PoliticsGhosts Frustrating Me In Benue- Gov Ortom. by legislatively(op): 10:44am On Jul 03, 2017
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has declared that dead workers and some others who are supposed to have retired are still collecting salaries in his state, thereby frustrating his efforts.

He said the development had greatly increased the state’s wage bill to N7.9bn monthly, which he said was too much for his government to handle.

Ortom said this in an interview with State House correspondents shortly after attending a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja during the weekend.

The governor said although he was committed to timely payment of workers’ salary, this could not be achieved with the unsustainable wage bill.

He expressed the hope that a verification exercise, which will last three months, would bring sanity to the system.

Buhari’s Ill-health: What Senator Shehu Sani asked Nigerians to do

Ortom said, “You will recall that I declared a state of emergency on ‎payment of salaries, and I want to have the capacity to pay salaries as and when due because a worker deserves his wages.

“We discovered that there were so many leakages on our payroll and ghost workers and other infiltration here and there.

“I think that a wage bill of over N3.2bn is too much at the state level. And when you add pensions and gratuity, you are talking of about N4.2bn. It is too much for Benue State.

“At the local government, you have a wage bill of N3.7bn. So, if you are talking about N7.9bn for a state, it is not decent enough.

“Ghost workers, those who were due for retirement are still in the service, those who are dead are still collecting salaries and all that.

“So, we believe that at the end of the day, we will be able to scale down to a level that we will be able to pay salaries as and when due.”

PoliticsRe: Watch Nnamdi Kanu's Exclusive Interview With Sahara Reporters by legislatively: 9:33am On Jul 03, 2017
Three apt points he made.

1. Even if my wife becomes the first female president of USA, Biafra will come, Igbo presidency can't stop Biafra.

2. Biafra will come in my life or death, it will even come quicker if I die.

3. Those igbos can only get their investments in Lagos and abuja back with Biafra, they will lose them if they want to get it individually, we shall become the 16th country of ECOWAS, we will take Nigeria government to court and even get additional compensation for trying to seize those properties.

oh!. So your breakup is depended on others following suit. Well think again. Niger Delta is going nowhere.
On your Biafra, the only resources you guys have is red mud sand. Some of you deluded fellows are thinking of importing raw materials through airlift and exporting same way. I ask, to be sold to who excatly? You guys think you can sell your poor quality goods to Nigeria after secession? Think again. Infact, where will you get the dollars from?
who want to take part in a defunct Nigeria, the moment Biafra emerge, Nigeria will cease to exist, even a Nigeria that has access to the sea is still less developed than a country like Austria which is landlocked, is this country not cursed?
PoliticsRe: Biafra Maybe Landlocked But Will Have Access To The Sea Like Switzerland by legislatively(op): 8:59am On Jun 18, 2017
Enice:
You guys are very funny comparing yourselves with Switzerland. The only other country that will be similar to Biafra is Soweto. As Soweto is surrounded by South Africa, so also Biafra will be surrounded by Nigeria. This means that your developmental pace will be determined by Nigeria. Biafra will be one big prison. A refugee camp. You currency will be worthless as toilet paper. Recall Soweto during the apethied period. You will not be allowed to have a military force (army, airforce or Navy). You will only be allowed to have a police and Nigheria will dictate the kind of weppon you carry ( dane guns or okpor) you will need a trade agreement to go through our airspace. So if you think you can fly in and out as you like you are dead wrong. The Anambra oil fields are presently in conflict with the Kogi people. They will be siezed in favour of Kogi state. That of Imo will be ceded to Rivers their rightful owners. So much more to come.
mumu, like nigerdelta will stay, keep dreaming
PoliticsRe: Facts Yoruba Has Been Marginalized, Not Igbo by legislatively: 6:47am On Jun 18, 2017
mohlanforex:
Are you not aware that in 1979, Igbo has only two states, Anambra and Imo whereas Yoruba has four states. Today Igbo has five states and Yorubas has six states. Are you not aware that Igbo has six senators in 1979 whereas Yoruba has twelve senators. Today they have fifteen senators whereas we have eighteen senators. Calculate the percentage increase. Let us ask, who has been marginalized?
They will come to us that those Hausas are bad they are not educated, they are Muslims, they want to Islamise Nigeria, they are this and that yet they will go behind to form an alliance with them.
Strategically they have been reducing our economic potential because they have been able to increase their slots in geometric progression and ours is in arithmetic progression. More slots in Federal appointments whereas ours have continued to reduce.
Are you aware that the Land mass that make up the five Eastern states is not up to Oyo state yet they have been able to create five states out of it.
The first group of people that started trading in spare parts are Yoruba particularly our people from Ijebu-Ode but they have been muscled out of the business.
The idea of Geo-political Zone was mouthed by Ojukwu to favour the Igbo. Now through Jonathan conference they said they are being marginalized because they are the only Geo-political zone with five states. Can you imagine that? From two states. That is what I called strategic thinking. Unfortunately, Yorubas that went to that conference agreed with them foolishly particularly afenifere in the likes of Yinka Odumakin. What a tragedy. Let's ask them, what did Yorubas that attended the conference brought home? The answer is nothing.
The issue of Biafra being championed by Kanu is not by accident, it is a grand design to negotiate for more. Now it is coming out, South East Development commission. Why don't we ask, to be funded by who? If it is agreed they will continue to reduce our economic potential in the Nigerian state.
But, come to think of it why don't you let Biafra be. They are adding no value to us and I can bet you that nobody will miss them. Remember that they fired the first shot that started Nigerian civil war. Killing Tafawa Balewa, Ahmadu Bello and some notable Yorubas.
Of recent, Chinue Achebe wrote a book "There was a Country". Accusing Awolowo of committing Progrom. What a tragic write up. The question to ask is who started the war? Can I continue to feed my enemy to have more strength to battle me.
Igbo would never change. Domination is in their blood and they can only be satisfied if they have what belongs to you and you have not.
Yoruba E Ronu yin o
you are not different from the northern arewa youths with this crap you put up, Nigeria will be safer if your likes can be stoned to death.

Below shows the map of two rivers connecting abia/IMO state and afikpo in ebonyi state directly to the sea. Even Switzerland can make something out of river Rhine that is very far away from the ocean, this two accesses are child's play.

PoliticsBiafra Maybe Landlocked But Will Have Access To The Sea Like Switzerland by legislatively(op): 6:05pm On Jun 17, 2017
Port of Kleinhuningen, Switzerland is the major port in the country, Switzerland is connected to the sea via river Rhine and this port is located along the river. Its even more amazing because the river is even very far from Switzerland from where it connects the sea in Netherland, passing through the whole of Germany before getting to Switzerland. River Rhine is much more thiner and less deeper than IMO river but this river is a saving grace for Switzerland. Now we should ask ourselves why Switzerland is still as prosperous as any other European country despite her landlock status. River Rhine is the answer, an economic lifeline

Below are the pictures from the port and the map showing how Switzerland connects the sea via river Rhine.
