Politics / Re: Northern Leaders Caution Tinubu Against Approving French, U.S. Military Bases by LegendHero(m): 7:28pm On May 04
They should bring the base to SW then if they don’t want it in the North.

I don’t know the merit/demerit of the base to Nigeria yet as you can’t just talk without thorough research on the effect judging from Nigeria peculiar case.

But if the necessary security/economics/strategic analysis is done and it turn out to be a positive, I don’t see anything bad in it.
Politics / Re: Minimum Wage, Maximum Deceit And Moral Cowardice- Kperoogi by LegendHero(m): 7:22pm On May 04
This Farook just write for writing sake.

The government never claimed the wage adjustment is their minimum wage so how does that relate to minimum wage?

Minimum wage will still take effect just that truly the government have dragged feet too much. They should have implemented it by now instead of wasting time this much.

Also, this Naira floating and subsidy removal is taking a huge toll on Nigerians but I kinda like that it was done. For the past decades, economics have been blabbering and abusing all government that “float the naira” , remove fuel subsidy and automatically Nigeria become America.

Now that we have done it, people have seen that Nigerians are not well enough to carry the burden themselves. FG must understand that if within the first 2 years, things don’t calm down to a bearable level, people might not be able to continue to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Stop being daft. Go and see how south east votedmfor Obasanjo, GEJ and Buhari in 2015. Even in 1999 SW voted overwhelmingly for Falae. Now they are attacking Obi while having short memory for 1999

You too stop being daft. Go and see how SW voted for Yaradua in 2007, Jonathan in 2011, Buhari in 2015, and Buhari in 2019.

All through that years I mentioned, we have Yoruba men on the ballot and we chose to vote other tribes.

With the exception of Lagos colony you were not different from the rest of us.

My ancestors in Ibadan weren’t climbing trees during that period coz Oyo empire gave them some leverage. Ijebus are master traders at that point and Oyo people trade with merchants from North Africa. We are fully clothed and developed in African standard for that period.

So never in your life group us and tree climbers together!

You are funny chief. Awolowo is better than the great Zik of Africa? How?

You said what did Zik do for Igbos. Hmmm. I graduated from UNN a school founded by Zik in Oct. 1960.

The economy of Eastern Nigeria in the 1950s and 1960s was rated amongst the highest in the world due to Zik's pragmatism and Michael Okpara's policies.

Zik made the Igbos to be at the forefront of Nigeria's politics in the 50's and 60's and you say Awolowo is greater than him.

Sir, I respect Awolowo and I wish Zik and Awolowo put their egos because their partnership would have been beneficial to the country.

But I wouldn't tolerate any Zik slander. He was the biggest politician in his time and the Biafran movement didn't gain much international prominence because Zik believed in one Nigeria to the core.

Biafra would have succeeded if Zik supported it because he had the clout and international connections.

Hear yourself, when we asked what is Zik contribution to the Ibos, you mentioned university. University wey people dey find, did Awo not found OAU?

There was never a time where Eastern region economy was better than the Western Region. No time because even in the national archive where you have the production and output of each region, Western Region have always led the park.

Anyone that say Zik is better than Awolowo needs to have their brain checked. Even Zik won’t rate himself in terms of verifiable achievements than Awolowo.

Some of you are unredeemable tribalist. You need to study history. Awolowo was the brain behind the blockade of the eastern region during the civil war that led to the starvation of Igbo children. Secondly he was the Finance Minister when he decided on the £20 policy that made the SE lose all their savings after the war.

I might be Yoruba but when I see the truth I will say it. If it were you would you vote for him? It was personal against Awo.

It was their choice to vote Peter Obi in 2023. How is that a crime. He was the youngest and most technical and I know Igbo guys that supported Osinbajo until he lost primaries. Rest.

I am surprised to read that obj scored 99.9% in Ogun state too. I participated fully in 2003 election in the state and even though PDP won the election around my area but the difference should never be this much but I remember there's a case of about 500,000 unknown vote figures in favor of the PDP in Ogun state that year Sha maybe that's what further make the margin wider

The rigging is too evident. It was easier for OBJ because everything still seem analog in 2003 era.

How is Awolowo better than Azikiwe? Both of them were cerebral and Nigeria would have been better if any of them were the Executive President instead of Shagari in 1979.

