What sort of updating does NIN & BVN need? Never knew that they need updating
When BVN was originally launched, NIN number was generated.... Those generated NIN numbers, are no longer valid.....

Any Nigerian bank account one can open from here without having to travel home? The traditional ones are requesting for a lot of documentation… don’t want to repeat the process I went through with GTBank.

Wants to remove my money from GTBANK completely.
Assuming your NIN & BVN, don't require any form of updating.......

Alat, by Wema would serve you nicely....... 😁😂👌

Branch is also very good, but they have regional lockdown on app availability and hate for apk installation........ 😁

the maids are doing it for the future of their unborn kids. 🤣🤣🤣

Even in Nigeria sef I no get maid, on principle (because I don't like the concept, and cos elemi esu ni 99.99% anyway), na for abroad wey 'future of unborn kids' take center stage I go come get maid....When I no mad

It's common sense and I agree with you that due to perception of the abroad, anyone no matter how angelic is almost certain to get betrayed by a maid brought from Nigeria/Africa. Why go through the hassle to import some stranger from Nigeria to pay them minimum wage as some have said here when you can just get someone there in the UK and pay them same? It's cos they wanted to save cost. Unfortunately no matter how nice they play, they will ultimately expose themselves to a sharp knife in the back like your friends, cos hey everyone including imported maids want to 'secure the future of their unborn kids' in this obodo oyinbo and will drown anyone drownable to get it. Na you go smart and not expose yourself make dem use your head break coconut, cos you want to save pounds
The truth be told, if I was an imported maid...... After exposing me to a working system in the west, I have looked after all your kids, they are now fully grown and you're about to toss me out......... 😁😂

Walahi, nah home office, police and judge, go resolve the matter....... 😂👮🚨😁

Many of us don't/won't even stay up to 7yrs before getting ILR after which you can just walk away. Why should it take 7+ years and Govt intervention in their case? Was the love so massive that the plan was for her to be a lifetime maid? A plan they won't want for their children.
And this the exact reason, the maids seeks permanency (once they see kids are becoming independent) + no perceived settled plans from their bosses..... 😁😂

There are more Filipinos and Indian house helps/ house keepers in the UK but we don't see them making headlines. They work for some of the wealthiest people/ families. example footballers, politicians and diplomats. There are registered agencies that would provide you house help within and outside the UK. Make use of them to avoid story that touch. Or take your children to childminders. Life is simple but people just complicate it for the sake of saving few £
It's that attempted means to save money, that eventually makes them go chop beans (at his majesties pleasure)........ 🤣😂😁

My point is...whatever lies they cooked up has to be collaborated, the maid must have an evidence, is she getting paid and how much? Enrol in school? Allowed to go out with friends? The court will not take her 'lies' without verifiable evidence to back up her allegation
How does this sound, when a girl you discussed all with in Nigeria, went to her Nigerian parents house........ Claims she was Ivorian and exported to Nigeria...... Let me not say too much.....

Remember, we had this discussion a few years ago, and my position was NEVER to go down this route, no matter how desperate.....

...for treating her almost better than they treated themselves and their kids.......? Or at some point they treated her the way they wouldn't treat their own kids?
The singular issue that makes this people bend, is how do I make my papers permanent? And to achieve this, they would cook all sort of lies........

You think this woman got 6yrs behind bars without any collaborating evidence of her crime? Considering her position and her work achievements in legal field i don't think that the British legal system will throw a high profile woman behind bars because of an unsubstantial evidence.
I had a friend that brought a maid from Nigeria, she was with them for over 7 years..... They treated her almost better than they treated themselves and their kids.......

The Judas in maid, still struck husband and wife..... They both went down for 36 & 49 months respectively....... 🙄

When you underpay or do not pay people, you need to very kind to them grin. Madam judge learnt that the hard way.

Btw, is she not paid well enough to get a proper baby sitter or she was just too greedy?
She should have simply applied for a domestic visa, but she tried to game the system...... The system showed her that any shortcuts, could cut you short..... 🤣😂

A very poor night for Labour, losing an extremely safe seat less than 1 year after the GE. In contrast, the former Labour govt enjoyed 6 years before their first byelection defeat. Likewise David Cameron had a decent honeymoon period before the Tory party started to decline.

It highlights how unpopular Labour currently is and if Starmer doesn't set about delivering further and faster change, or at least get better at communicating the improvements they are making, then they will be the first government in recent times to do only 1 term. People want a dynamic leader and have little patience now for a steady, but slow/ overly cautious, civil servant type.

If the current trajectory continues, Labour is likely to have a different leader taking them into the next GE. My prediction is:

2029 GE:
Labour leader - Wes Streeting
Tory leader - Robert Jenrick
Reform leader - Nigel Farage
🤐
This result was totally predictable...... I hate to say..... I said it...... 😂🙄

LOL!!!! Who is the us?? It's only YOU who is obsessed with this point - I think you're desperate to hear that I + my family hustled for a visa/British kpali 😂

Okay let me put you out of your misery lol. Once upon a time, many years ago, most members of the commonwealth, including my family, were automatically British subjects and could freely live and work in the UK as citizens. Then they changed the laws, mainly because they felt that too many people from certain continents were coming in. (Immigration has been a dicey issue for decades).

If your family had moved to the UK before the laws changed, you + your family would likely have been automatically British as well and you wouldn't have needed to "stumble upon" /apply/ hustle for a visa + passport.

However I doubt you would have wanted to come here back then as Britain post WW2 (and even as recently as the 80s) was very different to the nice and pleasant land you moved to a few years ago.
Revolver cocked, aimed and fired...... 😂🤣

Oga Lexus.

Please with regard to renewing passport, you made a post a while ago about the hassle of name change and renewing of passport. I had saved it but can't seem to find it anymore.
Please could you share it again as i am contemplating if changing my name (been married for 3 years) on renewal is worth the hassle.
P.S- I am expecting a baby in summer and my passport expires Oct 5. I may not have the strength for all the running around to London to have it changed.
Please can you highlight what a name change will process is like.

Thank you.
Unfortunately, it would almost take me forever to track this post, due to level of engagement(except chatgpt is deployed) .....😂

But I would drop my £0.02....... Change of name, does not really give your any leverage, it's simply psychological, twinned with a lot of hassle....

If your husband is not demanding a name change (pls, don't do it)...... 😂🤔

I renewed last month using the Self service option you don't need to go to the embassy in London - I believe this option was only available for the 10year passport when it rolled out. You'd provide your fingerprint and photograph via the app.

total cost spent.

$242 for 10 years passport.
$100 for self service.
£20 postal order + C4 special delivery self-addressed envelope for return delivery

passport delivered to my Uk address in a week.
How come applying from Nigeria (considering long leg fee), is much cheaper...... Than UK standard price...... 🤣🇬🇧😂

I'm a 32 year old married woman. Graduated from university about 9 years ago. I came out with a 2:1 in microbiology.

Later, I read nursing and graduated last year.

I'm considering japa but nursing route isn't
that easy especially because of the verification issues.

Is there an alternative? Like using my degree result.

My husband and I have about 35M savings.

We've got landed properties too.

Which country should I consider and the route?

Please help me decide.

We intended starting up our building project next month but still skeptical.
You think those that japa, did not also have verification issues, till it was all later resolved?

Seek employment, in a country that appreciates your skills (Nigeria does not).....

NB: Let's not deceive ourselves, coins is belittling the real concept and value of money, more like psychologically mind twisting real value....... 😂🤣
