H jmoore: VAT is not paid by government. VAT is paid by customers.
Someone will buy mtn card and make a call in Aba and the VAT will be wrongly categorized under Lagos because MTN headquarters is in Lagos.
There is no real record of what each states generates from VAT because Nigeria lacks a model that tracks VAT at point of sale/consumption. My friend stop making flimsy excuses, the south east economy is in shambles, when your oga told you to be sitting at home on mondays, so you don't know it will have a negative effect on the south east productivity. |

= nairalanda1: I doubt that if you owned a refinery, you would sell fuel from there at N50 per liter to make it affordable and accessible to all Nigerians, after refining one liter from crude for at least N700 per liter.
Life is not fair, pretending that fuel was cheap wrekced 4 government refineries, and chased away much needed investment. All because we wanted cheap fuel that anytime government tried to bring some realism in 1987, 1992, 1993, 2005 and 2011/12, and even in 2015, y'all kept saying no.
Same issue with power supply. My friend, curruption spoilt the refineries, not cheap price. If the price they are selling cannot cover the cost, can't they say so and adjust the price. |

You only say that kind of statement to someone who has done something that doesn't make sense. You are actually telling her she is still a baby, that is why she lacks wisdom. Parent's who don't show love to their children should not expect love in return. And while our generation might excuse our parents' inadequacies and love them anyway, we must not expect our own children to love us unless we earn such love. You are a wicked person. A woman that carries the pregnancy of a child for nine months with pains, did not abort the child, fed him with her two breasts till he is able to crawl and walk, fed him till he becomes a teenager, now even for one reason or the other, if she is not able to continue, has she not done something? |

SonOfDSoil01: don’t mind them. A lot of people are so ignorant and don’t do their research before travelling. My immediate younger sister as also been in the Uk with her hubby for 7yrs now. Though they are doing good for themselves because they now own their own house but she is still complaining about the harsh reality of living in the Uk as a migrant and how govt policy is now even making so difficult for them because the taxes are so draining and it’s just seem you are working for the Uk govt to better their economy because their economy is more dependent on tax. She share a lot of stories of people who left decent jobs here in Nigeria for uncertainty and some still paying the money they borrowed from people in Nigeria before they left…most of the developed world are now making tougher migration policies just to discourage migration. Just like some people rightly mentioned, anyone planning to migrate now should do a thorough research about the country he/she is migrating to and also importantly, you must have skills in a certain field that will earn you a job. Most of them who failed to do this are living with regret and are ashamed to return home. But why should a person be complaining of paying tax, when you can see clearly what is being done with the tax. Sequrity, good water, 24/7 electricity, good health care system, you can afford to eat anything you want. |

Career › Re: Woman Shares Her Staff's Response After Receiving Salary From Her by Lekby25: 7:52am On Nov 23, 2025 |
Nazgul: Thanking your boss for paying you for services you rendered seems awkward to me.
Your salary is not a gift. It’s not charity. It’s not a personal favour. You showed up for 30 days, dealing with stress, deadlines, pressure, sickness, unexpected tasks...etc, and all the wahala that comes with the job. Yet you still gave your best to keep the company moving. That is value. And value deserves compensation.
Sadly, a lot of Nigerians have been conditioned to see basic their rights as privileges. So instead of standing confidently on the fact that you earned your pay, they act like the boss did them a special favour by releasing the salary they already worked for.
Yes, you can be respectful, professional, and appreciative of good working conditions, but collecting your salary is not something you should feel indebted for. You’re not being blessed, you’re being paid what you deserve.
It’s time people started valuing their effort and understanding that compensation is a Right, not a privilege. In Nigeria, not all employers pay salaries regularly. So that gives chance for any employer paying salaries regularly to be appreciated. |

His sister wanted to wear it for a wedding. He didn’t buy it for me. He’s now really upset and has refused to talk to me for 3 days now. Our wedding is in 4 months and I am contemplating getting out of such a relationship. Please advice You can give the items to her and not collect them back again. Not everyone likes wearing something someone else has worn before. Please do this only if you know you really love the guy from the depth of your heart and you don't want to loose the relationship. If you don't really love the guy as such, you can call off the relationship. |

FreeStuffsNG: It's envy I see in you. That some people didn’t work hard to leave you such a golden name does not mean you can't leave a golden name for your children.
This platform you are enjoying and abusing to express your envy is from the descendant of one of the ones the legacy of the Sage, Pa Awo produced.
If Nnamdi Kanu was not convicted openly yesterday with incontrovertible facts beyond every reasonable doubt that disgraced even those who joined him to dance on the graves of his own people who were largely his victims, another generation of liars would have packaged all his mental case lies and fed it to another generation in the South-East who would later grow up with hatred and bitterness for other Nigerians, especially the Yoruba and Fulani.
Awo Lives On. We don't denigrate our forebears and leaders in Yorubaland.
