a). In what part behind the Monastery in Lekki exactly, is it located? b). What kind of title does it have? Is it C of O, Excision or Gazette? c). What is the plot size? d). Is the area sandy or waterlogged? e). Is the area ready for immediate development (i.e. can you buy it today, start building tomorrow and move in once it is completed?) f). Is the road leading to the site tarred?? |

pazienza: Not all Igbanke clans have their leader with the Enogie title, some retained their Eze title- Fact.
Enogie title was forced on Igbanke by Edos and the people wish to revert back to their original Eze and Obi titles- Fact
The presence of Bini names amongst Igbankes is as a result of forceful assimilation of the People by Edo, and would gradually be replaced with Ika- Igbo ones the moment Igbanke is freed from Edo influence by returning them to Delta state- Fact All your attempts at revisionism is falling flat in its face. Igbanke is made up of 6 clans. Name all the Igbanke communities (not just one) that have an Eze ruling them. Historically, Igbanke is made up of six autonomous communities namely of Omolua, Ottah, Idumuodin, Ake, Oligia and Igbontor. Each of the six communities has an Enogie as a king. I can tell you four of the clans that already have Enogies, as their kings. HRH Dr Isaac Uwaifo, is the Enogie of Omolua. Another one is HRH Blessing Otabor Igiebor, the Enogie of Idumodin in Igbanke. http://www.ikaworld.com/index.php?mod=article&cat=IkaNews&article=1001Updated: The Enogie of Igbontor is HRH Jeremiah Omorodion; and Enogie of Ottah-Igbanke, HRH J.C. pazienza: There is no one side of the story, Enogie only exists in some Igbanke clans because the Edo had been forcefully trying to assimilate the people, the original Igbanke word for King is Eze or Obi, Enogie is a result of Bini forceful occupation and attempt at assimilation of the area. 4) Igbanke is made up of six (6) autonomous clans: Ake/Obiogba, Idumu-Odin, Igbontor, Oligie, Omolua and Ottah. These clans were governed by traditional rulers called ‘’Eze or Obi’’. These terms were of Ika origin, but have been forcefully changed to ‘’Enogie’’ a Bini term by the conquering Binis. 5) Our ancestral heritage like language, names and beliefs are being systematically destroyed by the domineering power of the Binis. ARGUMENTS IN SUPPORT OF ISSUES RAISED 1)Most Igbanke indigenes who have Ika ancestral names like, “Emeka”, “Maduka”, “Chukwuka’’, “Chinyere”, “Amaka and “Ogorchukwu etc are often confronted with all forms of harrowing experiences when there are needs to visit our council headquarters, Abudu to process one official documents or the other. We are often denied the issuance of documents like, ‘’Certificate of Local Government of origin’’, Protest Letter’’, To Whom it May Concern’’ etc on the guise that we are Igbos not Binis. https://naijadebate./2014/12/10/a-thread-on-the-history-of-the-igbanke-people-of-edo-state/ Well, they say they are not Igbos, but atle Your errors have been pointed out but you are still recycling the same one-sided story you quoted from your source. The Igbanke people have Enogies as their kings. They may have been named Eze or Obi in the past, but right now their titles are Enogie, which are Bini titles. Fact! Igbanke sons and daughters bear both Edo and Igbo names, not just Igbo names like you are trying to portray here. Fact! Their rulers or Enogie bear Edo names! Fact!So stop telling a one-sided story, that is skewed to fit your biased mind. |

I said 'you' can't prove to me that Eyigbemi, if that's the spelling is Akenzua's child's name.
"He was my classmate" is no proof.
The name not on Google could be an indication that the name is not used by anybody of note. Oga, the spelling is 100% percent correct! No doubt about that. Every child in my school was taught to spell not just his own name correctly, but those of his classmates. I was often selected to write down the names of the noise makers in my class, and Eyi often tried to bribe me with groundnut & popcorn, to remove his name from the list! |

