Jesus is the one who qualifies each believer to enter heaven. Left to you alone, you don't have any righteousness to present before God, because you don't even have any except the righteousness of Jesus. Now, does God allow us to keep on living in sin and still have the hope of heaven. No, God expects you to live according to the grace or level of righteousness He gives to you per time, and keep on striving or hungry for a higher level of righteousnes. He knows you are not perfect yet, you can't live a perfect life just at once, it is a gradual process, but because He has given you His Holy Spirit, a perfect life to say, so He expects you by the help of the Holy Spirit to keep striving and hungry to actuallly live a perfect life of holiness He has given unto you, because you are in Christ. For example, when your baby is less than six months, if he poos on the bed, you don't punish him, because you know he is not matured or wise enough not to do that. But when he is above five years and he poos on the bed, you beat him thoroughly, because you know he is wiser and matured enough not to do that. Thesame thing God does to us, there is a level of holiness He has given you grace to operate at, if you now knowingly fall below that level, He punishes you thoroughly, all you need to do is to ask for forgiveness, He will forgive and you move on again, but He expects you to live above the level He has given to you.
