Hmmm, I've seen this kind of thing before oh. When I was in the university, there was this guy in my class, was son of a minister and smokes weed. Actually he wasn't violent, doesn't smoke cigarrete and doesn't drink much. We lived in the same flat. And he had this girlfriend also in our class. She was about the most brilliant girl in my class, beautiful, well behaved and all. At first we thought she didn't know about his weed smoking but later it was clear she knew. We were all expecting her to break up but for where?? To cut long story short. They are now married with a kid. Weed or no weed. |
I see it happen all the time. women proposing to men. Guys haven't you been in a relationship and the girl keeps asking when you are going to take her to the altar even when you haven't asked her to marry you That's it. |
Single and very happily so. But I gat a really cute girl friend that appears serious enuff sha. @ Germanlady Our paths haven't crossed since we exchanged words. Sorry about that time sha. (hope you understand what "sha" means) |
@ samo I was at SADC on wednesday. Gues you are back in PH now. Anyhow my number is 08028281192 text me or something abeg. We really can work together. |
Oh thanks again bro. At least you added a word to my vocab. And could it just be that the poem was an emotional outburst? That;s what I think happened. Most of my poems are anyway. Do you honestly think i'm ripe for the publisher's? |
Rest In Peace brother. A few people told me we look alike. |
Ugwunmba's knowledge of the Bible has shown the light and darkness has fled. There's one lesson in this for me. I gat to study my Bible real good. |
@ samo, Samuel Iyibo. How are you now? Do you remember me?? Oyeleke Toye of Cyberkonsults. Bro it's been longgggggggggg. I can see you are still keeping it real. Keep in touch. I'm here www.goldnairaexchange.com and www.netkonsults.com |
I dumped intercellular for multilinks just about a month ago. So far, I haven;t enjoyed their service. I'm disappointed. |
oh thanks bro. "bravo" i understand that. "soppy side" ?? Please what does that mean. Well I'll only be too glad if my poetry can appeal to the average man because I view poetry as a form of expression and I believe it is the responsbility of a poet to pass across his message to anyone with an average education. For me, when it takes a Professor to appreciate your poem, you are a failed poet. I want to be able to see the average man on the street pick up my Poetry Collection and understand almost every poem in it. I may be wrong but that's what I think. Thanks anyways. |
mathways, you are bringing up old sweet memories for me. In 1996, I was at the Jets Competition at the State level in Ogun State. Men it was real raw fun. I led 4 of us from Nigerian Navy Secondary School Abeokuta to represent our Local Govt. area ( funny thing is I can't even remember the LGA name). I crashed out at the quaterfinals, only one of us made it to the semifinals where he crashed out too. We were the ajebutter boys in the competition. We camped at Abeokuta Grammar School while the competition held at Baptist Girls High School. The Baptist girls were all over the Navy boys. Guy I was PROUD to be a Navy boy. It was real real fun. The funny thing is that the guys that made it to the finals were guys from Baptist boys, Iganmode Grammar school and Abeokuta Grammer school. No biff intended, these guys found it difficult putting together a sentence in English. It was fun for me sha. I enjoyed it thoroughly. There were a few scandals involving navy boys. We were discussed by everybody. Set boys, that's what we were. |
Ayo you are an excellent writer. And even though I never ever met Pastor Bimbo, your narration has evoked some deep emotions. You know what?? When I'm gone I want to written about this way too. |
Reviews, criticisms welcome. Prisoner Of Love My eyes are blind No more do I control my mind I fear to be insane For want of one I can’t obtain Indeed, born a free man Now, no freer than a sailing seaman Even when my hands bear no chain My heart aches with pain I suffer the pains of affection Of mildness, and weakened emotion Of attention given, not returned My expression of love ignored Thou fairest lily of the valley My heart bleeds. Can’t you see? If only you will accept me I shall again be free The birds shall of love, sing Again, the bells of Cupid shall ring Oh wishes! Reality lies above I am only a prisoner of love. Culled from the soon to be published collection "Beauty And The Death" (c) Oyeleke Toye 2005 |
@daviddylan my brother, tread softly oh. If these folks declare a fatwa on you, you'll be on your own oh. |
@davidylan, Guy I hope there's no clue whatsoever as to your location on your profile. |
Signonafrica sucks. They ruined 2 of my websites and almost ruined me. I personally wouldn't go near them. |
Hi standout, What exactly do you have in mind?? Do you want to share the office space and share the rent?? Or are you offering something else in return?? |
Could be true. |
