In this throwback video of President Tinubu during the campaign, he talks about taking his whole Lagos economic team to Abuja when he becomes President. In the video, the president said the following: "We still have to be able to pay for good roads, we want the good roads. They are expensive. We cannot fund it alone, we have to establish long term money for long term projects. We have to look at the fiscal policy, and separate that from monetary policy. We have to get an headmaster like Cardoso, where is he? to be persistent. You can't pass a sheet of paper through him unless you have a budget head for it, and then he'll say there's no head, then we named him 'Headmaster'. The job he did for Lagos state, with him, Wale Edun, Dele Alake, who is here, and others. It was great, I was not alone, I was with a great team. Unbreakable team. And I promise you that team." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAPI5XdMmq8?si=qYY9WQK16-qLFwK4 Source:

Last hours of Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari January 14, 1966… There was a party at Maimalari’s house at 11, Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos. it was planned by his ADC. The man he trusted with his life, Emmanuel Arinze Ifeajuna. The very man who planned the first coup in Nigeria in which his boss was one of the targets to be eliminated. At this time, Maimalari was the Commander of 2ndbrigade Nigerian army in Lagos, Ifeajuna was his chief of staff and in charge of his details. Maimalari was the most powerful soldier from the North and a greatly admired public figure among northerners. Maimalari was celebrating his marriage to a new bride. Ifeajuna sent out all the letters for the party that day. All senior officers and their ADC were at the party that evening. The list included the GOC of the army, Aguyi Ironsi, Colonel Kur Mohammed, Chief of Staff, army headquarters and Colonel Yakubu Gowon, commander of the 2nd battalion at Ikeja. A lot of politicians and cabinet ministers were also at the party. As the party progressed, his new wife from Kano was presented to his friends. She was young and very beautiful. Maimlari showed her off as the soldiers gazed at her while the orchestra and the 2nd battalion band from Ikeja drummed for the occasion. A lot of junior officers were at the party as well. Some of them were in on Ifeajuna’s plans for a coup the next day. At midnight, shortly after the party, they all met at Ifeajuna’s house at Apapa. He got in late, there were 12 officers waiting for him among them were Humprey Chukwuka (deputy general in the Nigerian army) and Major Christain Anuforo, General staff officer at the army headquarters. A Yoruba akotileta house negro was at the meeting. His name was Adegboyega. Another very important active member of the group was Anuforo. Other important officers at the meeting that evening were Donatus Okafor, Captain Ogbonna Oji and Lientenant Oyewole. Someone joined them much later at the meeting, Obienu, his task was to take over the barracks at Abeokuta which had a lot of firepower that they needed for the coup. The man tasked to go to Maimalari’s house to kill him was Donatus Okafor. 2am, the phone rang at Maimalari’s house, it was Elizabeth, Yakubu Gowon’s wife that called him to tell him her husband had been arrested by some of the coup plotters. While Maimalari was on the phone with him, he heard commotion at his own gate. One of his guards had been shot and killed for refusing to open the gate . Immediately he heard the gunshot, he ran upstairs to his house, took his new wife and hid her in the servant’s quarters, then he ran to the back of his house, scaled the fence, and disappeared into the darkness. Donatus Okafor….. nearly ran mad when he realized Maimlari had escaped…. Maimalari was the most powerful solder in Lagos ( although not the most senior)…. he was the commander of the southern brigade in Apapa… lots of the fighting forces of the battalions…. Field artillery corps… armored and mechanized corps were under his command… he could mobilize an entire brigade with his powers in the military….. most of the ammunitions that Ifeajuna took from the barracks for the coup, he did so with forged clearance in the name of Maimlari Okafor told his soldiers to search every part of the house and to kill Maimalari if they sight him anywhere. If Maimalari made his way to any barracks, they were all doomed. He could easily round them up and they would face a well predicted fate in his hands…. When they did not find him in the house, they went back in their cars and searched around Thompson Street and glover road in search of Maimalari… when they did not find him… they searched along Bourdillon road…. Really frantic to make sure he did not reach the barracks. Maimlari was running on the streets in his Pijamas… bare feet, trying to make his way to the federal guards palace…. If any car drove by, he docked into the shrubs or bush….. now a car passed by and he tried to dock… then from where he was hiding, he noticed it was a familiar car…. Of his ADC…. They partied together few hours earlier…… he jumped out from the bush where he was hiding and waved down at him… unaware that he just fell into a trap…… ‘Emma… thank God…. Some of your boys have gone crazy… Do you have a knowledge of who they might be and what unit? … ’No sir’ replied Ifeajuna ‘Never mind, just get me to the barracks … I am going to find those bastards in the morning and finish them’ As Maimalari walked towards Ifeajuna’s car… He saw the Prime minister… Tafawa Balewa in the car…. Maimalari froze to his feet… realizing he just walked into a trap…. Ifeajuna told him to say his last prayers… cocked his gun and fired three bullets at the Brigadier…. He fell to the floor and died instantly…. Ifeajuna fired five more shots at him on the floor…. This was the last hours of a man that did no wrong…. In the hands of a man he took like a brother and entrusted his life into…. Ifeajuna... the man who celebrated with him just a few hours earlier…. Murdered him on his wedding day…… The January 1966 coup was not a revolution... like the Obidient movement, it was a sham... the rage in the heart of these savages going around at night across the country in their coordinated selective murders as they pelleted their victims with bullets is all that needed to be observed. On that same route… Aguyi Ironsi was intercepted and allowed to pass as he made his way to the barracks.

