Keneking: Yoruba's and Igbos might not support Shakarau but the North shall. If his vice is from SW or SS like Fashola or Adam, them the yorubas will fall behind them. I think the yorubas and igbo are not on the same page right now. The key is Buhari and Tinubu should play their cards right. But for me i'll predates Babagida of Niger and Fashola. |

The federal government has approved N2billion for the printing of 33.5 million permanent voters' cards. The approval was given yesterday at the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan. The new cards constitute the second phase of the 40 million permanent voters' cards printed in 2011 and will be used for the 2015 general elections. Addressing journalists after the council meeting,Information Minister Labaran Maku said after deliberations, the council approved the contract at the rate of N65 per card. He said the contract was awarded to Messrs ACT Technologies Limited with a completion period of six months. "Following the successful conduct of the nationwide voters' registration exercise in 2011, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proposed to print 73.5million voters' permanent cards to replace the temporary voters' cards issues during the voters' registration exercise. The commission printed 40 million permanent cards in 2011 for the first phase of the project which is still in progress. There is the need to print and issue the remaining 33.5 million permanent voters' cards in this second phase," a memo presented by President Goodluck Jonathan at the council meeting read in part. According to the minister, the approval is coming ahead of a proposed scheme that would integrate the national identification cards as voters' cards during the 2019 general elections and subsequent ones. He added that the cards would be embedded with such personal information of the electorate as bio data, photographs and other biometric details. http://m.allafrica.com/stories/201304110826.html/ |

Two Nigerians, Tokunboh Ishmael and Lai Yahaya, were yesterday named as Yale World Fellows. "While Ishmael is an impact investment pioneer, Yahaya is an oil sector transparency advocate," the President of Yale University, Richard C. Levin, said as he announced them as the 2013 Yale World Fellows. Ishmael is an investment professional with over 20 years' experience spanning investment banking, private equity investing, technology and new business development. She is co-founder and Managing Director of Alitheia Capital, a fund management and investment firm based in Nigeria that channels private equity investments into businesses and broadens access to finance, energy and housing for SMEs and low-income households. Ishmael's previous roles include Country Partner for Aureos West Africa, and Mergers and Acquisition banker at Salomon Smith Barney. Ishmael is passionate about transforming lives through meaningful investments that drive job and wealth creation. Yahaya, a policy entrepreneur, is currently Team Leader of the Facility for Oil Sector Transparency and Reform (FOSTER), a donor-funded programme that supports government and civil society in a bid to push for greater transparency, accountability and reform in the Nigerian oil sector. Previously, he was a technical adviser on the Nigerian Presidential Taskforce on Power and worked on the Roadmap for Power Sector Reform. He is an ardent activist for probity, efficiency and best practice in government and the private sector. Ishmael and Yahaya are among 16 World Fellows selected this year, from a pool of about 2,500 applicants. This year's cohort brings the total number of Yale World Fellows since the programme's inception in 2002 to 238, representing 81 countries. The Yale World Fellows Programme is the university's signature global leadership development initiative and a core element of Yale's ongoing commitment to internationalisation. Each year, the university invites a group of exemplary mid-career professionals from a wide range of fields and countries for an intensive four-month period of academic enrichment and leadership training. Four previous Yale World Fellows hailed from Nigeria. They are: Bibi Bakare-Yusuf, Co-founder and Publishing Director, Cassava Republic Press; Hauwa Ibrahim, Research Associate and Visiting Lecturer, Harvard Divinity School; Ibidapo Oyewole, Technical Adviser, National Planning Commission; and Philomena Chinwe Uwandu, Legal Adviser to the Federal Government of Nigeria. "The Yale World Fellows Programme consistently attracts outstanding talent," said World Fellows programme director Michael Cappello, professor of paediatrics at Yale School of Medicine. "The 16 individuals selected this year are each poised to become even more effective change-makers in their societies and around the world. This unique leadership training opportunity will no doubt inspire their many future contributions to the global community." The mission of the Yale World Fellows Programme is to cultivate and empower a community of globally engaged leaders committed to positive change through cross-disciplinary dialogue and action. It has at its core three main goals: to provide advanced training to emerging leaders from diverse disciplines and countries, to link this network of world leaders to each other and to Yale, and to expand and deepen international understanding. Great news for the brothers and for our country Nigeria. Source : http://m.allafrica.com/stories/201304111016.html/ |

Leobreezy: Y'all that are saying "you can date but not marry" its obvious you're not really interested in the lady. You just wanna "scratch that kitty-kat" then dump her for the next younger babe. If you know you can't marry an older lady, then don't date one . Simple!!WORD! SIMPLE!! GBAM!!! |
Have dated an older lady before, she was 5 yrs older. They are submisive, caring n they don't demand much. But you have to do cos you are the man in the relationship, they would hardly ask from you. Long distance couldn't keep the relationship going as i was transfered out. I can marry a lady who is 2-3yrs older. |

afam4eva: Someone just takes a picture of a particular place in Aba and uploads it as a true representation of Aba. Yes, we know Aba is bad but not this bad and not everywhere. When i went to Aba 3 years ago, i was trying very hard to find the dirty Aba i kept hearing and seeing all over the internet but i couldn't find any. Even Ogbor hill that seems like a middle to lower-class neigbourhood is not that bad.Maybe you forgot your original eyes at home n went with the fake one. Aba is worst than hell, atleast for those that av visited hell b4. |
obicentlis: My broda, that picture is even pretty to compare to many places. I live in Aba, some roads now are covered my refuses and grasses. Call somebody in Aba and ask him hw far. Menn...... The state of roads in Aba are in dead mood.My broda u are on point, roads in Aba is on -0% level. |
