Cyberknight: Indeed, let's wait and see. Lets even have a friendly wager that the number of departees will be low; I need money to pay my newly-increased train fares. But remember all those so-called footloose millionaires saw Dubai, Cayman Islands and co before they decided to come to the UK, they want international schools for their children, where they can socialise and hobnob, better value for money in London's West End - they're not leaving in a hurry, no matter how many articles the Telegraph and the Daily Mail publish. If i was a millionaire, what the hell would I be doing living in the UK..... Nice to invest in the UK, but enjoy your returns in dubai....... 😂😁 |

Cyberknight: Leave that one, oga. Nobody is going anywhere - who wants to go and live in UAE or the Barbados far away from the hustle and bustle and glam of London/Europe just because of what is actually not very much in the larger scheme of things - it will simply result in higher fees for highly paid lawyers and accountants as they end up creating even more complex tax avoidance schemes. Let's await data on how much the scheme would raise + cost of enforcements...... Let's not also forget, budget department of over 3000 employees, employing another quango at £950 per day, to ensure that value is achieved.....😜😁 |

What goes in stamp duty, is compensated for in better interest rates......... Buyers would not stop buying, because of a 2% increase...... 😁 |

UK net mortgage approvals edged up in September – the highest level in more than two years – after the interest rate cut at the start of August lured more buyers back to the market. Mortgage approvals on house purchases for September sit at 65,647 up (+1.1%) from 64,958
Approvals edged up for a reason....... 😁 |

I like no increases in NI ,income tax and VAT. I like no increase in fuel duty I like the NHS allocation I like the Justice and education allocation. I like the bus fare cap I like abolishing non dom I like 50% private jet duty increase.

barnaby04: I got the property from a letting agency. I first reported the issue to the guy assigned as my property manager by the agency but he said I should relate with the landlord since they are the ones responsible for all maintenance works in the house.
Did you rent the property from an agent or directly from the LL........ Get the agents pressure the landlord...... In the interim, get no nails to stick your curtains up........ |

barnaby04: Good morning guys, Please I need advise on this issue.
I rented a newly refurbished flat and you all know these rules that you can't temper with the wall or put a nail on it, I wrote to the landlord to provide curtain hangers/rails to make it easier for me to fix my curtains and not temper with the wall since there is none in the house which they agreed to do.
This issue has been pending since three weeks ago. Their man came to take measurements of all the windows two Fridays ago and nothing has been heard again. I sent a reminder mail to the landlord last Friday when it was exactly a week since the measurements were taken but no response has been received yet on it.
All my windows in the house are open and uncovered which violates my privacy. Please I need candid advice on what to do. Thanks Did you rent the property from an agent or directly from the LL........ |

mex551: @ Lexus and others , Good evening. want to start investing in S&P 500. I understand that I cannot do that directly but can invest in ETF or index fund that is mirrowed to S&P 500. I also understand that I can use trading 212. Please what is the difference between both (etf and index) and which one is user friendly for someone that wants to be putting in £500 monthly. Guide an investment newbie please Contrary to your position, you can invest directly in S&P 500, by simply buying fractionally or via ETF's....... If you want to invest £500 pcm, portfolio diversification is the best investment vehicle (my opinion)........ You have 2 investment options...... - Self managed..... - Portfolio Managers managed..... I cannot advice you on either route, simply because I practice both investment options..... ETF vs Index funds are similar, but have some variations...... https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/smart-money/etf-vs-index-fundIf you want a managed portfolio, nutmeg is a good provider..... Simply start by paying £500 (opening balance), then setup a continuous direct debit going forward..... https://nutmeg.mention-me.com/m/ol/rg4ip-oye-jaiyeolaNB: Open an ISA account (it's more tax efficient)..... |

Kogbagidii: Hello everyone!
I'm facing a bit of a dilemma. I'm currently in Nigeria and will be getting married in about three weeks to someone on a Tier 2 visa in the UK. We’re planning to marry at a registry in our LGA instead of Ikoyi. However, I've come across conflicting information regarding the validity of marriage certificates issued outside federal registries. Some people say embassies might not recognize certificates from non-federal registries, while others believe it doesn’t matter as long as it's a legitimate registry, whether federal, state, or LGA.
Should I proceed with the LG registry as planned, or could this impact my dependent visa application?
I don't intend to move to the UK for another year, but I’m planning to visit my spouse in February (God willing). We’re unsure whether my spouse should begin the process of adding me as a dependent now or if I should apply for a visit visa instead. We're concerned the dependent application might not be completed in time, and I don’t want to miss the February window due to timing constraints. It does not matter which registry, issues the marriage certificate...... Do you have the leveraging documents, to apply for a visiting visa....... If not, don't waste your funds, apply via the dependant route (much safer and guaranteed)....... 👍 |
