethnic divides, in order to achieve their goals instead of employing brash, unruly, divisive collective behaviour that alienates their friends and foes, like our SE friends are fond of doing? sad

By the way, who told you that the IPOBian Igbo man, is innocent? Have you listened to Nnamdi Kanu and his supporters when they address other ethnic groups? Haven't you heard their hate speeches, bile, vile epithets and insults that they launch at members of other ethnic groups, who do not share their views? Who were the first set of people to call Nigeria a zoo? Or to refer to those in it as animals? So you expect those at the receiving end of their insults to keep quiet? Na who be mumu? shocked Where is it written that in order to win supporters to your cause, you must first insult them? shocked They are just reaping the fruits of their uncouth language and hate speech they sowed in the recent past via Radio Biafra and other media.

Oga, take time out to understand the way the Yorubas play their politics o, before you jump into any conclusion! undecided As a person from a minority tribe, I have often been interested in how they eventually get things to work in their favour in the long run, without others being aware of it, until it is too late. cheesy You should take time out to study them, too.

But I must confess that coming from an Edo man, that you claim to be, your remarks have truly disappointed me. Anyway, no wahala. You are entitled to your views. undecided Kindly just remember that the freedom to swing your arms, ends where another person's nose, begins!

That any future constitutional arrangement will be worked out by representatives of the people of Nigeria. That the Republic of Biafra hereby ceases to exist."

At the time of the surrender, Effiong believed that the situation was hopeless and that prolonging the conflict would have led only to the further destruction and starvation of the people of Biafra. Aiteo, an indigenous oil firm, made the headlines penultimate week; basking in the euphoria of its new status as the biggest Nigerian- owned oil firm in terms of production, hitherto known by many as the petroleum product trading firm, it announced the production of the largest share of the 313,602 barrels per day output from indigenous companies.

The firm’s management cannot be blamed for flaunting its new status as the oil industry is battling with cash crunch and little or nothing was expected from the local firms who are the worse-hit by the crisis.

Aiteo is not alone, a few other firms put up sterling performances, even though they still ranked far below the 77,000 barrels per day production figure of Aiteo . The sad aspect is that tens of indigenous firms are faced with bankruptcy while their productions are near to nothing.

Investing in Nigeria’s future

On April 1, 2015, the media was awash with news that the ownership of OML 29 had been formally transferred from Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) to Aiteo Group.

This information was dismissed by many industry watchers and stakeholders, considering that the divestment programme of the oil major, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), had not been without controversies and rumours of litigations.

On the other hand, IOCs, which have indelibly etched their names in gold and local investors who play big globally had not only shown keen interest in the divestment offer, they had submitted seemingly irresistible bids to corner it.

As such, Aiteo Group was not reckoned with by bookmakers. But a document by Aiteo revealed: “But with conviction in its impeccable track record of safe, reliable and environmentally conscious energy development and a clear vision for the future, Aiteo snapped up a 45per cent stake in one of Nigeria’s largest onshore oil blocks, in addition to the Nembe Creek Trunk Line, which marked a turning point in oil and gas business in Nigeria. Thus, Aiteo secured the potential to hold as much as 300 million cubic feet of gas and 2.2 billion barrels of oil.

“From when they first indicated interest in the lease, the owners and managers of Aiteo Group were unmistakable about their commitment and bold ambition to be a major part of the world’s energy solution.

The march towards that global vision was gradual, steady and without any publicity stunts. The leadership, management and staff of Aiteo rolled up their sleeves and went to work in silence.

The result of those quiet efforts came out resoundingly when, a few days ago, Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company Limited (AEEPCo) announced a peak production of 90,000 barrels per day less than one year into the operatorship of the reputedly largest onshore oil bloc OML 29.

Agog with excitement hidden beneath journalistic curiosity, pressmen have lately turned the headquarters of the integrated energy company to a Mecca of some sort, as they besiege its officials to know how Aiteo has been able to break into the league of big players within such a short period.

This is no mean feat when considering that SPDC could barely produce 23,000bpd prior to the divestment.

“Top among Aiteo’s landmark achievements since its foray into the upstream sector is the production of 90,000bpd. In 2016, the company traded petroleum products worth over $11 billion.

Only recently, it announced a further $4 billion medium-term investment aimed at boosting both gas and oil output by, amongst other tactics, bolstering infrastructure asset.”

Aiteo, the document explained, has not only risen to be Nigeria’s largest indigenous oil producers with ownership and operation of petroleum storage facilities in Lagos and Port-Harcourt, including the Abonnema Storage Terminal with total capacity of over 110 million litres, the company also holds the second spot in petroleum products tankage in Nigeria.
Did you read this article at all before you posted it? huh Do you realise that it corroborates what Deomelo and I have been saying all along? It is clearly stated in there that "Aiteo’s landmark achievements since its foray into the upstream sector is the production of 90,000bpd." Now, compare this figure to the 200,000 bpd being produced by Famfa since 2009! It is clear that Famfa's output outstrips Aiteo's output, by a huge margin! shocked

Secondly, it states that "the company also holds the second spot in petroleum products tankage in Nigeria." undecided Now, who holds the first spot in petroleum products tankage, if Aiteo holds the second spot? Can you guess?

