HisaacPlus:
One eediot was asking tauntingly what Awolowo achieved.
That question should be directed at azikwe cause there is not 1 single thing he achieved. We can see Awolowos industrial estates and companies he brought in, still active. The farm settlements that caused an explosion in cocoa exports, his free education, tv station which was turned to NTA, the oduduwa investments which still invests in developing several sectors of the economy across the southwest and still headquartered in the cocoa house in Ibadan that he built (PS - till today the SE still does not have any building of that height).
The western regional office in London which currently still houses Nigerian diplomats in the UK.

Azikwe used propaganda to convince the public with his newspaper that he was the better candidate though.

Just destroyed the foundations of the country for nothing. Still murdered all the leaders in a coup.

Misterone:
I believe this too. The guy man thought the questions were straight forward. He never knew those questions were mind readers! To determine the kind of person he is.
The questions were very straightforward. They asked a question, He lied that he won. They corrected him and insisted he answer the question. He didn’t like that and didn’t know how to get out of it.

It was in fact a very simple question that didn’t need any dilly dally from the onset. He made himself look really bad unnecessarily.

Why does he always touch interviewers when he doesn't want them to ask the questions they're asking?

He did the same in his infamous Rufai interview. undecided

The moment Peter obi was fact checked by the European counterpart for stating that he won the 2023 general elections. The man beside him corrected him that Labour Party never did well in the north east and north west, and that he doesn't believe Sokoto, for example, was rigged.

Ikengawo:
VAT is not an achievement.

If i tax Dangote 5 naira for a cup of garri, = VAT N5
If i tax Dangote 1 naira for a cup of garri, = VAT N1

The figures could be very real, because Southeast states tax low. Obi is famous for reducing all taxes in Anambra and still having surplus.
VAT is the same everywhere. Its federal. States cant tax low.
It just means you don't have many production/service companies in the SE.
PoliticsRe: VAT Generated By Nigeria’s States And The FCT In H1 2026 - The Cable by leanonme82(op): 12:54am On Jul 19
Its good to see Awolowos industrial estates in ibadan and ikeja, which attracted big industries & companies to those states, set a good industrial foundation for Lagos and Oyo states.

That is legacy.
PoliticsRe: VAT Generated By Nigeria’s States And The FCT In H1 2026 - The Cable by leanonme82(op):
VAT is increasingly making up a significant portion of the nations FAAC.

Value Added Tax (VAT) typically makes up roughly 25% to 35% of the total distributable Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) revenue in Nigeria.

For example, in the June 2026 FAAC distribution, VAT accounted for about 29% of the total shared pool, generating ₦740.72 billion out of a total distributable revenue of ₦2.550 trillion.

PoliticsRe: VAT Generated By Nigeria’s States And The FCT In H1 2026 - The Cable by leanonme82(op): 11:12pm On Jul 18
In Nigeria, VAT is a centralized consumption tax. Companies collect and remit it to the tax authorities, but revenues are pooled at the national level and distributed to the three tiers of government.
Following recent tax reforms by the Tinubu government, the Federal Government portion of total distributable VAT was reduced to 10%.

How Remittances Work

1. Collection by FIRS/NRS: Registered businesses collect 7.5% VAT on taxable goods and services and remit it to the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).

2. Once the gross VAT is collected and statutory deductions (like the cost of collection) are made, the net distributable VAT is shared among the 3 tiers of government at the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).

Under the revised tax sharing formula:

Federal Government: Receives 10%
State Governments (including the FCT): Receive 55%
Local Government Councils: Receive 35%

All because they hate the president, they have become bitter and making up all sorts.

Men died.

Calling their sacrifice ‘& all the soldiers hard work ‘fake’ is evil.

OFFICE OF THE NATIONAL PUBLICITY SECRETARY,
NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC)

Second NEC Resolutions: NDC Takes Major Steps Towards Institutionalization

1. The NDC is committed to building the party as a strong and enduring institution, with emphasis on party supremacy. The programs, policies, and appointments (except personal staff) of all governments elected on the platform of the party must be made in consultation with the party structure.

The party remains supreme, and members are expected to align their personal interests and agendas with those of the party.

2. All affiliated groups and NGOs shall operate under the guidance and control of the party and must not function in parallel with, or independently of, the party structure.

3. A comprehensive Code of Conduct shall be established for all party officials and candidates. To this end, a committee has been constituted under the leadership of the National Legal Adviser to develop the framework and guidelines.

4. A National Reconciliation Committee has been inaugurated to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party.

5. The NDC is being built as an institution, not a personality cult, political movement, or Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to be used and discarded.

Members are encouraged to remain committed to the party and contribute to its growth and sustainability for generations to come.

At all times, and for all candidates and aspirants, total allegiance must be to the party and the national interest.

On financial probity, the party will enforce strict accountability in the management of party resources by all officers, and party funds must be used strictly for party business.

For candidates, there must also be strict accountability for all funding received. Monies sourced by candidates at all levels, and contributions made by candidates to campaign accounts, must be fully disclosed to the party at the [quote]appropriate levels (local government, state, zonal, and national). Such funds must be received through dedicated party campaign accounts, including presidential and governorship campaign accounts of the party, as applicable.
