Guys, can I visit the embassy 4 months to resumption?

Actually you can but if you get approved by the VO, you would not receive your passport till 120 days before resumption as that's the only period your visa can be issued and you can't travel to the US more than 30 days to resumption

Hello,

Please, how much does WES charge for the evaluation (a personal copy) and does it require requesting your transcript from the school directly to them? Thanks

For university admissions, it's best to choose the course by course evaluation. Either you use WES icap or WES basic. The WES icap costs 205 USD (74k naira) and the WES basic costs 160 USD (58k naira). WES Icap ensures your records are saved with them and you can easily send the transcript to any other school at a later date. The WES basic doesn't offer this. Then there's cost for sealed envelope.

For shipping the evaluated documents to you, you could either choose 7 USD for standard delivery or 75USD for courier delivery. For the WES icap just budget 249USD (91K) to get a copy and to send to your school of choice.

Your transcript has to come directly from your school due to incidents of fraud. Plus you'd need to send your WAEC transcript from WAEC Office directly and waec scratch card.

After using the information you gave me to calculate my GPA using WES calculator my GPA is 2.75/4...thanks so much bro

That's not bad at all. There are schools that accept that for admission. You are welcome.

Thank you...I still have questions about the WES conversion. My course is 4years but I had extra year(repeated some courses) should I use 5years on the course duration? Or should I replace the failed course with the newly passed course after the extra year?
I need information on this please

You should replace the failed course grade with the newly passed grade. That's how WES calculates GPA. Also, your final 2 years grade carries more value compared to the other years, so if you did better then, your evaluated grade goes up.
I would however advise that you just pay WES for the evaluation to be certain. The value I got using the free online evaluation was different (lower) compared to the GPA WES sent to me after their own evaluation. I hope this helps...

Hi wassup have you seen where we can buy for 750? so we can close this out thanks

The Waec result checker pin is 750 at Waec office yaba. However, after correspondence with WES, I was informed WES does not accept Waec Result checker pin. You have to buy the scratch card at a cost of 1500. Some even sell it as high as 2000.

So it gets to Wes faster.

Good evening all. Please I have a question. Does WES accept Waec result checker pin? I visited WAEC yesterday and they informed me that they only sell result checker pin instead of the scratch card. Please has anyone sent WES the result checker pin and was rejected?

What branch of engineering? Have you been admitted to all 3? Or are you yet to apply to any of the 3? If the latter, I'd suggest you apply to all 3that is if you have the wherewithal.

Northeastern is in a prime location and is the highest ranked offense the 3, I think. Also, this prime location means connection to industry which translates to multiple career fairs and numerous job opportunities. Don't think they fund MSc students. Even some PhD students are admitted without funding, according to what I see on gradcafe.
University of Illinois on the other hand is also a great school. However, living in Chicago can be expensive and I can't speak to their funding policy for MS. I do know that PhD students are regularly funded.
Don't know about NYIT.

Consider other schools outside these 3 of you haven't already.

Good luck with your applications.

Thanks so much for your input. I picked these three schools because of the course I'm applying for (MSC Energy Engineering). I am yet to apply to any of them. Northeastern University seems to be the best in terms of how their representative spoke to me but it's tuition fee na die. NYIT seems to be the cheapest.

In your experience, do you know of any other universities that would be better than either of these three? Thanks so much.

Good day all. I'm currently in a dilemma on choosing a school in US for my MSC in Engineering. I'm currently stuck on three universities, New York institute of technology, University of Illinois Chicago and Northeastern University Boston.

Please I need advice on which is the best in terms of getting a job or getting funding

please can you elucidate on which part of the verbal sections(reading Comprehension, Text complication or sentence Equivalence) you made use with Gruber

I used Gruber for all three sections. The book gives strategies for all three of them. The reading Comprehension elimination method, the text completion clues to pick your answers. Indeed it is a good book for getting the necessary foundation. The most important book for verbal section still remains the ETS GRE official book. It is extremely similar to what is obtainable in the exam.

How long did it you prepare for it?

I used one month but I had to quit my job since they weren't ready to give me study leave. That one month was highly intensive. 9hours studying and practising various GRE simulation exams.

wow! Good job...... I really commend you

I will have to agree with you on that Reading Comprehension technique..... It really works. But I will like to ask, did you study the whole questions(e.g 4 or 5 questions under the passage) before reading the passage.......... Or you study question 1 and move to the passage, question 2 to the passage again..... Question 3 etc

Its better to study question 1 and go back to the passage so as not to confuse yourself.

I only have a question, what is the function of government if it goes about relinquishing it's responsibility as an employer of labour? I believe it's about time we begin to hold our government to its roles. Look at our Nepa that was sold to private investors, has electricity improved? Fine, critics might want to bring up the telecommunications sector as how MTN, glo and the likes have brought sucor to the highly inept Nitel... Aside that, please mention another one? Visit countries like Libya, the government built houses for the next upcoming generation with no one presently living in them at the moment. What has our government left behind for our future generation? Instead the future looks bleak and we are all shouting sai baba. *spits

If you as a head of government can't manage your responsibilities, I believe you should resign and someone else with sense can do the needful. It's time to hold government to its responsibilities. All we have are just individuals collecting huge lumps of money and destroying legacies of the future generation. I'm tired abeg

O boy see traffic for this page!!!! It amazes me how I see comments from zombies. You people have no idea about the huge damage Buhari has caused us in this nation. It is going to take years to fix this. Foreign investors are fleeing from this nation. Even those willing to do business get such negative reports from their respective embassies not to do business in Nigeria. How can a nation progress with so many exchange rates? How can a president speak such ill about his country people and expect investors to troop in? How can a president claim to support made in Nigeria and still spends vacation in UK His cost of governance nko? I weep for this nation. I decided not to join this protest but i silently hope it would be successful.

I think the cut off mark used to be around forty something for most departments. What is the fate of those that scored below 50 and not recommended ¿ please I need your response.

The cut off mark still remains 40 for some departments, particularly those that few people applied or the general performance was poor. I know of someone that scored 44 and was recommended.

Thanks Lexychuks, so what happens if I have no professional certification or experience, Am I graded over 80%? I graduated with a third class.

Unfortunately I have no idea. But I believe it is an added advantage to have professional certification and experience if you did not graduate with a good grade as well as doing excellently well in the admission exam