Well, they say they are not Igbos, but atleast their original names and traditional titles says other wise, and they want those names and titles back, while Ogba decided to throw away her traditional Eze title for Oba. Why do you find it difficult to put forward balanced arguments? Your post makes it seem as if the Eze and Obi title is the de facto title of all the Igbanke kings or village heads. So how come a whole Igbanke town union did not acknowledge this so-called fact? And how come the title of Enogie is more prominent in Igbanke than that of Eze? And why do those Enogies have Edo names? Not only that, names like Omorodion, Irabor, Uwaifo are also very prominent among Igbanke sons and daughters. So stop presenting a one-sided story, biko nu!The same Ikaworld site also says the following: Igbanke Now Belongs to The League Azuka Osunde, Germany
Monday, 03.12.2012, 11:29pm (GMT+1)
Igbanke is a town in Orhonmwon Local Govt. with six (6) villages independent of the other with each village headed by an Enogie (King). Igbanke has produced men and women in (big) positions in all works of life, like Emman Decency, Justice Olubor, Osunde, Eni, Ucheka Eluhike, Ogbomor, Irabor Ken, Omo Disco, KOB, Ben Oghumu, Gabi Edobor, Late Benson Idahosa etc.
Igbanke is said to be the birth place of Dr. Ogbemudia. So we had some development in his time like the Local Library, Igbanke Grammar School, and the General Hospital. The Post office was built by the locals with their money and donated to the government in his time. But since he left government as a military ruler, the people of Igbanke have been left alone to lick their wounds..... http://www.ikaworld.com/index.php?mod=article&cat=IkaArticles&article=1064 |

That is at the kingship level. http://universitiesprojectmaterials.com/english-language/98/satire-in-the-oral-poetry-of-igbanke This is a project by one student in a university! And you chose to believe it, without checking if his comments were factual or if he cited any sources to corroborate his statements! Jeez! A lot of your kinsmen on Nairaland have labelled him as 'Yoruba.' Now, who do we believe, hmmn?? pazienza: As close as Igbanke in Edo state is to Bini, the Igbanke people still retained their Eze title, but Ogba that is in no way close to Edo made up frivolous history stories linking them to Bini, and went on to add salt to injury by changing the name of their monarch from Eze to Oba. Well, that is not the way I heard the story of the Igbanke people, oh. Kindly find below a short synopsis about the community. It was published online by one of their towns' union, abroad. Igbanke National Union: Nigeria: Igbanke Community's Search for Better Healthcare Delivery By Isaac Olamika, Benin
A trip to Igbanke from Ring Road, the commercial nerve centre of Benin City, the Edo State capital, will take at least one hour. For a first time visitor, the signpost to the town which lies in Orhionmwon Local Government Area on the Benin - Asaba Express Road is the Light House Polytechnic; a tertiary institution owned the New Covenant Church. Just opposite the institution's gate is the road that leads to the town.
Historically, Igbanke is made up of six autonomous communities namely: Omolua, Ottah, Idumuodin, Ake, Oligia and Igbontor. Each of the six communities has an Enogie - king. The indigenes of the town trace their history to Benin kingdom where they disclosed they migrated from many decades ago. The language spoken in Igbanke sounds similar to the one spoken by their neighbours, the people of Agbor and some of the surrounding towns in the northern part of Delta State. http://www.igbankenationalunion.com/ |

What are the Yoruba names of Oba Akenzua's children? Well, I went to school with one - Eyigbemi Iredia Akenzua. Strangely enough, all his brothers and sisters, (except for the eldest) had Yoruba first names. Their middle names were Bini, though. |

I just consider all what they say as vital lies, a psychological term for lies we tell ourselves to cope with reality. In reality, things aren't looking too good for them, so they have to keep repeating these lies, and shouting it till they start believing it, thinking that will give them a measure of comfort and happiness. The sad part is, they are beginning to believe these lies, and losing touch with reality. Next time you see one of their lies, just pity them, no need arguing with them, well, maybe just for the fun sha, you can indulge yourself. If people keep repeating falsehood, and you do not counter it with truth, sooner or later others will come to accept such falsehood, as 'facts'. |
