IMO, Gov Fash is indeed trying, at least making some efforts but he has been overly overrated! I curse each time I drive through Isolo - Ikotun road.
That's my point. That road is like Lagos/Sagamu/Benin expressway in Lagos context. Fashola may as well do somtim abt it or all the so called achievement will be consigned to the dustbin of history.

@Dayokanu, never thought you'll resort to insulting anyone as an objective contributor to this forum but, If you live in Ejigbo/Alimosho axis you'll know my criticism has nothing to do with blocked drainages. A friend had to phone the guy in charge of works as to why the Isolo/ Ejigbo rd under construction since last year has not been concluded and the dude point to the FG not remitting their part of the counterpart funding. Beats me to see how Lagos will progress on these fronts when they've to go to PDP center for funds.

PoliticsRe: Is Fashola Over Celebrated? Or He Is On Vacation by lekyar(m): 2:30pm On Jun 23, 2011
Fashola is overwhelmed with the challenges of infrastuctural developement in Lagos. I am very dissappointed in his performance so far.

Thought he would hit the ground running after the elections. The whole stretch of road between iyana- isolo to Ikotun is a nightmare. Alimosho and the environs has been a no show from his government.

People should really start looking at the opposition for option as the syndrome of a second term has caught up with him. I heard they've hiked the BRT fares!. So the only solution is taxation upon taxation.

Also, there seem to be no checks to the activities of the greedy, heartless, land-grabbing monarchs under his regime, he should check out the untold hardship the oba of Ejigbo is subjecting the poor masses under his domain to as an example.

I remember this same UEFA once charged Eduardo for such an offence.
At best it will be a yellow and i wished the ref had flagged them for it. But that does not detract from the fact that mou's strategy was damn bad and too rough. If Barca was all about play acting how come the team is so badly depleted by injuries that the outcome against R. Sociedad was no surprise. Mou has poisoned the league with his unreasonable comments. Did you see the officiating in the last game Barca had against R.Sociedad the ref was unable to make any calls on bad tackles.

Will Manu fans and their apologists admit defeat if they come up against Barca in a tentative final and lose fair and square I doubt because from many posts on this forum the tone has already been set for a denial of the most possible outcome at wembley.

Galatico if you don't know the rules of the game better stop posting. Malicious intent and the show of studs is the qualifying criteria and Pepe established both also the manner he and a host of others like marcelo had been carrying on was reason enough. I am surprised more were not red-carded in the game and the previous games. PLEASE WATCH THE CLIP POSTED ABOVE.

1-we've all seen that Alves was not even touched

2- The referee is a die hard Messi fan so will favor Messi's team

The German referee, Wolfgang Stark, who will lead the match between Argentina and Nigeria, said “I would love to change my shirt with him, of course. But it would have to be in the locker room, because if not, I should show them the yellow card”.

Stark made public his admiration for the Argentine crack. The referee had already performed in a match in which “La Pulga” played; the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League, in which Barcelona beat Arsenal 4-0.

“I remember the great match he did against Arsenal when he scored four goals against Barcelona. And also remember that he asked me for the ball. Of course I gave him the ball, after scoring so many goals, he deserved it. That ball should be a nice memory for Messi, “recalled the German judge.

Stark now hopes for a return of favors. “I would love to change my shirt with him, but, anyway, and given the quality of the player, I think that several Nigerian players will be very interested in having his jersey.”

“When I found out that I was going to be the referee of Argentina vs. Nigeria, I was very happy because this is one of the most important matches of the group, with one of the favorites,” he concluded.

Meaning? Mou's statement  has uncovered the fact that he is a not so intelligent person. Coach Pep came out of that game the better strategist. If it was the other way round all these Barca haters and mou apologist would've been applauding and singing his praises. Simple put Barca outclassed real on that day and I still stand by my earlier position that if the refs for all the classicos so far were to be fair then the likes of marcelo, pepe and a horde of others would have no business playing on the pitch. Last year's UCL inter were plain lucky and mou was labeled the special one, now he has been hoodwinked by a mercurial coach and his team spell bound by a subliminal team he is crying conspiracy just like Buhari the cpc hoodlum. You cant just walk away with the feeling anytime the two teams square up that Barca was going to run away with the day.

People should stop this cheating accusation as it would not detract from a great and well deserved victory. And BTW as to why other teams end up 10 men against them I would say most times it should've been more in most of the games because they totally out play any team forcing them into 'negative football' as most here would deny.

Sometime people hate their betters (personal experience in school while leading the pack to graduation). That's what all this hating is about. Manu will hate, arsenal, the entire EPL fan base. Because they know whenever their team come up against Barca they just got to roll out the requiem mass. See Rio already running his mouth on twitter instead of doing some soul searching on what was to become of them and their fans after the finals against the mighty Barcalona (hope they don't drop the match against schalker). As to mou and his hordes one more lesson at camp nou and in the words of one of my fav posters here.

