This is very strange to me and I can't seem to find references anywhere. Last I checked, 1 year program qualifies you for pgwp so long as your field of study is on the approved list, and your institution is a DLI
Yes it still does, but 1yr program isn't a good plan these days. So, I didn't consider it at all. Also, I thought the person might be married and not single. If married, then college isn't the best deal.

Oh. Thank you so much for this clarification. I think some of the schools I've been looking at are colleges offering graduate programs so this is good to know now. Do you have any advice regarding schools I can apply to for my master's program?
Check google/chatgpt and search for schools that are not very competitive and offers masters program on your intended course.

Hello guys. I have a degree in management and accounting, with NYSC work experience. I'll really like to study Business Analytics as a graduate program in Canada. Any advice on what school is best to apply for, in terms of PR and after school work prospect. (I know nothing is guaranteed but I will like to position myself for the best opportunity possible.) Also, is there any particular reason why I should go for a 2 years program over a one year program (I saw on Youtube that the PGWP duration is the same regardless.

I will really appreciate any advice
To qualify for pgwp now, you have to do study 2yrs program. So, its not the same as 1yr.
Also, for the sake of PR which you're aiming, if you want to study business analytics, it should better be masters and not college program.

Good day all,

I have several documents to upload in the client section, I know how to merge PDF documents, how can I name the documents accordingly before uploading so it won't confuse the visa officer. I don't know how to name each document when merging them together. Someone should please help me out on this issue
On your first page, create a table of content that shows the document name and page to make it easy for whoever is reading to trace. Then merge the documents accordingly. If you can label the heading of each doc, good. And if you cant, no problem. Just make sure your table of content matches each page.

Good day everyone. I need advice on how to start my Canada journey.
I recently graduated from nursing with an okay expected CGPA (expecting between 4.3–4.5), and I'm preparing to take my professional exams this November (yet to take them due to NMCN issues with my school). I also have a 3-year career in tech (frontend development and technical writing).
I'm considering pursuing a master's in public health in Canada, but I don't know if there are good scholarships out there or how easy they are to get. I also don't know if there are better pathways to Canada compared to the masters program route.
Please, I need advice on the right steps to take and the best direction to follow given my situation.
In my opinion, the easiest way to get into Canada with full peace of mind is to learn French and pass the French exam. You get in straight as a permanent resident. Strictly spend a year on it and you are good.

I am grown now and I can afford to take myself to go buy ice cream and meat pies. I know where the staff live, I know where the ice cream and meat pies are made.
And I now understand most establishments don't treat their staffs in eateries well. That's why people don't stay long on the job. In the space of 2 months, you can see several new faces.

It breaks me when I had to realized, my salary will be deducted when I was working in a similar establishment. They remove from your salary for any random reason and you can't challenge it.
I finally got to leave and it felt like I was off shackles. Life has been good
You are in your awareness stage. The awareness world is wide and wild. Things start giving new meanings and turns. The moment you clear the cultural and societal programming off your mind, the moment your rational mind set in, you become enlightened. I will suggest that you delve into philosophy if you haven't.

Also, come with your driving licence so that you can get your G licence very fast. To get into apprenticeship, you mostly need to have a G driving licence if you're in ontario

That's great.
You will still need to start as an apprentice to scale faster.

Since you have an experience back home, it'll be easier to get into apprenticeship.

2. Also, People in Canada, (Ontario especially) are there any educational grants (not loans) to support an MBA student who is a permanent resident (I know about OSAP already)

3. Apart from FB marketplace and Kijiji, where can I find legit apartments for rent

4. Best job sites and Canadian CV template

Please I'm doing my own research, but I also like getting insights from people on ground
If you don't mind getting into trade, go to a trade school and start a trade career as an electrician, pipefitter or others.
You can not go wrong on trade, it is financially rewarding, long-term advantage and easy to be independent in the future.

Not saying white collar isn't okay, but if you don't want to waste and gamble your time,, just go for the one that's sure.

Start as an apprentice, you'll get paid even during your apprenticeship. And after your apprenticeship, sky is the limit.

I am planning something similar for my baby sis 13yes old, arts student. Someone who could teach or mentor her on all subjects. Five days a week, 5 hours a day 400k naira a month as salary and 60k monthly allowance for data and energy For us it is cheaper but for the tutor in Nigeria it is also a lot of money, sitting in the comfort of your room and making money, long term plan.
How can you have an extra lesson of 5 hours a day, is that not too much.

Or the child won't be going to school at all?

TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by leksite120(m):
While the guy ranting might seems loud, he's not very far from the truth. Student visa shouldn't be a problem in the first place if everyone is following the rule (especially the POF). I can tell for a fact that 90% of Nigerians never had real proof of fund. We are so unbelievably over-confident and think we can scale through anything.

While it's possible for some people to be lucky, I mean, getting job not so long after migrating and being able to sort accommodation and feeding. (I didn't include paying tuition because, that's totally almost impossible with a part time job).

While some might be lucky to pay for accommodation and feed, it's certain that majority won't. Majority will wait till five to even a year before they can land a job. This is the reality.

Hoping to fall among the very few minority that may be lucky is an outright stupidity when it comes to planning for even anything in life. It may not be you. It can't be you. In fact, it won't be you. Stop the self-deceit blinded by your religious belief. Drop that hope and plan well. The risk involved isn't about just losing a game. You will lose your millions, your time and return back home.

The worst part is, PR pathway isn't even certain for students any longer. it's getting dimmer, and the current government is looking for every means to pacify the raging citizens. He's losing for sure and he knows that.

