Na Ajayi be next scapegoat bΓ‘?! Una want Zaidu out, he was out and reality checked in. So na Ajayi our in-house Coaches want out now?!

Like you folks are with them at camp, or know better than Paseiro and his coaching crew. This was how majority on this thread wrote off the team before the tourney began, today they are in final stage.

Make una dey calm down with beer parlour analysis. Na Chuks, Aribo, Musa and Awaziem, Bruno need to be replaced for now not Ajayi and co.

Completely agree
Ajayi has been immense in that defence

The way we retreat and sit deep for large spells of the game is very dangerous. It attracts too much pressure.

Actually that happens when they try to conserve energy levels
If we do our substitutions earlier, we can maintain the same shape throughout the game..

Alternatively, if our opponents don't score during those energy drop-off moments, e go hard for them to score again

Counter won't work for them because Nigeria now plays a defensive game.
Even when attacking, the SE usually leaves minimum 3 standing defenders at the back, with Onyeka shielding them... That's basically why the SE doesn't concede anymore. And also, S/A are very poor in converting their chances, they have scored in only 2 matches of the 5 matches they have played thus far

Spot on analysis

Do you think we can displace Morocco at the 12th position if we win AFCON?

We might need a 10-15 game unbeaten run to do so

Exactly. If we stick to this tactics in our next game, we will definitely play penalties. Individually, some players are beginning to fatigue or burn out.

And you think the coaching crew don't know that?
JPes has met the Semi final target NFF gave him
Now man can switch things up
Let's not deceive ourselves, there's no way he would have changed

We stick to our tactics, rotate some players
That's all

If naija wins, player of the tourney has to be one of the defenders

All our defenders turned up
But Ekong has been head and shoulders above them all defensively atleast

And to think JPes almost never used him till this AFCON is really astounding

Ekong deserves to lift that trophy as the Super Eagles captain.

Please, whatever happens, if we do win that trophy, they should make sure he's the one doing the lifting. He has done a madness in defence in this tournament, a true rock of Gibraltar.

Ekong bus stop!!

Iwobi is sluggish his work rate in the middle is obviously overworking Onyeka. He's a midfielder midfielder na

What if there sit back and defend do we have players that can unlock there defence. You know our wingers has not really be impressive and our midfield is just there.

Good point
But they are not likely to sit back
If they do anyway, then it will be a matter of who makes a mistake first or set pieces..

Not over confidence but we are likely to blow Angola away ooo.

I'll look at it from 2 scenarios..
If we start with intensity like we did against Cameroon and we get that early goal, it's over for them..

If they try to rush us with their fluid attack and they meet our Stonewall defence..
We will kill them on the counter as well

The way I see it, this Angola match plays exactly into our formation and setup
JPes should be kicking his lips with glee..

All other factors being equal, we should wallop them

I predict 4:0

Hv you asked yourself why iwobi hv always been in the team since he made his debut as a youngstar for the national team?

Olise used him, same as siasia, egu, rohr and now jpes

He is 26 and has over 70 caps for the super eagles. Put some respect to the boy’s name

In addition, we've played stronger oppositions than the Angolans in this tournament, and you're right their defence is suspect, if the Namibians were a bit clinical they would have conceded two goals against them, I watched that game.

The bolded is our biggest edge going into this game
You are completely correct
Those big victories and the manner in which we secured them, are key to the momentum swinging in our favour

either that or lack of ability. Percy had to run back to Egypt from the epl just to be relevant again. Their squad is 80% home based because they really don't have that much abroad based players.

True that..

That's understandable seeing they have a very organised and well funded league

Lol

South Africa very much played with the spirit of their leading Club, Mamelodi Sundowns, while Sundowns have mastered beating North Arfican clubsite like Raja Casablanca and their Egyptian counterparts. I guess this helps the national team translate and understand the north African teams as well. Not surprising why South Africa beat Egypt in 2019 at home, and then beating Morocco in Ivory coast again.

Beautiful analysis
