Outstanding win by the C's. Even after the big lead, I was still skeptical about the Lakers. I would be more than surprised if they had shot as good as they did in the first quarter. Looks like the Celtics have this ring in the bag. The Lakers could sure use some heart now. Feel sorry for those fellas! |

JeSoul:Jesoul, I will encourage you to look at the stats very well. 43-16, is that in one game or throughout the series? Even Sloan agreed that they fouled Kobe alot especially in one particular game with the most free throw disparity. He even told his guys that playing good defense on Kobe doesn't mean fouling him everytime. Look at game 2 very well and you'll see guys pulling Kobe and there were no calls and you just want the coach to be quiet. Yeah right! |

JeSoul:I get ur point but what I was saying was Pop did not coomplain mainly because he knew that was not why they loss. He knew they loss because they've not played good. Pop has complained in the past about other stuff. On the other side, Phil Jackson feels that they did not win mainly because of the foul calls. I mean think about it, LA pretty much evened with Boston in all aspects except in the amount of foul shots they took. 38 - 10 would make any coach complain. I don't care who the coach is. YOu just don't let the officials spend almost 3 hours giving calls against you. It's different from the one call SA did not get. What Phil did was good in that it puts the next set of referees in spot light. That would make them pay more attention to their foul calls. |
JeSoul:The Spurs had no business in that series anyways. They were just as lost against LA as Dallas was against New Orleans. I mean com'on, that series was all LA. Ok, so if the foul would have been called, the game would have gone overtime and then what? Maybe you did not realise that the shot clock violation called against LA in the prior possession was wrong which would have given LA the ball back anyways with the last possession of the game. However, a guy getting like 13 free throws in like 15 mins; com'n, you don't need to be a homer. Let's be sincere with ourselves, the officiating was bad though LA also shot themselves in the foot. It's been fun to see what happens in the next three games. Maybe another Heat and Mavs finals is in the making. |

Fellow nairalanders, just when I thought I wouldn't find a Nigerian blood in sports like Hocket, then somehow I saw this name in Sports Illustrated. His full name is Jarome Arthur-Leigh Adekunle Tig Junior Elvis Iginla. His father is Yoruba and his mum I believe is a Canadian. He is the Captain of Calgary Flames. Wonders shall never end sha. Just thought to let you all know about this guy! |
@Lasiefaire You took the words out of my mouth i think its unfair to totally blame Avery for whats been happening. That Mark Cuban dude is really overdoing it i mean he practically sits on the team sbench sometimes i wonder why Avery did not include him in the team roster sef maybe he should apply for the vacant coaching position if he loves the team so much
I buy that a little bit but not that much. Avery has to take most of the blame. There's a reason why he's called the "Little General". He has too much "X" and "O" and I think he is learning. Yes Cuban has his fault but he doesn't play on the court with the players and neither is he the one telling the players what to do. Take for example, Jerry Jones of the Cowboys. He's just as involved in the Cowboys as Cuban is to the Mavericks. So tell me after 5 championships that the Cowboys are not successful. I just thing it's a combination of faults but mainly Avery's. Too many "X" and "O" and he was trying to make the Mavericks like the Spurs instead of finding an identity that works with the Mavericks. If you notice, the Spurs have bunch of old players just like the Mavericks do now. The Mavericks used to be young and athletic. One thing Avery forgot is the fact that Mavs don't have a PF/C like Duncan that could pound you on the post neither does the Mavs have a defensive specialist like Bowen. How can you all of a sudden dump a system and character that took you to the NBA finals? Now we see the new age of basketball where combination of athletism and defense wins. Just look at New Orleans, they are like Phoenix Suns + defense. The way it looks now, the Spurs would have to use artificial oxygen to keep up with the Hornet's athletism. Players get tired of playing their hearts out on a system that they think would not work. What more kind of fire do you want from them? They double team CP3 and guess what, CP3 finds a way of solving that problem. But because of the "over tacticalness", the players cannot learn to adapt and overcome to actually think for themselves. Think of how many times Devin Harris, JD or JT looks at Avery Johnson during plays just because he wants to call the play. I like Avery but he still in a learning process and I believe years from now he'll be shining in whatever coaching job he has but I believe he still has some learning to do. Dirk is different from Duncan and Howard is different from Bowen. Use what you have to your best ability and get the most out of your players. Plain and simple! |
Well, the news finally came. Avery Johnson is fired. Everything just went down the drains for that team. The question now is who do they hire out there that is better? |
Yeah - I'm happy for him. He deserved it!PS: WE WON! We're on to the next round!