I know you are too dumb to remember the genesis of your argument huh Let me remind you

Oboy what is current production output pd from those companies you listed not estimated value huh your people are noise makers,
On Ladol , I once worked with NAPIMS at Bayokuku Ikoyi office, I have visited LADOL several times and I know the slim lady in charge, one thing with your people you make loudest noise when you achieve little, you can't compare Ladol to oilserv, Nesthak, chrome group in oil servicing, stop deceiving yourselves from what Lagos medias are feeding you
The FPSO vessel fabrication and integration facility- currently being operated by SHI-MCI FZE, it's a joint venture between Samsung Heavy Industries and LADOL's shipyard operator, Mega-Construction and Integration FZE.

Nigeria’s indigenous oil operators plan to increase production by 60 percent in 2018

Current output breakdown showed that Aiteo, Eroton, NPDC, Oriental, Seplat produce 77,000 barrels per day, bpd 54,000 bpd, 42,654 bpd, 24, 000bpd, and 21,881bpd respectively. Newcross, Midwestern, Belemaoil, Amni, Conoil, Niger Delta, Walter Smith and Erin Energy produce 20,000 bpd, 13,000 bpd, 12,000 bpd, 11, 000 bpd, 9, 130 bpd, 7,000 bpd, 5, 837 bpd and 5,000 bpd. Others – Energia, Moni Pulo, Prime Energy, Platform and Pillar Oil – also produce 4,500 bpd, 3, 200 bpd, I, 200 bpd, 1, 100 bpd and 1, 100 bpd respectively.

Do you know your problem? sad You have very little knowledge of the oil industry, and the companies whose assets you are trying to use to score cheap points. You are using an outdated document, to try and look good. Unfortunately, you have shot yourself in the foot again.

Have you ever heard of Agbami oil field? huh Well, it is one of the most prolific fields in the offshore areas of Nigeria. Guess what? It's OML 127 is owned by Famfa oil. And Famfa Oil is owned by the Alakijas (i.e. Folorunsho Alakija and her husband Modu Alakija). undecided They have signed a technical services agreement with Chevron to help them operate that field. It is for the same Agbami, that an FPSO contract was issued to Samsung & Ladol. That FPSO will store the oil being produced from Agbami. undecided

Now, shey you are still following the tutorial? Agbami oil field better known as OML127 & 128, currently produces over 200,000 barrels per day. Compare that with the 77,000 barrels per day, that Aiteo currently produces. Now, let me ask you a little question. Between Famfa and Aiteo, which company produces a greater amount of crude oil? shocked

Daily production at OML 127 currently stands at 200,000 barrels per day. When the Nigerian government, through its wholly-owned petroleum company, NNPC, was trying to justify its forceful acquisition of a 50 percent stake in OML 127 at the Supreme court, the Government admitted that if Famfa Oil owned a 60 percent stake in the OML, the company stood to earn $10 million on a daily basis (after taxes and other exploration costs have been settled). The government’s argument at the Supreme Court can be found through this link, (item number 23). http://venturesafrica.com/the-richest-black-woman-in-the-world-folorunsho-alakija/

'Electronic franchise,' indeed! undecided You were shouting about how well your people 'manufacture' everything, now you have changed your tune, and started talking about franchise. Na wa for una. sad Is that the new name you coined for importation and sales of generators and motorcycle parts? Because that is what Ezechuddy does, with Summec & Firman generators. He does not manufacture, or even assemble them. All he does, is to import and sell those gensets, to as many people as possible.

The IRA or Irish republican Army for years terrorized the UK with their agenda to break away from the UK and join the Republic of Ireland. Why has there not been a referendum in Northern Ireland but there has been in Scotland where there was no violence. ? After many years of bombings the IRA were forced to push their agenda through elections and consistently have failed to secure a majority in the devolved government. Rather the Pro-Union Democratic Union Party DUP have won all elections and they reject calls for referendums.

The IRA are like IPOB full of sound and fury but no substance. If you want to leave you must push that agenda through a political party. IPOB should form a party ,contest for Senate and House of Representatives and when they win those seats refuse to sit and boycott the institutions. The IRA party Sinn Fein does not want to be merged with England in the UK .Its elected MPs to London refuse to swear an oath of allegiance to the Queen and so they never take their few Westminister seats even though they are a minority compared to the ProUnion Democratic Union Party DUP.

Today the Government at Westmnster is a coalition between the Conservatives and the DUP. Back home in Belfast in the local government the DUP dominate snd so there has bee no call for referendum Despite the fact that the IRA were for years very destructive and as a result Northern Ireland was essentially occupied by the British Army as a result. When push came to shove the IRA was not as popular as it believed.

In summary REFERENDUM WILL NEVER HAPPEN via street protests but through politics and elections. Elect IPOB Senators and Governors then we will take you seriously. Stop pretending to yourselves that other Nigerians don't want you to leave