WHAT HAPPENED TO NWOBOSI? Dear @eleyiofx, Thank you for your feedback. Well, after the July 29, 1966 counter-coup, this same Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi, who killed Samuel Akintola after initially running away when Akintola resisted with his sub machine gun, ran to Enugu, where Lt. Colonel Ojukwu made him his Chief of Staff. If Akintola's ammunition had not finished, Nwobosi could not have killed him, because from the report of both Justice Kayode Eso, and Remi Fani-Kayode, he ran to hide when Akintola started shooting to defend himself. Can you imagine a military man hiding from a civilian? After Lt. Colonel Ojukwu declared the Republic of Biafra on May 30, 1967, he promoted himself to General and made Emmanuel Nwobosi a full Biafran Colonel. Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi was the last of the January 15, 1966 conspirators to die. He did an interview shortly before he died in 2020, blaming the whole coup on the British for not conducting free and fair elections in Northern Nigeria, which allowed Ahmadu Bello to emerge as regional premier. He sounded exactly like Nnamdi Kanu in that interview, which is still on YouTube. He showed no remorse nor took any responsibility for his actions. If not that he was overpowered by then Lt Colonel Gowon, he would also have killed Chief Remi Fani Kayode, FFK's father. Lt. Colonel Gowon, as a dedicated Christian, did not kill Nwobosi the way Nwobosi killed others. But going back to his 2020 interview, first and foremost, what was Nwobosi's business with the Northern Region? Secondly, none of the parties won the 1959 federal elections. The only reason that the Northern Peoples Congress came into power and Sir Tafawa-Balewa became Prime Minister was because Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe of the NCNC went into a coalition with the NPC rather than with Chief Awolowo's Action Group, which had made overtures to him. Yet, the putschists did not kill any NCNC politician. The issue is that Nwobosi felt that Nigerians do not study history, and to a large extent, he was right. For example, Ifeajuna, the coup leader, who passed the home of the obnoxiously corrupt Ozumba Mbadiwe (who had been exposed by the Daily Times's Babatunde Jose as having received kickbacks from the sale of government property), only to proceed to the home of the famously honest and frugal Prime Minister, Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa, whom he abducted and later killed, in a coup that was ostensibly about corruption. In my opinion, Nwobosi got off lightly. But such is life. Thanks again, and may God bless you.

Many Nigerians do not realise that that scene in Scarface, where Al Pacino, starring as Tony Montana, welcomed his would be assassins with a salvo from his sub-machine gun, is likely stolen, without accreditation, from the true story of how Samuel Ladoke Akintola met his death. Akintola was the bravest politician of the First Republic. While other politicians killed on the night of January 15, 1966 by Majors Ifeajuna, Nzeogwu, Anuforo, Onwuatuegwu, and Okafor begged for their lives, with some even crying, not so Akintola. He had been warned by a telephone call from Mrs. Adunni Fani-Kayode, that Captain Nwobosi had arrested her husband, the father of @RealFFK . But rather than flee, he waited for what he must have known was coming. And he was prepared. When Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi ordered him to come out, he waited for him and his men to approach his door and opened fire on them with his SMG. It was actually Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi and his men who ran for cover. This continued until Akintola ran out of ammunition, whereupon, seizing the opportunity. Nwobosi and his men came out of hiding and wasted him. But for the fact that he ran out of ammunition, he may not have died. Captain Nwobosi would have been able to deny his part in the killing, as Major Ifeajuna did, but for the fact Chief Akintola's neighbour, Justice Kayode Eso, was home and witnessed the events. Additionally, before he and his fellow putschist could kill Chief Remilekun Fani-Kayode, they were counter attacked by forces led by Lt. Colonel Gowon, who rescued him, and he lived to tell what he witnessed. Ironically, Chief Akintola was the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba, and his defiance of the military was later re-enacted by Chief MKO Abiola, his successor as Aare Ona Kakanfo. #TableShaker Source: https://twitter.com/renoomokri/status/1702046016260718804

porthouse7:Choi see insult! Prince of Lagos this babe has finished u. Time to go sleep. |
micxwell:Ok |
VikingKing:This is not a Yoruba person. You should know the lingo by now. Yorubas don’t brag. We hail. There’s a difference. A Yoruba man can never use the words ‘slavish’ and ‘tiny’ in this context. They mind their business and don't have an appetite for manipulation and confusion. |
micxwell:If you have high monthly listeners this month it means ur getting higher streams. And if it’s lower next month means ur getting lower streams dn last month, but the actual numbers don’t mean anything. Well it means many people are listening. Rema is getting high number of streams on all platforms by the way. |
Confirmedzombie:Please stop disguising wt ur reverse manipulation. It's exhausting.🙄 |

rickyrex:We don’t ever complain about super eagle cos that is talent. If ur not talented you’ll eventually not get any glory. Only the best are eventually celebrated. But u guys cry about music and awards. And say things like ‘Yoruba tax’. As if Tuface the first modern superstar in Lagos was a Yoruba man. Anyways I don’t care about big brother. It’s just dt the skewed selection was too glaring. *sipskunu*
