Hello
Mr Vice President Appreciation Post

There’s never a time I hear about my beloved Maiduguri International School wherever I may be and not get nostalgic, I still have beautiful memories of my days there. So imagine my surprise three days ago, as I drove by with an old friend to get suya since I returned from Amsterdam and I see my beloved MIS looking new!

It looked nothing like It used to be, I had to get down and have a look, I was going to start showering praises on the proprietors when my friend told me it was Prof Yemi Osinbajo the Vice President that actually renovated the school to world class standard.

I know the Alumni tried twice to do this but we couldn’t that is why this gesture left me speechless. This humanitarian service is rare especially when he is not promoting it in the media. I am humbled, God continue to bless you and our country Nigeria. The angels of the pupils there will pray for you. This is a challenge to other Nigerians, the VP is not an alumni and he is not from Borno. May God bless him and his home.

PoliticsEmir Of Gwandu Praises Osinbajo’s Exemplary Leadership Style* by leeport(op): 4:55pm On Sep 12, 2019
*Emir of Gwandu praises Osinbajo’s exemplary leadership style*

The Emir of Gwandu and Chairman, Kebbi Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, has praised Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his exemplary leadership style and for his loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Emir of Gwandu extolled the Vice President when he paid him a courtesy visit on Thursday as part of an official one-day visit to Kebbi.

He was accompanied by the State governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and other senior government officials to the palace of the Emir.

Praising the Vice President, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar lauded the Vice President for his dedication to Nigeria and Nigerians.

Addressing Prof Osinbajo, he said, "I love the way you managed the country when the President was away. I love how you go around the country trying to make peace."

He added that, "Kebbi is the 24th State you have taken this programme too, we thank you for the great work of prosperity you are doing all over," the Emir said referring to the MSMES Clinics in particular.

The Vice President who was in Kebbi for the 24th edition of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinics also carried out other engagements including Family Visit hosted by N-Agro beneficiary Abubakar Bunza and on-site assessment of TraderMoni at the Kebbi Central Market.

During his Family Chat visit to the home of Mr. Bunza in Bayan Kara, in Birnin Kebbi, the Vice President was briefed on the successes of the N-Agro programme and how it has impacted agriculture in the state.

Mr Bunza, a beneficiary of the N-Agro says that with the learning materials provided by the programme, he is able to help in tackling some of the problems of farming, poultry and livestock.

He helps provide solutions to the problems of local farmers encounter by showing them improved systems and techniques of modern farming and its effects to the society.

He has also been able to secure demonstrative plots of land from National Research Institute in Kebbi to prove practically, the modern systems of farming, using solar to power his rice farm irrigation system which produces enough water for 15 hectares. He is therefore able to irrigate even neighbouring farms as well. He produces 70-80 bags of paddy per hectare, compared to his neighbours 50 bags. He has also started a poultry farm.

At Kebbi Central Market, the Vice President engaged with market men and women who are beneficiaries of TraderMoni.

TraderMoni is an empowerment scheme of the Federal Government created specifically for petty traders and artisans across Nigeria.

PoliticsTradermoni And The Social Media Craze by leeport(op): 10:13am On Aug 29, 2019
*Beyond 10k TraderMoni Noise on Social Media*

By Oladele Peter

Petty traders are often those women and men who sell certain commodities which are predominantly not sold to the ultimate consumer by the formal sector, examples includes fruits, vegetables, pepper, sachet water, bread, and so on. Petty Traders are highly indispensable in the distribution system providing useful goods to the community especially the lower middle class and the poor. The major problem facing Petty Trading is CAPITAL in the form of loans, which they can’t get from banks.

The Nigerian government under the leadership of President Buhari and his vice Prof. Osinbjo came up with the strategy to fight Hunger, Poverty and Lack of capital by most petty traders; they introduced a Programme called TRADERMONI which is part of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).

TraderMoni as a scheme has generated a significant amount of buzz and national conversation: from those who laud its impact to those who view it as politically motivated. TraderMoni is one of three microcredit products of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).