KAG:Guess i now know why only stubborn foot soldiers get killed in the thick of war. They are usually too thick skulled to notice that their generals have retreated. Wake up KAG , even General Seun has beaten a quiet retreat. If you have folks back here in Nigeria, let them go and investigate the story on your behalf. And remember feel free to jump into the lagoon if you don't believe. |
For me there's really not much left to say. I'm just waiting for General Seun and his foot soldiers to ask for the contacts' details (phones and ADDRESS) so they can go and investigate the story. Until then they remain COWARDS. Doubting cowards at that. I rest my case. |
I like your poems. One doesn't need a phd to understand your message and you still try to keep it entertaining. Keep it up. |
I'm waiting for them to ask for it. |
@queen2 Yep ghost hunting. Do you want to try?? Should I send you the details Or are you waiting for Seun to take the lead![]() |
@chy92 Thanks for your very sensible post. I actually gave an abridged version of the story for brevity. Now check this out, when we were in the bus from Ikoyi to Obalende, we met a procession of mourners. They were carrying a coffin. It didn't mean anything to me at first. But then the girl took unusual interest in the procession. Then she asked me if there was a cemetry around there. I didn't know and I didn't want to know. So I told her there was none. She looked at me and said I was wrong. Then she gave the name and description of the closest cemetry. That to me was strange. Remember she was supposed to pay me a visit. When I tried giving her descriptions to my place, she waved me aside and said she knew everywhere in Lagos and she was serious. That too struck me as strange. You know what?? If my roomate hadn't gone to her street and found out she was dead, she would have visited as promised. And about going to find out if her body was really buried, please spare me. I didn't know her when she was alive neither did I kill her. God has been kind enough to me. Why shoud I tempt Him? But wait if there's anybody here that wants to investigate this whole thing, he can go ahead. I'll supply all the contacts then you can go to work to satisfy your curiosity ( TAKE NOTE GENERAL SEUN). I'll be glad to give you my roomate's phone number, phone numbers of the 2 people that lived on the same street with her and confirmed she was dead, then I'll give you her family's address (It's in lagos and I hope they still live there). Then I wish you luck as you go Ghost hunting. NOTE: JUMP INTO THE LAGOON IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE. |
Hmmm, I started this thread o. Now why on earth would I want to say something that didn't happen happened to me?? What do you guys think I am Well I really don't care whether anyone believes or not. I didn't even make the post to get anyones approval. If you don't believe JUMP INTO THE LAGOON. I don't care.Fact remains that I met that girl that had been dead 3 yrs before and she paid my fare. For those that say it was a demon appearing to be the girl, that sounds reasonable. That nothing happened to me, I give God Glory for that. That's divine. And that takes me to this point where I confirm my views about people on this forum. 1. A great number of folks on nairaland are 1st grade hypocrites. They want to condemn people so they can appear good in the eyes of others. 2. Our General Seun thinks he's the smartest person in the world and his views should rule all the time. Abi what did he say in his profile? (obey me. I own this site). That makes me laugh. 3. There is this group of members that can't express any original view of theirs. All they do is wait for the GENERAL to make his rants and then they support him vehemently (sometimes violently). Unfortunately my thread attracted a few of them. I'm signing out here. I got a lot of work to do. But I say it emphatically again, if you don't believe me, JUMP INTO THE LAGOON. It won't affect me in anyway. |
useful advice thanks. |
@nsofor: on behalf of the popular and established egold exchanges, I welcome you to the gold economy. I run www.goldnairaexchange.com. There's a worrisome observation I made: your site www.digitaldollarexchange.com and www.goldpaynaira.com look dangerously alike ( more like a replica of each other). Tell us are both sites affiliated or what ![]() And please I appeal that you apply, keep and maintain the ethics of egold exchanging in your operations. Welcome. Leke www.goldnairaexchange.com. |
ok thank you evrybody. i'm out . multilinks closes my connection by 7pm. Seun you can't know everything about everything (fact that you own nairaland can't even guarantee that). I'll check back tomorrow. |
Seun in all of my short stay on nairaland, I haven't known you to agree with anyone. You antagonise every other view aside from yours. That's the reason why I'm not willing to prove anything to you. Afterall it's not like i'm entering for a competition to win money. If you will be objective, I'll tell you more details. |
Bobbyaf thanks a lot. I never would have believed it if it did not happen to me. And for the records, it shook it so much that for the next 3 years I didn't get close to any girl enough to have a girlfriend. I've put it all behind me now but my parents still don't know about it. |
That's it.
