this playoff is beginning to look like an opportunity for the team to play together and know themselves better ..... Chelle will take his time to study the team better .... my worry is Cameroun . , we may meet them , and we have beaten them several times times , they may see it as a time for revenge

You guys that were around to watch Yekini, was this how he made the country feel?

Because mannn I'm so proud and grateful for Osimhen. To think he was so close scoring all the four goals by himself. Ah omoooo, that self confidence is enough for 10 men
Yekini , doesnt play fancy football . he doesnt miss penalty , he can score free kick . he can kill anyone with shot power ... he was a beast to watch . Osimhen will get there and surpass his record . only if the team play for him ... he has been the only passionate player Nigeria has had in over 2 decades . i wish we have others that can give their all

Fifa WCQs Playoffs Battle

The WCQs best 4 2nd place table's final look will emerge tonight.

DRC vs Sudan kicks off in 8mins.

So if you are a Burkina Faso fan, start praying. My Super Eagles, Our Super Eagles is safe and locked in for the playoffs.

We only await who we play with the Fifa rankings to be taken into account.
As things stand, Nigeria is the highest ranked by FIFA among the playoffs qualifiers for CAF Zone. It will work to our favour.
just answered Metaljigsaw questions .... we are the highest ranked , we will play the weakest

Well, he got away with what should probably have been a clean goal today
He should be grateful the referee was that lenient
Another referee would have awarded that goal straight up

Did you alsp notice he dropped the ball again today?
That could have gone anywhere..

I like the guy
But he needs to get himself together
i heard the psychologist spoke to them .. this time e enter their ears ... and they all knows what is at stake

what worked for the team today , they played for Osimhen , even some played to his strength . 2 heading 1 shot .... i realised that the team did well in their set pieces

We played better without LOOKMAN

CHUKWUEZE has Benin's cheat code

SIMON delivered, no matter his football is never a beautiful one

FREDERICK was solid

EKONG should remain a figure head

OLA AINA should get well soon

Fredrick kept it simple ...... no one slept among the back 4 , they were all super alert . even Nwabali ova danger . was so conscious

OSIMHEN was just being OSIMHEN

FRANK got his opportunity and delivered a clutch moment

Getting the results and playing exceptionally well are two different things
We got the results but Benin was poor today
the Osimhen 3mins goal disstabilized them , that was the deal breaker . caused them their WC ticket ...

This playoff route will be long o..

That brings us back to the earlier question of what happens to the friendlies that the NFF already organised for the team in November?
They even made an official announcement about it...
if we qualify in the african play-off ... we will go through the confederation play-off which will be playing against some asians team. we are on a long thing grin

Rohr is a tactical genius , he will come up with a tactic to turn this game around , i mean concede more 3 goals to put us at the right position for the playoff ..

What makes this thing more painful is that at last AFCON, we easily had the most formidable defense, all thanks to JPes. How we went from that to this is just bewildering.
we played negative football during the Afcon .... 5men defence , and unnecessary long balls ... it cost us the final . .the problem with our boys is not about their skills or ability , its psychological ... they will suddenly sleep off . eg: Ekong , Nwabali , Ajayi even Ndidi sometimes take a quick nap ..... that mental alertness need to be reawaken in them . this has been the major problem when ever we are leading . if you find another problem you can share here .

Benin might win this game if they mount sufficient pressure on our defense.
If our route to goal is through a patient build up then we need at least two defensive midfielders.

I suggest long passes from the midfield to the forwards, even if the passes miss their intended targets. We will be in position early enough to recover. We don't need counters from the opposition, until some issues are sorted out.

We have very lethal forwards. We just need fewer opposition players in their own box and therefore more spaces to attack. We need the opposition to come out, that's the reason for the long passes from the midfield rather than dillydallying around their box and running the risk of dangerous counters.
na Rohr BENIN we want play , no be Guardiola Benin ..... tactically Rohr is clueless , what has worked for him is the determination of the guys . ones the boys bring their A game today , then the scoreline will be 3:1 or 3:0 ..if If its Rwanda or SA we are playing with Today i would have been more concern , because those guys are fast and discipline ... lets see what the result will be

but come o , if we no want use Nwabali tomorrow who Chelle want use ? ... this is not a friendly match , its better to gamble with Nwabali than to put our second choice (Adeleye) at the goal post .... Nwabali should commence seeing a psychologist as soon as possible , same with our captain .
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by lexyman(m): 6:57pm On Oct 13, 2025
you people are making me feel as if Benin Republic na Spain or Argentina ... Rohr will park the bus and want to hit us on counter ... he may want to play 8men defence tomorrow . Nigeria should be able to beat them , they cant be as disciplined as the Lesotho team that came for clearance at every little opportunity . start Chukwuze , we just need someone to dribble their ass when they park the bus . . but after this WCQ no matter the result , the team need a psychologist ... then need to retrain their mind .

I had a nightmare today 😭

The Super Eagles were playing Benin, we were losing 2–1, then Osimhen hit the bar from outside the box, then one player like that, not our current player, but for the nightmare he sha play for us, his name is Renebeé (na wetin I see for the nightmare o), he came on and scored the equalizing goal. We come draw.

I was now calculating the table if we can still qualify, the next thing I see, na straight to penalties... Osimhen took the first and scored, Moffi scored, Ekong scored, Ndidi balloon him own go outside stadium...

My guy come wake me. I no come even know whether for the nightmare na Benin win the PSO or Nigeria... Headache just wan finish me this morning.
wake up , wake up , u done piss for bed .

Na that USA 94 World Cup wey dem no pass second round like others and the Atlanta 96 gold win still Dey shak them. Hoping one day an eagles team will go past the second round ceiling at the World Cup so we can rest from all their bogus talk.
"I'm still bitter about the 1994 World Cup match between Nigeria and Italy.at a point the team wasnt together , they had mafia s they had caucus ? How did we fail to score against a 10-man Italian team for over 50 minutes, only to lose? That team should give this generation of Super Eagles some slack. Football has evolved significantly since then, with more advanced technology and scientific approaches. While the current team isn't perfect, I appreciate their unity and togetherness – a welcome change from the past. If they qualify on Tuesday, they'll go further than any Nigerian team in history. We've got the talent; they just need the right mentality."

play on ground , not a good chance created , the first half has been so horrible . Chelle's 2nd half should be better , the long balls is not helping matters , the long balls resulted into offside . abeg we need a different pattern in the second half

I'm confident about our chances against Lesotho tomorrow, but I'm skeptical about beating Benin Republic. Historically, this team has struggled to win consecutive matches, and it's a concern. I'd love to be proven wrong, but let's focus on the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for now. i dont want to say bye bye to world cup participation ... but i will give them the support . so guys lower your expectation