GEEP is a microcredit programme that provides much-needed capital to traders, artisans, farmers, petty traders. It is one of the social intervention progammes of the Federal Government, it comprises of three products: MarketMoni, FarmerMoni, and TraderMoni. GEEP was initiated in 2016 by the Federal Government, with an understanding that there are over 30 million Nigerians at the base of the pyramid who are in active commercial activity but never have an opportunity to access credit.

Findings on the TraderMoni programme shows that it is being implemented by the Federal Government and the Bank of Industry to empower petty traders. Tradermoni is an interest-free loans of between N10,000 to N300,000. After you apply and you are pick, you get N10,000 and if you pay back N10,000 you get N15,000 till you reach the top of the ladder which is N300,000. As long as you keep paying back you will keep climbing the ladder.

Research conducted in Utako Market, Abuja, Ikotun Market in Lagos, Ochanja Market in Onitsha, Eke Awka in Awka and Kasuwar Yankaba in Nasarawa, Gusau Central Market and Kebbi Central Market (Through some research assistance) shows that many traders are benefiting from the TraderMoni programmes.

It was learnt that VP Osinbajo never shared cash in any of markets listed above. Traders confirmed that TraderMoni is paid into bank accounts or mobile wallets not in cash to petty traders, which they can cash on their own or with help of relatives. We also found some other Traders who initially denied benefiting from the programme till they were told we are here to fast track their next stage of the programme which is N15,000 and N20,000 respectively at which point their stories changed.

Furthermore, we deduced from the findings that petty trading activity is an important sphere of our economy which plays a significant role in both rural and urban economic life. This sector contributes to higher living standards and greater material prosperity in rural and urban areas by making the goods and services available to the consumers at the right times and at right places

Petty trading also provides employment and income to millions of people who would otherwise lack the means of survival. To some, it even also serves as a breeding ground for entrepreneurship. Therefore, The Federal government should not only increase beneficiaries but also speed up the process. The FG should also create more awareness on TraderMoni and even other parts of GEEP and even the NSIPs in general.

God Bless Nigeria

PoliticsWho Is Reno Omokri’s Next Victim? by leeport(op): 9:42am On Aug 27, 2019
*Who is Reno Omokri’s next victim?*

The word fraudster has a ring to it, somehow it sounds a lot nicer than thief. Reno Omokri, unfortunately is both. Yeah I am talking about the same Reno Omokri who claims to be a pastor yet we are yet to find anyone who actually attends his church or service programmes. (PS: the offer still waits for their identification. I dare say he’d be more than willing to push up such a person towards the top of his #RenoMoni fraud pyramid).

Much has been said about the fraudulent acts such as profiteering from the sale of books and tee shirts in Leah Sharibu’s name without as much as providing financial details to back up claims. First he allegedly said he transferred the monies made from the tees to her family then realizing the gaffe claimed that the donations were made directly to her father’s account.

On the book front, Reno said “the royalties spent exactly five minutes in his account before they were also transferred to her father”. What the people and by this I’m referring to his teeming followers want to see or read is;

Who was monitoring the time?

Are royalties a one off event?

What’s happened to the income from the book sold since the first payout was done?

For those interested in his other bold but outlandish claims, I would recommend you dig up his responses to #RenoUndarted.

We would like to see some sort of audit else this would continue to hang over him like the sword of Damocles.

Reno also regularly claims to be a bestselling author yet the said book which is his claim to fame accumulates dust on Amazon’s shelves.

Since a liar would always steal, remember when our mothers told us that? It’s not surprising that Reno Omokri is a thief. Yes I say it and it’s actually the main crux of my write up. A man with absolutely no scruples about dragging the title of Pastor into the mud apparently seeing as he thinks everyone else is like him with absolutely no compunction nor morals about stealing the identity of another albeit that of his nephew.
Sometimes in 2014, Reno Omokri who was at the time, the SA to the President on New Media ushered Nigeria into the now popular crime of Identity theft. In order to smear and slander the name of the then suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Reno Omokri anonymously sent emails to editors across the country in the identity of his nephew, a certain Wendel Simlin with the email; wendellsimlin@yahoo.com.

