rooney is not surplus to requirement, his set piece delivery is rivalled only by leighton baines, he was thrown into the CM position to plug a hole there last season yet he garnered respectable stats. with RVPs injury crisis in rooney's absence who would have started upfront? Chica? or Welbz?? nah! even you with your hate cannot play those 2 ahead of wayne.
rooney might not have the vision of other 10s but he uses pure brute force to forge a way. i prefer Shinji in the hole but this rooney bashing isnt right.

i cannot count the number of times we broke today & there was no one in the box to make himself available for a pass or a cross. that is not how football is played.

rooney is set in his ways, he has always been known to drop deep so any coach who uses him should keep that in mind and play to his style. no one plays traditional No 9s anymore, see negredo for example, he and rooney have a similar style, they both operate the 9-10 axis .
as for me i blame moyes for not signing any players except that bamboo stick with an afro
