This January,I boarded this same train..the experience was horrible...I regretted it ....from Abuja to Warri ,First your ticket was validated..and U were told to go n look for anywhere to sit...the reception was over filled...the people sitting outside or squatting were 5times the amount in the reception area,no chairs, no cover from the sun..noise,sun and dust.. thankfully there was no rain that day. Secondly.. the train arrived than an hour late..,no apologies. Then an announcement was made that coach 1and 4 were bad ..and they have been removed ,if U bought tickets in coach 1 which is suppose to be the VIP section,U will now be in coach 2..that how all the coaches were re-numbered..but for those in coach 4.. look for anywhere to sit...that was how I was tossed up n down with my luggage till I luckily found a seat that was not bought by anyone..The journey started 2 hours behind schedule. The train was obviously faulty from the onset, because it refused to pick up speed..finally broken down just a few miles after we left station...they got it running again after about 2mins ...thus began a series of stops n repairs..the train was virtually crawling...I lost count of how many times it stopped in the forest middle of nowhere. We finally got to Warri around 3am..guess what the station was busy like it was day time ,sellers of food n drinks everywhere,cabs waiting to pick up passengers at exorbitant prices...I concluded right there n then that this was a regular trip for the train arriving late ..it was always arriving late otherwise this night market won't exist here. I made a few friends, we told stories and complained about Nigeria till dawn when we left the station,dem born me for Warri ..nothing go make me leave that station 3am in the night,no be only your valuables U fit loss..U fit loose your life join... ironically that was my first train ride ....na to gather money for flight..Aero dey do 75k.. 1hr trip Sorry for my typos 1 Like |

Happening right now.....teachers are queueing up ,writing their names for bags of Rice at the UBE board,...my friend called me to ask if i heard anything about it in SSSB...,they are there at their board now ..he called me from there...please anybody with info on what's happening let us know... |

gold360:we are not all on the same level ,pple who got this Job with masters are a level above us ,people who did education are a step above us too..their salary is bigger than our own,before the difference was 4k...I don't know how much now,people with masters are on level 13.…but we are all 2013 teachers |

darkstan:Teachers that went there from Ogu/Bolo LGA were told that the letters are not ready,at first it was two conflicting memos on schedules for pick up ,they still went there ,only to be told it wasn't ready yet. |

daddy001:if I want to speak truthfully...its of no use...how many pple have U seen teaching by that age 60...they are either principals or disgruntled VPs waiting for their turn to be principals..they don't teach or do any major work..most of them just sit around doing nothing...if they have us Amechi teachers teaching the same subjects..all the load will be dumped on you,while they just sit doing nothing..it's a waste of time..they don't add anything to the system at that age...we just want extra 5years to be collecting salary without doing anything...if I am the the Governor I will pay you your full salary for 5years when U turn 60, but go home ..when U are 65 you will switch to pension..instead to filling up space in the system...let more active n energetic people come in...I have been to primary school where the teachers can't even get up from their chairs due to age..what's the need ...it's all because of money for extra 5years not really because most of us wants to teach or inspire anything 3 Likes |

Emm actually my own don finish...as I pay my daughter school fees, bought books for her for the new session ..buy small food stuff for house ,pay tithe ...tank empty..I am running on fumes..to think that today is just 3rd ..this month is going to be a long one..very long one like some January...but I can't say anything ..e didn't dey ,e didn't dey ..there is nothing we can do about it .... I have just one child o...what of pple that have 3 children...with younger ones and aged parents to take care of?? ,if they complain ,it's not just out of habit....it's difficult bro 1 Like |

everyone should be careful on Wednesday..if possible stay at home and observe....i saw a video of someone saying they will storm some local govts to forcefully remove the chairmen there..while some want to share Cutlass..please we should not be caught in the cross fire ...make u nogo turn collateral damage in your quest for daily bread. |

Kindsoul55:yes..for the pension compaines another sad point is we didnt start immediately and since the promotion is not coming as at when due ...the total amount of money at the end of the service will not even get to 20 million...if they share that money into 3...wetin person go collect and use,how much profit go come out as monthly pension from 1/3 |

Kindsoul55:This thing has alot of issues....Govt is suppose to contribute same amount that is being deducted from us...so we are suppose to have double that amount in our pension account...now govt is not doing their part,for now what is happening at the pension office is that when a person retires..all his contribution will be returned to him or her ,and then he will be paid his gratuity..this is the status quo till 2026...Govt said by that time they will consider paying their part of the contribution or shift it further again...now to the pension issue...the total money gotten at the end of your service (if Govt paid their part)..will be divided into 3...one will be paid to you as lump sum ,one part is for them and the third part will be re-invested and that is where u will recieve your monthly pension from... |

for the past two years ,local pop corn have totally disappeared from the markets here in port harcourt...leaving us with only the foreign popcorn which is now 8500 naira for a custard rubber...twice the price of rice ...yet farmers are not planting it ...the local pop corn i used to buy before pops very well and its just slightly different from the foreign one which is abit softer and opens up more when it pops... but i am sure people will not be willing to over look these tiny details if they can get the local one for a cheaper price....Farmers why is no one planting pop corn again?? |

opinion...most students in rurals schools and even some schools in town always resume one week after the actually resumption date...they dont even go near the school compound on the first week of resumption...i think Govt should always resume a week before the actually resumption... so the students can think that last week of the holidays is the actual resumption date ...and then come main date of resumption ...or maybe it should be for rural schools only,cos i dont see how to solve this age old problem |

i have a voucher for my school here, there is no level 12 in the voucher ..the closest is 13/11 and net pay after all deductions was 151,900 after that its our set ....so nothing in this voucher to use for comparison. 1 Like |

The last training ...more than 90% of the teachers were outside...the hall was too small ..stuffy and dark,no power and the sound system was inadequate...the hall could barely contain 200 people...when dey were expecting up to 2000 or more teachers.... unfortunately they are doing the same thing again....that venue is chaotic for Eleme zone...State primary school Oghale |

AmigdaloidMeteo:this memo must have been prepared by the same pple that did the promotion at the board... they took the old memo of last year changed only the date inside the memo ,then forgot to change the date at the top and the date on the signature...they should be sacked honestly 2 Likes |
