-Assaults Maid for Eating Food

A woman in Enugu state, South East Nigeria, has been arrested by operatives of the state police command for allegedly using a hot pressing iron on her house help, which caused bodily harm.
The woman, Nneka Ifeoze a resident of No 3, Ava Okocha Street, off Mount Street, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State, It was gathered, resorted to using the hot pressing iron on her nine year old maid over misdemeanours allegedly committed against her child.

The victim identified as Oluebube Orji, a 9-year-old girl who hails from Nkwere in Imo State, is said to have committed the alleged offence of assaulting the madam’s 2-year old boy under her care and eating the food meant for the boy.

It was reported that when the woman got back home on April 24, 2016, at about 8pm and discovered the alleged ‘crime’, she became angry and headed for the plugged pressing iron, unplugged it and used it on Oluebube.
According to a release from Police Public Relations Unit, “the madness exhibited by Ifeoze left little Miss Orji with a serious burn capable of deforming her for life.” The victim who was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention is said to be responding to treatment.
