Good day all. Congratulations to all those who just received their PPR. I have two questions for the house;

i) I made the mistake of not submitting an upfront medical while submitting my application. I have been waiting but I haven't been told to go do my medical and I am a Fall applicant. Please I want to know if I should go ahead and do the medicals and upload via Web forms or I should wait for them to instruct me.

ii) I also want to know if I should inform IRCC immediately if I decide to defer my admission to the winter semester.

Ircc will confirm receipt via mail or you see it in your gcms notes.

I applied on 24th May, did my biometric on 26th May, rose two different webform in July and same day I did medicals and updated my medical data form this is to give additional documents for my application, there was no response so I went ahead to do my medicals on 12th August, got a pass on 16th August. I would like to know if the reason for the delay is the webform I rose?

PPR dropped this morning at 6a.m
I have applied for tourist visas two times before. The first one was approved, I visited once and came back to Nigeria.
The second one which I submitted since last year April is still pending till now.

I applied for study permit 12th of April, 2021.
Ghost update once.
No update whatsoever. Eligibility requirement has still not started till now.
School resumes September 7 and I was scared I wont meet up, but all glory to God, I am sharing my good news that my PPR dropped this morning.
I am 23 years old and going for Alternative Dispute Resolution in Humber College

It has been a rollercoaster but I thank God for his intervention.

The only purpose mail is serving is to receive the gcms note from the company providing the service to you.

Got a refusal yesterday based on personal assets and financial status. Such a sad and discouraging feeling after waiting for so long since April. Like why not make a decision on time so someone can reapply again before September.

Try judicial review if you think the Visa officer was wrong.


You can also re-apply.

Dear Team, I submitted my school visa application form online on the 10-06-2021 and I did my biometric fingerprint on the 18-06-2021. My school will resume on the 07-08 of September 2021 but they haven't yet called me for medical and am somehow worried since school will resume next month. I have come to give God all the praise and encourage someone here who's reading.
We need to just believe, have patience and pray that all will end in praise.
I put in my application on 15th March, 2021. Did my biometrics on 19th March, 2021.
I wasn't hearing from them, no update ..nothing. I even had to defer my program because of the delay. I was sending emails and webforms everytime. The responses I was getting were APPLICATION STILL UNDER REVIEW. To God be the glory, I just received my PPR today, infact this morning. It will surely end in praise for all of US

I just want to share my application timeline to give someone hope.

Application Date: 15th March, 2021
Biometric request: 16th March,2021
Biometric done: 19th March,2021
Medical request: 15th July,2021
Medical passed: 23rd July, 2021
BVL: 7th August, 2021

Very much understand. Sometimes ago, a whatsapp group was created to avoid spamming nairaland. It was created to disturb ircc on Twitter when there was ppr drought. When ircc started dishing out ppr, we decided to stop. You will meet likes minds and those that were also delayed there. You past time, catch cruise and forget your sorrows while also waiting and you got people to call and give emotional support when you are down.

I have a question. Can a brother who has applied through express entry route to Canada with his family be able to sponsor his younger brother's study permit application to Canada. Especially if there is sufficient proof of funds.

Will it be a red flag to the visa officer? Considering that it is the same bank statement that will be submitted.

Not a red flag in anyway. It's a good one since fund is sufficient.

In a recent GCMS notes I saw, application was transferred to different office 15 times due to workload (stated on the note) - May till July 20th.

During this period, many secondary offices will change. The primary office is constant except on rare occasions.

Our prayers is that we will share a testimony of success in this process. As I have been saying; There's a God factor in this process whether you acknowledge or not.

I feel same too but even Kenya (Nairobi) does not totally or rather have control over a single application.

For instance, an application case analyst or junior V.O is in Nairobi, the 'said' Senior V.O of your application is in second office (London or Windsor).

So if the case analyst has done his/her part, it will remain the SVO. That's why you see some GCMS note, eligibility passed or recommend interview will wait for days or weeks even months before a final verdict is released.

The process is just too decentralised hence the delay. We hope they remedy it soon enough.

So I duno if it’s allowed here but I don’t intend to break the rules.

I felt I can share what I gained. I recently listened to an Instagram live discussion on KSA’s page with an ex-VO, Annie who is now an immigration consultant.

It was helpful as I was able to see through the eyes of a typical visa officer. Even though their views may vary as everyone is different. it was insightful hearing from the other side and what she generally thinks about the high visa refusals from Nigeria.

Hello house my cousin just got his Gcms record came in today and his application status is still In progress since February.

It state that requirements met, eligiblity and criminality passed.

But his not yet ask for IELTS, medicals.

He did his medical two weeks ago ( upfront) application now state that his passed medicals but it wasn't stated in the GCMS record, I feel maybe because his applied for GCMS before doing medicals.

Those his mean his application will be approved.

Program: Practical nursing May 2021 (Sheridan college)- clearly can't go for May 2021 anymore due to delay, will go for Jan 2022 session!
Upfront medical : April 28, 2021 ( we said let's do medical to see if it will speed things up, lol jokes)
Medical passed: June 14, 2021 (just see how long it took them to update medical!)
Eligibility started: July 23, 2021
PPR and correspondence letter: this morning July 27th @ 4:34am!

What a wait! Basically this application took 5 months and 16 days. I remember I considered withdrawing the application at some point, but you all encouraged me to hold on! During this waiting period, 3 gcms notes were ordered and the fourth one has been ordered as well. All the gcms notes received didn't have much info as eligibility was blank. Each time I got the gcms notes, I was always disappointed that eligibility was blank. Now that I think of it, I guess it's not a bad thing...

I just want to use this medium to thank everyone for their support through out this journey! This is a wonderful platform and we all draw strength and hope from one another! One thing that helped me during the long wait was seeing other people's approval postings. I was always encouraged by those success stories. I remember telling myself that my testimony was near when DD097 and demure got approved as we all applied around the same time and faced this delay..

In short, this is a wonderful platform and I hope more people get to know about the wonderful support we have here! Thanks to all the gurus and everyone that tries to assist others with their questions! If you have any questions for me , please feel free to ask here so others can learn from it ! I'm rooting for all my co- February applicants and any one with a delayed application and of course everyone on here , that you will all get a favourable response soon in Jesus name!
