Politics / Cross River Governor Slashes Own Salary By 80% by Leebrown(m): 6:25am On Feb 10, 2016 |
Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade, his deputy, Professor Ivara Esu and all members of the state executive council have agreed on a cut on their monthly salaries. The governor is leading by example, offering 80 percent of his salary. His deputy and all Executive Council members, however, agreed to forfeit 20 percent to make provision for the large number of political aides appointed by the governor. The Commissioner for Information, Mrs Rosemary Archibong, who announced the pay cut by the governor and his aides in Calabar, Tuesday, said that the decision was voluntary and would take effect retroactively from when the aides were appointed.“What the governor wants is to reach as many people as possible by appointing many people into government and this involves huge financial commitment and so to make sure our brothers and sisters who are part of government go home with something at the end of every month,”Archibong said. According to her, the Executive Council members were in support of the vision.

Family / Twin Sisters Share One Husband by Leebrown(m): 7:17pm On Feb 02, 2016 |
Twins often hate to be separated by things like marriage, These twin sisters have decided they don’t want to be separated, so they have agreed to share one husband. The twins and their husband Twin sisters Owami and Olwethu Mzazi from South Africa, have allegedly married the same husband In a country where polygamy is widely accepted, relatives did not have any problems with the twins decision to stay together with the same man, till death do them part. This didn’t come as a surprise, as the twins had always dreamt of marrying the same man. The 26 year old twins are married to 51 year old Mzukiseni Mzazi. Here’s what one half of the twins, Owami, had to say: “We have always done everything together…that is how our grandmother raise us. So when we decided to marry, we said any man that wants to marry one, will marry the other.” Here’s hoping they all have a life of bliss together. |

Politics / Nigeria’s Democracy Cannot Survive Without Rule Of Law – Ekweremadu by Leebrown(m): 11:24am On Jan 24, 2016 |
The Deputy senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has said that no democracy in the world can survive without strict adherence to the rule of law. This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media,Uche Anichukwu, and issued to journalists on Saturday in Abuja. According to the statement, Mr.Ekweremadu made the remark at a dinner organised by the International Law Institute(ILI), Washington DC,for its alumni in Nigeria. He noted that no country could experience meaningful development without the rule of law.He said:“Democracy becomes gravely imperilled if the powers of the judiciary to enforce compliance with the rule of law are subjected to legal, extra-legal, and sociological limitations.“Our task as an emerging democracy is to continue to build a society where government agencies as well as individuals and private entities must be subjected to and accountable under the law.“We must ensure that the process by which laws are enacted, administered, and enforced is accessible, fair and efficient. |
Religion / 4 S*xual Sins Every Christian Should Avoid by Leebrown(m): 7:58pm On Jan 21, 2016 |
There are at least four primary
s*xual sins the Word of God
speaks of: adultery,
fornication, uncleanness and
lewdness. Here are the definitions of
these four s*xual sins: 1- Adultery: Unlawful s*xual
intercourse involving at least
one married person. Adultery
is incompatible with the
harmonious laws of family life
in God’s kingdom, and is under God’s judgment since it
violates God’s original
purpose. 2- Fornication: p****graphy,
illicit s*xual intercourse
including prostitution,
whoredom, inc*st,
licentiousness (lack of moral
restraint), and habitual immorality (would include
s*xual fantasies that lead to
self service). 3- Uncleanness: Often refers
to homosexuality and
lesbianism 4- Lewdness: unashamed
indecency, unbridled lust,
unrestrained depravity (a
disposition or settled tendency
to evil, the innate corruption of
unregenerate man), the person with this characteristic has an
insolent defiance of public
opinion, sinning in broad
daylight with arrogance and
contempt. |
