BusinessRe: Which Nigerian Bank Do you Use and Why? by leketoye(m): 4:12pm On Aug 05, 2006
Hmm Nice useful discussion.

Me I have 3 accounts with GTB and 2 with First Inland. All with reasons.

1. First account is a personal current account with GTB. I used it for business at the beginning sha. Really they are the bomb. Beautiful, well behaved staff, efficient online banking, email notifications on all transACTIONS. Tell me what more can you ask for?

2. Account 2 is the Corporate Account for my company. Also with GTB. Expo for competitors: GTB is one of the reasons why we manage to be so efficient at GoldNairaExchange. Once a customer makes a payment, we can logon to our account to confirm immediately. So we always act fast. Faster than the others actually.

3. Account 3 is my dollar account with GTB. Never had a bad experience with them.

4. Account 4 is my FlashMe Cash Account with First Inland Bank. This service stands this bank out. It's the best local money transfer service in Nigeria today. Imagine, I go online to send money to people, pay for services, download gsm vouchers, send gsm vouchers to people, pay dstv bills. Men life doesn't get better than this. I actually get a lot done from my room with this account. All the other party need do is have a gsm phone. I even met the lady that heads this department of the bank (she beautiful).

5. My last account is (don't laugh o) my corper account. Yes o, that's where nysc pays my monthly allowee. I hardly use that account anyway. Later this month, when I pass out, I will clean out the account and maybe abandon it.

So that's it for me and Nigerian Banks.

Poems For ReviewThe Tyrant (an Ode To Abacha) by leketoye(op): 8:03pm On Jul 26, 2006
The Tyrant

While in power
He was a strong tower
He ruled the land
With an iron hand

His grip was firm
All through his term
He conquered all
Made the democrats fall

He looted the mint
Carted away currency prints
Feared by many
Not admired by any

His closest allies
Held for him rallies
When the ovation was loud
He was too proud

Then his sun set
In the Indian girls' net
And when he left
Not a man ever wept

men, i noticed this same thing on my intercellular connection since last december.
I just abandoned the fone. NOW I'M OUT OF LAGOS. But when i get back next
month, I'll be moving to multilinks. They are good.

Intercellular sucks. I won't even bother trying to bypass their firewall.
For me it's been bye bye to intercellular.

Poems For ReviewBeauty And The Death by leketoye(op): 8:08pm On Jul 15, 2006
BEAUTY AND THE DEATH

Beauty, I know she was called
Though I never called
Her pretty eyes, I'm sure
Made me trip some more
Her long legs, still so straight
A solid base for her figure eight
Ever felt her shapely curves?
I dreamt I did with my gloves

A block away she lived
I never could have believed
I always prayed for the day
We two would chat away
Just when I thought I would
I learnt I never could
She laid peacefully, covered with dust
Death had done its worst.

I started this thread and I've just been reading to see what you
guys think about it. Looks like it's a popular one.

So the next thing should be that we should start making concrete
plans and preparations.

The venue will be in Lagos, so let's suggest specific venues.
I say Regency Halls and Hotel Behind MKO Abiola Gardens Ikeja.

And any other useful suggestionshuh What do you guys think?

I'm happy you guys like the idea. As for security, of course we can work out a good arrangement. And as for you guys coming from foreign lands, you'll be surprised we'll give you a run for your money. We'll match you ride for ride, baffs for baffs. Don't be 2 sure men.

So let's get down to the planning if it's cool. But Seun hasn't said anything o. Let's hear what he thinks too.
Your opinions guys and gals.

Hi Nairaland Ppl,

I'm just wondering whether we can have a party for us somewhere in Lagos. I mean, nairaland is so large now and we should act like a real community. Please let's deliberate on venue, time and logistics. I suggest somtime during the
Christmas holidays in Lagos. What do you think?
