I only pointed out something you will agree is true. . .and I am guessing you understand the language and can piece together the meanings conveyed by the two words in the pseudonym. Don't let me get into details. . .and distract everyone from the topic.

ow11: I have tried to ignore your post because it is filled with texts that show a glaring lack of thought before being written but I couldn't and have decided to reply. I would like to ask you what a buffoon means? It is just amazing that someone would actually believe people brought up in the US are buffoons meaning that Obama is a buffoon, Bill Clinton is a buffoon and other Americans are buffoons. Then Nigerian Americans like Nnamdi Asumogha, Chamillionaire and Uzodinma Iweala are buffoons. Meanwhile Obasanjo is clearly not a buffoon.
Gangs exist in th US and shooting sprees make news because the news media actually do reporting. How many media houses in Nigeria report the random corposes that turn up on Nigerian streets? I hope you are aware that area boys are Nigerians brought up in Nigeria and you should compare Middle class Americans to Middle class Nigerians ( if such a description exists) and cease to compare area boys in America to decent Nigerians.
If a Nigerian in the US raises a bad child then that parent has failed and would also fail if that child was raised in Lagos where drugs, guns and human heads can be acquired without looking out for the police. Flogging a child doesnot necessarily make the child a better person, It just scares the child. The same breakdown of morals in America exists in Nigeria on a greater scale. A country where youthful armed robbers beat up innocent pasengers, students threaten lecturers, Politicians steal money and market people try to cheat you. All these people were raised in Nigeria and yet have no decency in them and people on this thread believe a child telling his mother to shut the f#@k up is the worst thing that can happen in a society. Now, I can see that you have not grown out of your buffon and boffun state - we are talking about kids and children, you come dey ask about adults, you are buffon raised to power 5. |

dtw_sola: Having spent an equal number of my formative years in both the US and Nigeria, I have to say there are pluses and minuses to both. Firstly, I agree with those that say that parenting is the main factor in determining a child's destiny.
I think being a child in Nigeria will stifle your creativity. You do as you're told and don't question anything. Everything is about being obedient, and thinking outside the box is not encouraged. Take for example secondary school in Nigeria. See how everything was: copy notes, cram for exam, cram for WAEC, cram for JAMB. Little emphasis on understanding and creativity. That will never lead to an innovative society, and I think that is a large part of Nigeria (and Africa's) problem
On the flip side, here in this part of the world where kids are given unlimited freedoms, there are many undisciplined, disobedient, self obsessed, brainwashed, oversexed idiots.
If I ever have children and I have the means I will do the same thing with them and have them spend time in both places U are being a miser with the truth. |

You are all goats. If someone is picked up for questioning to aid an investigation, you all start blabbing and saying he has been arrested. Hey fools, there is a difference between someone invited for questioning to aid an investigation and someone arrested for committing a crime.
dont you all get it? Ha! |

anyday - kids brought up in Nigeria are better - kids brought up abroad are boffuns and buffons. Take yourself for example, if you were brought up in Nigeria b4 travelling abroad, dont you think the fact that you lived in Nigeria has made you a better person compare to if you were brought up abroad? |