WE ARE BARCALONA.

If the police deem it fit to limit the movement of anh individual, then they should go to court and ask for a restraining order. As far as i know, no section of the nigerian law grants police the powers to dictate where and when an individual should visit and at what time.

As a southerner, I vehemently condem this backward act of the Niger state police.

To all those posting extremist comments here, I hope you people wont cry blue murder by the time GEJ is also prevented from visiting some Northern States and/or if his convoy is attacked- none of which i would pray for.
@omo-tier these are not normal times, even Buhari should have already been apprehended or kept under arrest for the mayhem he has instituted as a result of his unguided statements and campaigns of calumny. Buhari won the majority of that election outrightly. All those spewing hatred and polarizing the country will have themselves to blame when their hero is shamed in the international community.

Chris Okotie(from South-south) has called for interim Government

ACN has rejected the results.

More rejection will pour in after the gubernatorial elections.

It is impossible for a man to impose himself against the wish of the majority.
Chris Okotie views are inconsequential. The man lost all respect I had for him when he was asked what he thought about the conduct of the election where he was about to cast his votes and he started spewing rubbish about a conspiracy to rig the election instead of articulating how the process was conducted in his very polling unit (Not so intelligent).
PoliticsRe: Buhari Barred From Entering Suleja by lekyar(m): 10:32am On Apr 22, 2011
whtever being said, Buhari was humiliated by denying him entrance to Niger state. He is a former head of state and a member of council of state.Rather the Police should monitor all his activities and be a serious alert during his stay in Niger.

^^^^ The police did right in turning him back because his very being represents incitement to violence he has become murder personified and a treat to national security and should not be treated with kid gloves. BTW he only came forward to condemn the murderous act when it was too late prolly he had been basking in all the blood letting by his army of almajiris (hypocrite and murderer). Are we not all witnesses to the acrimonious campaign he ran in the north, inciting the idiots to be assaulting the presidents convoy in the north. How about insinuating just before voting in the presidential election that inec where moving thumb-printed ballot papers in the night, How did he expect his army of illiterates to process this kind of accusation if he is so intelligent. All this apologist on NL should bury their heads in shame claiming wild-spread rigging. In my polling unit cpc scored only 8 votes out of an impressive turnout of 250 voters. Believe me people actually turned out to vote in GEJ and the election was free, fair and credible. To the families of the people murdered and the gallant corpers lost in the service of their motherland I pray God to give them the fortitude to bear their loss. All hail the NYSC.

Why are real fans frothing at the mouth, if you did watch that game real players were too physical and rough but the cards were going the other way. The Ref was over-whelmed by the occasion at Benabeu. Not withstanding the game was chiefly one-sided in favor of Barca with Mourinho fielding nine in defense. Can they sustain such physical game on wed. without losing 3 to 4 men on neutral ground. I doubt. Pepe and marcelo should have been sent away as well for displaying such ugliness on the pitch. Mama - gee should discard her ingenious disingenuous argument that playing in several clubs is a determinant in accessing the skill of a player.

SPECIAL ONE: Deflect attention from his Liga failure and hideous tactics as he played with EIGHT defenders to avoid another 5-0 thrashing like at the Nou Camp.

SPECIAL TWO: Pressurise officials both in Spain and UEFA. - "We played well with 10 because we'd prepared to play with 10. I'd like to finish a game with 11 against Barcelona for once.”

SPECIAL THREE
: Get under the skin of his nemesis Barcelona. “Barcelona have a control of every situation around a game which is tremendous. It's difficult to explain and I would like to have it too." Yet ref Fernandez favoured Madrid as he denied Barca a clear first-half penalty when Iker Casillas brought down David Villa.

SPECIAL FOUR: Get his excuses in early before the Copa Del Rey final. "Albiol can't play the final for a foul that was nothing. You can't understand why Alves does not see a second yellow for a foul that is a penalty."
Real's Raul Albiol was rightly sent off for throwing Villa on the floor with the Spain ace ready to score. Madrid's was NOT a penalty as Dani Alves nicked the ball before Marcelo went down.

Congrats to President Goodluck Jonathan, and beaf and all the supporters of GEJ on NL. Supporters of BB and Ribadu I commend you all on your zeal to make your man President. But as I envisaged in my responses to madam Kubo's prodes on my unequivocal belief that GEJ was going to carry the day the elections have so far been diametrical in the voting pattern and we see then SW going for GEJ in the presidential as opposed to what happened in the senatorial/reps elections. This trend will continue in the governorship elections and a bandwagon effect wont play out as expected. Will be voting Fashola hoping keeping him there will not increase the tax regime which is already on the high side and more curbs on the excesses of all the apparatii like lastma , kia etc. Free-est and fairest election so far rigging accusation should be disregarded by the opposition so the nation can move forward. Congrats Nigerians.

BTW why does madam Kubo hate GEJ and Messi so much. No offense intended.
