Nice and honest review, the only problem with the phone is d name, they can't call it Redmi 8 when redmi 7 is much better,

With Redmi 7 u are sure of Android 10, better processor and GPU.
And can shoot video @60fps.. I don't know why d name it Redmi 8 when its a downgrade of Redmi 7....

This is true. Who even knows the thought process these companies use to make these decisions. Even the 7 is a lot more expensive than the 8.

Jobs/Vacancies / Getting A Job In Nigeria Made Easy by LayGiri: 6:12pm On Sep 13, 2015
So you ever wondered why it just seems like some people are followed around by the ultimate job guardian angel or something like that. Well, it’s quite simple really, Nigeria as a country demands a lot more from the average person than any other country in the world. You have to be ready and willing to go a thousand miles extra and then some to get what anyone will get pretty easily in a more structured country. The job - employment situation of the country is a total mess and it is not going to be getting better anytime soon. Corruption has destroyed everything but regardless of all these, some people are still getting good jobs, moving from great jobs to even better jobs even. Do they have two heads? Let us discuss how they make this happen and maybe later we talking about job listing boards like Joblanda.

As previously mentioned, you have to be ready to go the extra mile and then some. Calling that working hard will be grossly understated so I would not. You need to work extreme and work smart. Getting jobs in Nigeria is not a big deal to some because they have already invested very well in themselves. For example, you go for a job interview where the requirements are A,B & C, the guy next to you not only has A, B & C, he also has D,E,F,G,I,J,K…. and he brought all his incredibly value added skills along with him to the interview. But then you only showed up with the minimum requirements and you somehow expect that job will be yours if you pray hard enough? It does not work like that at all.
Rule of thumb, no skill acquired and learnt outside the minimum requirement is a waste. Always look to improve yourself and make yourself better at everything as often as possible! If it applies, or not, learn it. Make sure you are able to offer that added value to an employer some day because yes, there will be times when your Nigerian boss will ask that you do more than you signed up for and you have to be ready to do this with a huge smile.

This is only one of many factors that would better help you in your haunt for a good job. You can read about Job hunting here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_hunting might give you a basic image of requirements. Now multiply that by 100 because you are in Nigeria. Happy Job hunting.

Webmasters / User Experience: How It Affects Your Search Rankings by LayGiri: 10:16am On Aug 31, 2015
A lot of business owners and digital marketers in Nigeria generally do not know (or maybe they choose to ignore) the effects/importance of UX (User Experience) and Site Navigation in the SERP’s (Search Engine Ranking Positions).

Today we are going to discuss at length how exactly you can take advantage of this metric and make it work for you in your own search marketing and website optimization. But first let us make a list of a few things that make up the general user experience for a website.

Site Speed.
Mobile Optimization (Growing Importance).
Site Navigation.
Bounce Rate.
Organization of site content.

Now that we have our list, lets us discuss each individual topic and figure out how you can get it right for your own business.

Site Speed

The beautiful thing about this one is that we can all relate to it one way or the other, no matter how much you love a website, or used to love it – if it runs slowly or way too slowly and there is an alternative running 99% faster we will all leave and use the alternative. And trust me, you don’t want people leaving your website for terrible site speed. In my experience those visitors will never return 70% of the time and beyond that, your “faster” continue reading

Webmasters / How To Pick The Right Gtld Before Bringing Your Nigerian Business Online by LayGiri: 4:07pm On Feb 17, 2015
Many Nigerian businesses and business owners are always in a bit of a hurry when creating their first website. This in turn leads to a lot of mistakes owing to lack of research or improper planning.

The most basic of problems you would face when bringing your business online is probably picking the perfect website address, you don’t want it to be too long, too boring or too forgettable. It gets more complicated when you now have to pick GTLD’s.

— A generic top-level domain (gTLD) is one of the categories of top-level domains (TLDs) maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for use in the Domain Name System of the Internet. —

Do you want your website to say .com .ng .net .org .group .school .book or any of the other hundreds of options available to you? How do you decide which of the gTLD’s happen to be the best for your business keeping in mind this is one of the decisions you may have to stick with permanently for proper branding. You don’t want to move your website to a new gTLD every month because you simply discovered a cooler gTLD. NO!

Many will argue .com is the best; it is by far the most popular gTLD and most widely used. Very easy to remember as well so it’s a no brainer right? They may be right in most cases but under some circumstances this may not be the case at all. What happens when your business is only for Nigerians by Nigerians and you truly have no business with international clients in Peru or Australia? Wouldn’t a .ng or .com.ng domain be more suited in this case? CONTINUE READING

Computers / How To Reduce Data Consumption In Windows 8.1 (disable BITS) by LayGiri: 12:23pm On Dec 22, 2014
How To Reduce Data Consumption In Windows 8.1 (Disable BITS)

Yes, so you upgraded your PC to Windows 8.1 and you have noticed you have started consuming 1 gigabyte of data for every 3 hours you are on the internet? Haven downloaded absolutely nothing or streamed nothing. Maybe you are just doing research with your Google or maybe you are just reading Wikipedia. Where did all your data go? Short answer: Windows is swallowing your data and they are not sorry about it.

Maybe you have turned off live tiles on your start screen and done all that and yet you are still burning data, yes Windows is still swallowing your data.

If you came online you would see every tutorial you can find asking you to set your connection as metered, in most cases even this would not work seeing as if you are using dial up/ a modem it is impossible to set it as a “metered connection”. So what is the culprit and how do you fix? How do you stop windows from eating up your expensive data and running you into bankruptcy?

Music/Radio / Download Sound It By Wizkid Produced By Sarz by LayGiri: 9:11pm On Dec 08, 2014
So in case you missed it, Wizkid said he was going to drop a new song every Monday in December! He kicked off the cycle with Wonder last Monday a song that was produced by Del B and finished by Uhuru Kalawa. Wonder was a decent song and I'm pretty sure a lot of Wizkid fans are still dancing to that. But here is the thing, they will forget about that track the moment they get on Sound It produced by Sarz.

Music/Radio / Breaking News: Lil Wayne Wants Out Of Cash Money by LayGiri: 7:48pm On Dec 04, 2014
Uhm, talk about news that will shock you to the core of your humanity, this is the most unbelievable thing I have seen in music controversy in recent times. Tunechi took to his twitter only moments ago to reveal he wants out of Cash Money (and he has for a while judging by how absolutely frustrated he is).