@j-girlGreat job by the Hornets. Maybe if Dallas had played the whole series like they did in the fourth quater today maybe they could have won more than one game. whichever ways they weren't going anywhere. Avery Johnson definitely needs to look at himself closely. I love the way San Antonio does things. They are like the Patriots of basketball. Very very efficient organisation and team. It's be fun though to see a Lakers and Spurs conference finals. I'm sorry but I'll be shocked to see NO beat the Spurs in the next round. I say Spurs in 5. They might be boring but they know how to take care of business. Now I'll like to see how the Zen master and Pop do the coaching thing. The last time I remember Pop was mad at the Zen master because of a move he pulled on them. It seems like the Zen master is the only coach Pop is kind of weary about. NB: Zen Master is the nickname for that old guy that coach Jordan, Shaq and Kobe to championships with the real name Phil Jackson ![]() |
Blood of Jesus! Did you all see what I saw? Boston is lost to ATL oooo! Like play, like play - they are about to tie the series at 2-2. I can honestly say that I'm genuinely shocked. Who would have thought that the #1 team in the Eastern conference will have a hard time sweeping #8? Ha! it's a close one though.
@J-girl I think you meant to say they already tied the series. I'm not surprised though. This is sports. I'll be more surprised to see Dallas beat NO than ATl beating Celtics. Atleast ATL seems like they know what they are doing. I feel like Celtics and ATL series will go to seven games and who knows what could happen in the seventh game |
@j-girl I give up it will take a Daman Miracle for us to get back in this series now it hurts but so far in the series we probably don't deserve to go through.Dirk and Brandon Bass are the only ones playing Jason Kidd and co. have been big time flops but the most disappointing is definitely Josh Howard i think that Mary-J he is smoking is giving him a lot of drama and affecting his ball game as well.If the MAVS let me down i would back you guys to beat the Spurs Its obvious that you have to be a good road team to win a series most teams with homecourt advantage are leading 3-1 after winning their first two home games which says a lot.Detroit tied their series and Phoenix got a life line against Spurs even though i would still bet on the Spurs closing out the Series. The Lakers just might sweep the Nuggets tonight and the Magic just might do the same but Boston where brought back to earth on Saturday lets see how they bounce back tonight
@A-40 Let me tell you something about this team, I blame Avery more than anyone else. This team used to be very young and athletic. Now they got rid of most of the young players and got players that are on their last lap. Come on, I never thought and still don't think Jason Kidd and Dirk could play together. Dirk does not need anyone to make his play for him. He doesn't do to much posting. He drives and shot. Dallas is a more jump shooting team and my o my, why would you get rid of Marquis Daniel which they trade to Indiana 2 seasons ago? Even D-Wade said it that he was the best guy that defended him. I saw those games and whatever amount of minute the guy had, he played excellent defense and offense. He made D-Wade work his guts out on both ends. Why would you get rid of Maurice Ager, Devin Harris, and Diop? I mean why in your sane life would you give up all these guys for Jason Kidd and bunch of old guys just because you want to win now in a conference that nobody in the playoff has a easy and clear chance? The last time I remember Devin Harris was their point guard when the swept Memphis, whopped Spurs and Phoenix before choking to Heat. And then the coming season, he was the point guard in a 67 win regular season. This is the dumbest decision I've seen a billionaire make. Just straight dumb and pathetic. This is like one of the greatest frauds I've ever seen in sports. Just as bad as the Lakers getting Gasol for Kwame Brown which is worth nothing more than a sand bag. So well, Dallas would reap what they sow for this one sha and it just doesn't look good. That team is in a world of trouble! |
@A-40 Check out this column i read today on ESPN about the Mavs and Hornets especially about the Mavs. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/preview?gameId=280425006 Seems like they were reading my mind! |
by the way A-40, where do you stay in Dallas? Used to live in Plano but I'm now in Seattle. My family still lives in Dallas though! |
@j-girl Ok i give up CP3 schooled Jason abi Game 2 was a blowout no problemo! ehn lets see what happens at the American Airlines center i can assure you it will be very different from the Games at NO peeps like Jason Terry,Brandon Bass would surely step their game up.Me a hornets fan?I like CP3,Dave West and Peja but no thanks @layi We have been inconsistent i agree but don't write these Mavs off we have dropped our first two home games before and still went on to win the series so i am not waving the white flag just yet i am not sure about the guard thingy any team with a good guard will give other teams trouble.Baron Davis,CP3,Kobe will always get their numbers against any team the key is not to let the other players get involved let the guard try and do all the scoring Kobe hit 49 last night and Boston did the bidness once again. It was nice to see Detroit bounce back sha
