Exactly one year today April 11th, since the protest in the University of Port Harcourt over increased school fees took the life of Comr. Peter Ofurum and yet no justice for his death has been made. The SARS official who was trigger happy on that day shot and killed an unarmed Peter Ofurum and is still nowhere to be found. April 11th will never be forgotten in the history of the University. Nigeria which way?? Na so dem go dey kill students dey go scot freeeee? Peter Ofurum was a final year student and the Faculty President of Management Sciences at the time of the incident and yet UNIPORT'S management denied him as a student of the University after he was killed. Let's join hands and demand justice for his death. Do not say "I'm no longer a student so it doesn't concern me". We all learn everyday whether in the classroom or in our respective homes or places of work. Therefore we are all students and we must unite to fight this injustice. Video and pictures attached below of the protest.

University of Port-harcourt Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ndowa Lale, has threatened to arrest NANS President, Comr. Aruna Kadiri over his ongoing efforts to ensure that the rusticated students of the school are reinstated.
Recall, following the dismissal of 23 students of the aforementioned citadel of learning by management, President Kadiri visited the school in the bid to reinstates the affected students, describing it “a political victimisation”.
Kadiri in response to the unfortunate threat of arrest, dares the Vice-Chancellor to try it, stating that “no going back on reinstatement of our politically victimised students”.
He also states that wherever politically victimized students exist, NANS under his watch will deploy all at its disposal in ensuring their reinstatement. “Restoring their rights and liberties is one of our main policy thrust. All head of schools and relevant agencies have been informed of the new order when i assumed office last year,” he added.
It is worthy to note that in keeping to his oath of office to protect the rights of every Nigerian Student, Comr. Aruna Kadiri, penciled down University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State and Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State “a top priority in 2017” for inhuman rustication of 23 students and arbitrary increase in school fees respectively.
The #NANS President condemned in totality the action of the UniPort's management which according to him, from all indications was political, called for their immediate reinstatement.