If you're coming as an international student which is even a risky investment right now. At least, have a means to survive for a year without job after paying the full tuition. This is just the honest fact. Also, it's better to come for a master program than all these colleges. That's if anyone wants to take the chance.

I would also like to rant my opinion about the canadian government intentional blind eye to fake asylum seekers. I mean, this is the most obvious scam of the century. Everyone in the country knows that 90% of the asylum seekers are fake.

This pathway is scamming the government than anything else. To me, it would have been better if the govt venture their frustration towards them than the international students who mostly at least, have one or two to contribute to the society. At least they are educated and vibrant to some extent. It's sad to see that most international students are very educated and even have masters degree and relevant work experiences that could benefit the country.

The asylum program which the majority is fake is consuming so much from the country and adding very little significance back to the system. From monthly upkeep, to free housing for probably one or two years, and huge pressure on the healthcare system. At least, the students are bringing funds to the country and are not taking advantage of the free social benefits.

I'm also a student and I'm not being selfish. I'm just stating the pure fact, and everyone living in the country understands this.

It's very sad to say, most people who came through visiting visa and instantly claimed asylum, got their claims granted. It's just very unfortunate that such great loophole exists in the system.

People coming through study visa should think twice. The worse of it are even the docile and non-vibrant minded students. There's a shocking incident about a female student who applied to a non-pgwp college. According to her, she didn't realize because her agent didn't inform her. She attended the school for a year in complete and pure sufferness. She had to sleep outside at subway stations and even outside sometimes. This isn't a life anyone should be living just because of japa.

The most unfortunate part is, she is about applying for a second course in the same non-pgwp school again because, she couldn't complete the second semester tuition for the first program untill after the study. Apparently, she had no time and money to process the second program untill after first program when she worked for like 3 months. Because of so many reason, she had no choice than to apply to the same school again meaning, she will get no pgwp for 2 years study.

I'm sure she was one of the people who will be saying, let me enter first. The reality is, you can never beat a system, no matter how intelligent you are.

I'm also an international student who came with my spouse who's on sowp. We both had our first part time and full time job 3 and 4 months after, respectively. We could survive because we've paid our full tuition and can easily live on our both earnings which is more than enough for us. Unfortunately, they've stopped issuing spousal open work permit for college student’s spouse. This could have been a leverage to survival for married ones.

While I'm not saying it's not possible to survive as an international student, I'm only emphasising that the majority will be on the other ugly side of the flip. Just like gambling, anything that has a high chance of losing isn't worth it.

I don't know there was a thread like this.

Well, I would like to share my little story. However, I am not sure it will apply to most people here since you will be coming from Nigeria to just solely give birth, but you can gain one or two from my experience.

My wife and I entered Canada this year as a student while my wife is on spousal open work permit.
She was 8months pregnant when we entered. You might be surprised. Firstly, the bump was not big, it looked like a 5-6months bump and we were able to maneuver the airport wahala.
Though, our intention initially was not to give birth in canada but in Nigeria. However, there was a twist.

The twist was that I was supposed to resume school by September but there was a PGWP policy which will affect me after study cos my school is listed among those the policy would affect. So, I reached out to the school and they gave me an option of resuming earlier which was May intake.

Naturally, birthing and anything medical is free for canadian residents that are working and paying taxes but we were not working then hence, we were not eligible and was treated like a visitor who is not entitled to OHIP which is the ontario health card.

When we arrived, we were on the race and pressure of birthing. We reached out to midwives, but they were all booked. People always book midwives in Canada like 5months before due date.

Note: Midwives services are free for anybody whether citizen or non-citizen or even temporary residents. Midwives are free for anyone of any status in Canada ( that shows how intentional canada is in giving free healthcare) and their services are excellent too. The only problem is that you can't access them immediately, you have to inform them like months before the due date. Infact people normally book them immediately after conception.

Initially, we planned on using my student health insurance for my wife to give birth but it didn't work out cos the conception was from outside canada.

We tried to contact several doctors to at least get a manageable fee to pay, we couldn't. We tried almost all Midwives and Doulas in Toronto.
After all search, we got hold of an organisation, they are more like charity organisation that works with some midwives and they assisted us by getting us a doctor for our antenatal and they also took care of like 90% of our hospital bills and even 2 weeks post natal. We paid just $650 for all these, it was honestly a huge relief as against the almost $10,000 we would have paid.

Our baby now has her own health card for free with no stress right from the day she was born.
But remember, this is something we would have normally been entitled to for free if we have been working and paying taxes.
And I must confess, canadian healthcare is just top notch and they treated us like a human being compared to how Nigeria healthcare treats one, its just horrible.

The only problem they have is their waiting time which doesn't really matter to me cos if there's any emergency (emergency is not until you break your leg or have accident o), you'll be attended to. To me, apart from emergency, I don't think there's any serious reason why one should be bothered about the waiting time.

You simply can't evade Israel. You can run as much as you like but the day the crosshair is on your head is your last day.🇮🇱
well, history disagrees. Israel has been invaded and even conquered multiple times at different moments.
I know you'll not believe me, but Muslims conquered Jerusalem twice at different moments.

Israel of today is just an American extension

I told you DONT MESS WITH THE JEWS!
You mean the Jews that 6milion of them was wasted by just one person. Whooping 6milion.

The same Jews that their land was conquered severally by the Romans, Persians (Iran), Syria, Greek, Turkey and even Palestinians.

In short, everything isn't about religion. It's about current power and capability. It changes real quick. Israel's strength started just around 1950.
It's not even 100years yet. And trust me, the Unitdd states is really a blessing to them.

So stop being a slave. If Jews were anything special, 6milions of them would not be killed by one person's order and nothing was done. And they'll not be running helter-skelter to find a land to settle.