To most persons Reno has always been a duplicitous character skilled in the dark arts but as we have come to find out he’s not very good at covering up his tracks or aligning his lies as those who investigated the issue then claimed they didn’t do anything special at all, just basic checks around the email and most crucially, the attached word document.

It was as simple as opening the attached word document and right clicking to pull up its properties. There it was – his name as the author and person who last saved it on Hewlett-Packard computer (this is automatically done when you use your computer to generate a document).

An online newspaper, Premium Times, who had received official emails from Reno Omokri in the past checked out previous email headers from him and compared it to this particular one from Wendell Simlin. They matched i.e. the emails were sent from the same computer/location.

But he is not one to be deterred. Religious baiting is a very dangerous thing to do in Nigeria but it is the main stay of Reno Omokri’s, I mean his modus Oparandi. Once the religious touch paper has been lit in Nigeria, no one really has any control over it and many lives could possibly be lost. The email sent out by Reno was dripping with Islamophobia and also contained outright lies and smears not just against SLS but against Alhaji Mutallab – a man who reported his own son to the American authorities when he noticed extremist tendencies in him.

Seems the latest feather he’s added to his cap of mischief, is taking on persons he believes are too relevant and then he tries to misinform the public and Christian bodies as he seeks to exploit them for personal gratification.

Well if he comes facing you as Reno the Fraud, let one fly and if he comes backing you as Reno the identity Thief, do hesitate to release the notch, for he only commeth to steal, deceive and destroy our relative peace.

PoliticsNigeria, U.S Partnership Vital For Development – Osinbajo by leeport(op): 11:57am On Aug 26, 2019
The partnership between Nigeria and the United States is one that would continue to produce mutually desirable results for both countries, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

Prof. Osinbajo stated this on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, when he received the Administrator of the US Agency on International Development (USAID), Mr Mark Green who is currently on a visit to Nigeria.

Noting that the US is one of Nigeria’s most dependable development partners, the Vice President said the Nigerian government was grateful for the interventions in the areas of health, humanitarian issues and education.

While stating the commitment of the Buhari administration to improve the country’s education sector, and the President’s resolve to enforce free and compulsory basic education for every child of primary and junior secondary school age; Prof. Osinbajo noted that a lot more can be done with cooperation between both countries.

He said, “This is an area where Mr. President particularly has a personal commitment. On June 20th, in a meeting with State Governors, he made the point that we are going to enforce a nine-year free and compulsory basic education for children. He felt that this was not just a moral obligation, but, of course, to educate and develop future generations, especially female children.

The Vice President said there could be more cooperation in the area of teacher training, skills development, child education, especially girl-child education, among other interventions in the education sector.

Prof. Osinbajo also highlighted the need for more development partnerships in the areas of improving the country’s power sector and security, noting that the Federal Government has been putting a significant amount of work in developing renewable energy and providing solar power in rural areas and other parts of the country.

According to him, “In the power sector, we find that renewable energy is an area we want to do more in. And in many parts of the country, we find that solar power would be advantageous for us, and we’re trying to do a lot in that area. The Power grid itself has had various challenges. We think the fastest growth, especially in rural areas is solar power. In that respect, we’ve done a fair amount of work.”

While acknowledging US military assistance, the VP noted that the Federal Government would also welcome more cooperation in tackling humanitarian challenges in the North East of the country.

In his remarks, Green; who was accompanied by the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Stuart Symington, said the US and Nigeria have a deep friendship based on shared values and shared priorities. He described as admirable President Muhammadu Buhari’s personal commitment to ensuring compulsory free education for Nigerian children, stating the US looks forward to working with the Nigerian government on developing its education sector, tackling security challenges and improving economic indices.

He said, “We have particular interest in continuing our very strong partnership in providing humanitarian assistance, particularly in areas in the North; working together on economic opportunities, particularly in rural areas; creating strong sustainable futures for farmers and herders; and looking for ways to tackle some of the challenges that we both see in building lives and communities.”

