I wonder why the restive youths of the north has not gone on rampage against their present and past leaders. Their people have been in power for majority of time yet it has not translated into a better life for thst region. That region is still ravaged by poverty, illiteracy, sickness and diseases.
Imagine what this money could have achieved if invested in their education, hospitals, infrastructure, etc.

This is interesting. No wonder every politician in Nigeria and even in African respects and pays IBB homage. He wilds a lot of political influence. NAN reports that 26 private jets and four police and air force aircraft landed in Minna today being Friday 12th May, 2017 for the wedding of former President Ibrahim Babangida’s daughter.

The aircraft brought the various dignitaries that attended the event. The police also provided air surveillance and security. Former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience, Senate President Bukola Saraki and former vice president Namadi Sambo were at the wedding.

Business moguls Aliko Dangote and Tony Elemulu, as well as members of the Federal Executive Councils including Ministers of Interior Abdulrahman Danbazzau and Defence Mansur Dan-Ali as well as Minister of state for Solid Mineral Development Abubakar Bwari.

The daughter of IBB, Halima is the last child of the family and she is marrying a Gombe businessman, Alhaji Auwal Abdullahi.

Abdullahi gave 10 cows and N500,000 as dowry for his bride and if you don't yet know, the groom is the Sarkin Sudan of Gombe, in Gombe state. Gen. Garba Wushishi performed the symbolic ceremony of handing over Halimat at 2.45 pm in marriage to Abdullahi. Gov. Ibrahim Dankwanbo of Gombe state received the bride on behalf of the groom, who hails from the state.

Like Sonala Olumhense rightly puts it, GEJ is the accused trying the judge in his own courtroom.

If you must be told in plain words, those Northern leaders are useless and cannot influence many people to vote for or against anyone. They aren't as influential as they made him believe.

Buhari lost against this same Jonathan in 2011. Do you think he did because the core Northerners voted for him against Buhari? Hell no! Buhari lost because both the Southwest and Middle Belt voted massively for GEJ. Make no mistake, these are some of the regions that vote based on stats only, and not out of sentiment.

In the end, what did these two regions get in return? Your guess is as good as mine. I don't mean this as in direct benefits; I do in the general sense.

As a Punch editorial by Olumhense puts it, GEJ lost because "His electoral campaigns were built on lies he never attempted to implement, he openly approved of corruption, and under his management Nigeria grew from poorly-managed to unmanageable."

If we faced the same situations again with the same players, I bet the same scenario would play out.