So the S/E voting for him wasn't a case of tribalism but a support for competence.

Besides, you said Ojukwu was a weakling in politics because he lost a senatorial election? He lost because his party NPN wasn't grounded in the East like the NPP.

Besides, Ojukwu said his intention was to align the South East with the NPN which was the ruling party. Don't forget that was the party that made Shagari and Ekwueme President and VP respectively.

Ojukwu wasn't a neophyte in Eastern politics. He and Azikiwe never agreed politically even though they were brothers.

Many things sup for that 1979 elections my chief.

Awolowo was better than Azikiwe in many folds.

At the top of your head, can you mention 3 things Azikiwe did for the Ibos or for Nigeria that everybody can relate to whether as an Igbo or as a Nigerian.

When they mention Azikiwe, what is the first achievement people attribute to him?

—Go on Twitter, it is tribalism all day.
—Go on Facebook, it is same tribalism
—Even on TikTok, Gen Z kids are catching on the wave too.

Nigeria tribalism is now on steroids, there is nothing Seun can do at this stage. People will still find a way around it and continue either ways.

So you guys would rather play open tribalism but delude yourself in your brain and say “We are not tribalist”.

South East had Ojukwu as a presidential candidate in 2003 against Obasanjo and Buhari, but Ojukwu lost the presidential election in all South East states including his home state Anambra. Most SE states voted for Obasanjo

Ojukwu is not a strong candidate in 2003. Infact the weak guy lost a senatorial election even in his own Anambra.

Also, Obasanjo wrote votes in 2003 and it was one of the most rigged election ever with that of 2007.

Man wrote almost 99% for himself in Ogun state. Even Jesus himself cannot have such vote.

When you vote for your Yoruba presidential candidate, as it has always been since time immemorial, it's not tribalism but when the SE votes for a candidate from the SE, you get agitated and shout tribalism.

You are an ethnic bigot, LegendHero

I am an ethnic bigot. I love that and I never denied that.

It is you that is hypocritically trying to claim you ain’t an ethnic bigot when all statistics point to that.

Data doesn't lie.

The south-east is and will always remain the most detribalized ethnic group in Nigeria.

It is the only geopolitical zone in this country that votes based on the competence and capacity of the candidate to perform rather than the ethnic background of the candidate.

Stop saying what you don’t know. When SE field a Ibo candidate that is in the top 3 choice, they will always vote that candidate.

In 1979, SE voted Azikiwe overwhelmingly. Can you beat your chest and say Azikiwe was better than Awolowo?

Even in 1983, same pattern replayed itself.

Ojukwu is a weakling in politics. He couldn’t even win a senatorial election let alone a national election. All through your years of voting PDP since 1999, you’ve never had any strong Ibo that break into the top three until Obi.

Below is 1979, now repeat the statement “SE don’t vote tribalism” again.

Nigeria is illiteracy and poverty capital of the world but you'll find anyone else insulting people about poverty and illiteracy than Nigerians themselves grin grin grin grin

Before you start complaining about valuations keep in mind that your Naira is rapidly becoming useless grin grin grin

Furthermore, you see that particular part of Lagos? 90% of real business is done in dollars to circumvent the USELESS naira. Rents, school fees and especially real estate... its all mostly in dollars. Some will even tell you it is because of the high number of rich foreigners living there but it's really that. Just the fear of inflation only very rich people have. It's that way in parts of Abuja. I had to pay dollars for my house and it is not too far from that Landmark beach.

Additionally, in the world of law and high finances, when a profit yielding asset is demolished like that you don't factor in only the price of the roofing sheets, the cement blocks and the land all around like you are doing That is simple stupidity and ignorance and that's what had me laughing at you. . grin grin grin

How does the nonsense you wrote relate to what we are discussing. Shey na your shikini $300 dey worry you?

Hear me out, if you’ve held money and know worth of properties, you won’t claim Landmark investment is $200m. You are telling me that nonsense is worth 200billion. You must not know money worth for you to claim that nonsense.

This was me at “The Good beach” in 2022 when I dey Naija along that axis. It’s very close to Landmark beach. No beach for that area with all their complex and etc is worth anything close to $200m. It’s like you guys don’t know what’s called $200m. Do you even think Landmark own the beach sand area or what? Most of you are just kids that don’t know value of money.

It is like you guys don’t understand or know what is called $200m.