Earlier in the day, the Vice President also received a delegation from the Andrew J. Young Foundation, led by civil rights activist and former US Ambassador to the United Nations, Andrew J. Young.

The Vice President described Young as one of the major icons in the US civil rights movement.
The VP noted that Young has played “very important roles in the life of our nation and influencing positively many of our leaders.”

In his remarks, Young commended the Buhari administration for “being able to hold this country together in spite of the differences” and ensuring democracy prevailed.

Young, who worked with the late Martin Luther King Jnr., was accompanied by Ambassador Howard Jeter, Sir Emeka Offor and Senator Ken Nnamani.

PoliticsReno's Obsession With Osinbajo Is His Last Claim To Relevance by leeport(op): 12:02pm On Aug 23, 2019
*RENO'S OBSESSION WITH OSINBAJO IS HIS LAST CLAIM TO RELEVANCE*

*Why Jonathan's Social Media aide will never overcome his fraudulent past*

We wake up each day, count it a blessing and go about our daily activities to earn a living.

Unfortunately for Reno Omokiri he's faced with the same dilemma the only difference is that of late he's had no job and has taken to social media as consolation.Well he’s not entirely jobless, if you take into account the fact he sold shirts and books in Leah Sharibu’s name, scamming her parents and unsuspecting people.

But if he is not up to some old tricks, he is usually eking out a living out of his obsession for none other than the Vice President.

Similar to the holy grail or the elixir of life, a day can't go by without the self acclaimed pastor a crony to one of Nigeria's most corrupt governments attempting to take a dig at renowned Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Who requires that we shed light on the crooked character that once took on the personage of Wendell Simlin?

Lamido Sanusi - the Emir of Kano who was widely respected in the international community - had been suspended as the Governor of the Central bank a month after accusing the government of corruption.

A few days later, a number of journalists were surprised to receive an email from an unknown man, Wendell Simlin, which linked Sanusi with the militant Islamist group Boko Haram.

It was actually written by one of the president's aides, after his name was found in a Word document attached. Yes, Reno Omokri the one and only. Social media advisor to President Goodluck Jonathan.

Not long afterwards a Califonia-based woman, Deborah Campbell, told Sahara Reporters in a series of emails and telephone conversation that her son, based in Hercules, California, is the real Wendel Simlin.

She explained that she is married to Mr. Omokri’s brother-in-law and that the president’s aide exploited the relationship to perpetrate forgery.

Back in Nigeria, Feyi Fawehinmi, one of the team who investigated the letters said, "We just did a simple right click on the document and looked at the 'properties'," and his name was there as the author.

This simpleton attempts at smearing the names of more accomplished persons obviously hasn't been improved upon in the five years since. For only yesterday Reno took his darts to Instagram and almost verbatim spewed the exact same rhetoric that another established wailer @aishayesufu had a couple of days prior chugged out questioning the roles and functions of Vice President Osinbajo in the present administration.

Dare I say Reno took to Instagram in respect to the bashing he got on Twitter the last time he exfoliated his crass and idiosyncrasies in the community. Anyone remembers #RenoUndarted?

Seems he's also not forgotten the bashing but assumes Nigerians have forgotten that we've realized he's been fraudulently collecting money in the name of Leah Sharibu from donors across the world in the course of his travels. We are still waiting for the audited accounts showing royalties being paid to Leah's parents as he alleged.

Rather than provide proof, Reno went underground and thinking that the clime was clear popped his head out to once again go about earning his Dubai strategy bread.

Nigerians are usually not quick to be ruffled, but the attendant response that greeted him and his post yesterday, I'm sure Reno now knows that his goose is cooked so expect one of Nigeria's most slimy characters to reinvent himself in another shoddy pseudonym in the nearest future because his obsession with Osinbajo is his last claim to relevance.

PoliticsEl-zakzaky Chose Indian Hospital, Says Group by leeport(op): 8:46pm On Aug 16, 2019
*El-Zakzaky chose Indian hospital, says Group*

*...plans to internationalise his group's activities*

A non-partisan, public policy and good governance group in Nigeria has stressed that the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) chose the hospital which he hurriedly ditched to return to Nigeria on Friday.