@ A-40 Ok, think about this. To my knowledge, there's been only twice that Kobe has scored over 60. Guess which teams he scored these points against? Dallas with 62 points and Raptors with 81 pts. CP3 has set records already on Dallas in the first 2 games. Then you talk about Baron Davis, the guy was averaging more in the playoffs against Dallas than both in regular season and against other teams. Now you talk about D-Wade, I mean D-Wade had some confidence like he never did against Dallas. That's because of the way Avery Johnson plays defense. He pays way to much attention to things he cannot affect too much. Like you also agree, these guys are going to get their points. Just get hustling and scrapping and defend has much as you can. But he seems to be over coaching, making basketball too technical and too mechanical. Those guys are playing but they don't even seem like they are having fun. Basketball is all about rhythm and when you get it going and you're having fun, almost anything you throw up will go into the basket just like NO, Warriors and Heat has done against Dallas in the past. They gained confidence because they were having fun and their coaches weren't over coaching. |
@j-girl Neither scenario happened congrats on the win sha we go to Dallas now knowing fully well that we must win both games but CP3 that dude is making Jason Kidd look like a wimp dude had 32-17 last night but its all good Friday and Sunday night will decide I predicted the Spurs will be too strong for the Suns this matter pass Shaq Power. As for the Rockets their case is a hopeless one.The Wizards hmmm i wouldnt bet my mortgage on them beating Cleveland but lets see how it goes -
I'm sorry but I think JASON KIDD GOT SCHOOLED BY THE LITTLE BOY CALLED CP3. Avery Johnson has good intensity but not the best basketball IQ. Every team with a good guard that plays Dallas always makes Dallas look stupid. From Kobe, to B. Davis, to CP3, to Wade. I mean all these guys look like they are way better players when they are playing Dallas and that's because Avery always pays alot of attention to them. You cannot take everything from these players. They'll still have some effect. You just have to try and slow them down and play good defense on the other players. Just don't pay attention to one player by double teaming him. Maybe he needs to go see how Phoenix used to play Lakers and Kobe. Avery just need to let this team play free flow basketball. That's how Dallas came back and won against the Hornets, Jazz and Phoenix towards the end of the season. I really feel bad for those in Dallas right now. First the Cowboys and now the Mavs. Eya! |
Mavs-O-Mavs, what more can I say about this Mavs team. They just seem to have a missing link like Arsenal. It's been a long time that I've seen a team that depends this much on jump shots. I guess we'll wait and see what happens to them |
toshmann:Toshmann, No problem. I'm used to my teams losing now. Let me count how many teams that I've supported that has loss in less than a year. They are Dallas Cowboys (American Footbal); Dallas Mavericks (NBA); UCLA, NC, Memphis and Davidson (America College Basketball); New York Yankees (Baseball) and ofcourse Arsenal. So no shaking, maybe I need to start rooting for the other team and in turn maybe my team would win. The scarest part is that they'll be doing good and then woolah everything will fall down the drains! |
toshmann:Toshmann No offense but I think putting those words in a big red letter is uncalled for in an Arsenal tread. There are already people here that are going ballistic about the loss. There's no need to rob the salt on the wound. Good luck to you Liverpool against Chelsea. |
mjay:You should atleast find it at least in one of the locations showed in these pictures. They also that to be cars from Northern America ( US and Canada) and there are 17 characters in VIN.

Guk:You don't need to worry about the dealer taking the title. It's redundancy because the dealer has to have the title of a vehicle in his possession. What you need to worry about is the fact that the vehicle was branded salvage. All this mean is that the vehicle was in an accident and the insurance company chose to replace the vehicle for the owner thereby they have to issue it a salvage title i.e it was in an accident and that they chose not to fix it. Depending on the insurance company's policy, the accident might be as small as a fender bender or something more serious. However, if the vehicle is accessed as being too damage and they feel even after the vehicle is fixed it could still be a safety hazard, then the vehicle is issued a different type of title which will show that the vehicle would never be road legal. It is not the case for this vehicle. The only scary thing is that the record does not show that the vehicle was fixed and inspected in the states because if it was inspected, the vehicle would be issued a rebuilt title. To back track a bit, it might have been fixed in the States but not inspected or it might have been fixed and inspected but because the owner does not want to pay the extra fee of getting a "rebuilt" title, then he/she chose to just ship it to Naija. In this case, everything would be fine with the vehicle. The only thing is that there's no proof that the vehicle was inspected in the states. I hope I have done a good job at confusing you. Take care and let me know if you have any further clarification. |