The Initiative to Save Democracy in a recall that the Press Release by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information had clearly revealed that it was th e cleric who made the choice, just like he also indicated in his request to the Court. The group dismissed insinuations that the Federal Government had anything to do with his choice of the hospital.

In a press statement on Friday, President of the group, Peter Oladele said the suit filed by El-Zakzaky's lawyer which resulted to his release for medical treatment stated the hospital where he will be receiving treatment.

He said the Nigeria Shiite leader and the IMN are only trying to be mischievous by politicising his abrupt return to Nigeria.

"The facts are there and they are clear, Sheikh El-Zakzaky and his lawyers picked the Medanta Hospital so he has no reasons to complain.

He stressed that the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Grace Isu Gekpe, said the Indian authorities were vexed by the unruly behaviour of El-Zakzaky.

Mr. Oladele said El-Zakzaky refused to subject himself to preliminary medical checks after officials resisted pressure to give him his international passport.

Quoting Mrs Gekpe, he said, "He demanded free movement and access to visitors of all kinds and also requested to be allowed to be checked into a five star hotel instead of being admitted in a hospital.

"The request was rejected on the ground that he came into the country for medicals, and not as a tourist, especially with the visa issued on medical grounds and not tourism.

"Against medical ethics and standard practice, he requested to nominate doctors of his choice to join the ones tasked by Medanta Hospital to perform medical treatment on him and his wife.

"That demand created a stalemate as the hospital insisted that he would not dictate to it on the choice of medical personnel to carry the required medical treatment.

"Frustrated by his antics, the Indian authorities have expressed willingness to return him to Nigeria with immediate effect. This is on the account that they will not allow him use their country to internationalise his group's activities."

PoliticsGlobal Food Basket: A Journey Of Abundant Economic Wealth by leeport(op): 12:21pm On Aug 08, 2019
GLOBAL FOOD BASKET: A JOURNEY OF ABUNDANT ECONOMIC WEALTH

By David Chigaekpebi

Nigeria is blessed with a huge amount of arable land and currently boasts over 100 million heads of livestock and with the emphasis that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have placed on agriculture, it is not surprising that it is receiving huge investments in this sector. Recently some Chinese investors were in the country upon invitation by the African Development bank (AFDB) and met with the Vice President looking to invest heavily in Agro related businesses. This in turn would address the food security and eventually transform Nigeria into a global food basket.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo while receiving the Investors said the Federal Government will welcome partnerships and initiatives that will make Nigeria actualize its potential of being a global food basket. “Nigeria is constantly aiming to advance agricultural technologies to boost plant agriculture and livestock sectors so as to contribute to food security globally.”

Despite Nigeria’s huge investments in its oil & gas and mineral resources, agriculture still forms a big contributor of the country’s economy. With Nigeria no longer over depending on oil for its economic development, the vice president has taken a great step to focus on agriculture and agro-businesses, thereby extensively creating more employment opportunities and ebbing away poverty in the country.

It therefore means that this wave of new business suggests a profoundly encouraging investment climate for investors. Strategically positioned to trade with surrounding nations, Nigeria henceforth will be increasingly noted as an investment destination and ‘’Global Food Basket’’ as stated by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Amidst such developments, it seems that agribusiness investment opportunities in Nigeria will now be as rich and diverse as the land itself.

Blessed with plentiful sunshine and rainfall, access to the fertile plains surrounding the life-giving River Niger and its tributaries, Nigeria's rich soils yield a vast array of crops, such as yam, beans, rice, maize, millet, other cereal grains, vegetables and fruits, including lemons, mangoes, grapefruits and oranges. Rivers within the country are also abundant sources of fish.
In the drier northern region livestock farming is the most prominent activity. An estimated 100 million heads of different animal species – namely cows, goats and camels.
Undoubtedly, if these and further investments both exterior and from within can be obtained, the country is on track to be a major contributor to the global food basket and the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo has surely embarked on a journey of abundant economic wealth for the people of Nigeria.
