This Carrick has started to gba.

- Played Mbeumo as a striker throughout preseason. Started him on the wings today.
- Started an unfit Mazraoui that played a part in the 4-2 Milan loss.
- Shoehorned Bruno into the team even though he isn’t fit as well.
- Shoehorned Cunha too.
- Fletcher Nepotism.

The result of these decisions is the lethargic display we’ve had today and against AC Milan.

Also, Luke Shaw will soon cop an injury with the way he’s being deployed. We don’t have a capable alternative.

You are just trying hard to discredit him.

He was the one who broke the exclusive this evening, and Ornstein even credited him for it. Yet according to you, he’s just farming credit despite being the first to report it lol
Credit for breaking story about what we know is imminent? Kudos to Ornstein for recognizing him. If only he would do that every time he jumps on other bandwagons.

At the same time, Ornstein’s update gave more crucial details: duration of deal and that he’s due for medical tomorrow, not all the wishy-wishy your guy dey talk.

Forget story. We know who get story and who dey farm credit. God bless you.

Ethan Williams has gone to Peterborough. MUfC didn’t disclose his fee but Laurie Whitwell said the fee was around £750k.

I am not so sure about our incoming 1st year scholars this season especially in the attacking areas. If Noah Ajayi and JJ Gabriel don’t play Under-18 this season we might lack firepower. Watch out for Ngwashi the CB though. He is more complete than Kukonki and Armer but injuries have set him back. If he has an injury free season it might be a big year for him.

I am more excited about next season. We have some exciting wingers coming up. 4 of them.
I have a feeling they’ll surprise you. Obviously should be a huge season for JJG but a few other stars will spring up. That Armer guy is too Maguire-like. I feel like it’s a bad thing for him.

I hope the transition to the U-21s will be smooth for some of our guys. Talents die in that squad.

I read that Ogunneye is free with 40% sell on clause.
Scanlon is about 1m pounds what I read.

Over the past couple of years due to Brexit effect clubs in England have become aggressive about raiding each other’s academies.
And to be honest, we haven’t made huge losses on those academy buys.

Hannibal Mejbri was an expensive academy kid when we bought him from Monaco. We sold him for double the price with a 50% sell on clause.
Even the wayward Garnacho, we bought him for 100k and sold him to Chelsea for 40m.

Amad was the most expensive one but I’m confident we’ll get at least 50m if we were to sell him. Same with Heaven, Chido Obi, etc.

Reigan Heskey has already moved to Germany. Just under 2m pounds but potentially rising to 8m with add-ons. They also added buy back, sell on , and matching rights clauses.

Ajayi is moody and inconsistent. He can be quiet for 40 mins and then next thing he is dribbling from opposition half and firing a shot in from 30 yards. Scanlon is your consistent grafter but he just does not have Ajayi’s ceiling.
Wow. Didn’t see that coming.
I can see him going for 70m in 2 years. He is going to farm that league.

I hope to watch more academy footy this coming season. I have a feeling we’ll uncover another gem.

They are not the same level of talent just based on physical attributes alone.

Scanlon has decent technique and is one of the best finishers we have produced in recent years but lacks the speed, acceleration, or dribbling to excel as a winger at the senior level. A recurring issue with our academy players.

In the U-18s Scanlon was probably more productive but the eye test says Ajayi is the one with elite potential.

I think both Scanlon and Ogunleye are destined for the lower leagues but Assanal are signing them mainly for their Un-21s and plan to flip them for profit later.
I’m okay with that as long as Scanlon and Ogunneye become professional footballers somewhere in a top league. We should sha not sell them for peanuts.

So Noah Ajayi is rated that high? I didn’t watch academy footy that much last season. The glimpse I had of him in the final against City he looked a bit subdued.

That City squad no be beans. God knows how much they’re going to sell that Heskey boy— if he doesn’t break into the first team given that Doku is injured and Marmoush seems to be on his way out.

Hearing James Scanlon and Habeeb Ogunneye are in talks with Arsenal. I’d prefer they move to teams where they have more chances of playing senior football.

I really liked Scanlon. How would you rate him vs Ajayi when he was still an U-18 scholar?

Laporta should arrange a 220/230M bid and bring that beast to camp nou ,and give him a salary of 600k euros weekly just as we gave lewa for his first 3 season
And then insert a clause that prohibits him from scoring more goals once he hits a certain number. Na so una do Lewy.

He is with the Under-21s and doing well from the reports. He has scored a few goals this preseason. I think he is going on loan. Many clubs are interested. It’s about choosing the right club for him.

Kukonki and Noah Ajayi are the ones that concerns have been raised about their longterm future with the club.
Noah Ajayi no prospects? Isn’t he more talented than that new Tottenham guy? They shouldn’t ruin his future abeg. Get him a good loan ASAP.

That was how they threw my boy Elyh Harrison to struggling Shrewsbury. Hopefully he learned a lot in that ancient town. Now they’ve thrown him into another struggling side in Scotland. Greenock Morton or something.

Cant we hire some of those guys at Chelsea? It amazes me how they get loans for their players and sell them for a fair profit later on.

What Leyqute is saying is this; Chido Obi and Amass were by far the best academy players in their position at the time so fans who follow the academy were okay with them having the period of adaptation.

For the Fletchers, there are some players who most of the fans that follow the academy believe are better who are not getting these chances. It is not just about the Fletchers struggling but who they are blocking.

That is the grouse that many fans have with playing them. It appears they are collecting opportunities from other academy prospects. Their poor performance with the senior team is just the extra confirmation for people’s concerns.
Exactly.

What do you think is happening with Obi? We didn’t see him on tour even though he improved several areas of his game massively last season.

I hope those academy guys have a proper plan for him.

Unfortunately,we did not witness the same standard of scrutiny applied last season on academy players like Chido Obi and Harry Amass. Rather the narrative being pushed on these pages were that they are kids and fresh from the academy. grin
As for the guy who has never seen anything good in Dorgu? The less said the better but it becomes irritating after a while. undecided
You still didn’t get my point regarding the Fletcher boys.

Several people feel that academy players like Ibragimov, for instance, should be more integrated into the first team by now, instead of Jack Fletcher. He’s more talented, more versatile and even stronger than Jack Fletcher.

Also, you can’t tell me Tyler Fletcher is ahead of someone like Jacob Devaney in terms of ability, maturity and so on.

Yet those Fletcher kids were getting tangible minutes over those guys.

If things were done on merit (not nepotism), those are the kids many feel who would be getting into the first team. That’s the koko.

The negativity is just ridiculous.
There is one guy here always on Dorgu's case no matter what the player does on the field. The Fletcher twins are also a regular target, forgetting these players are just kids being integrated gradually by Mr Carrick.
Those negative people forget that an average Chelsea team won the Champions league in 2021.
At times trophies are not won by the best teams but by the most practical and lucky teams.
The Fletcher criticism from most people here is actually on point. The complaints weren’t just about playing those boys, it was about giving them more minutes OVER other academy products who many feel are ahead in terms of talent, ability and several areas.

The criticism was about the inferred nepotism. Not that those kids aren’t good or that they shouldn’t be integrated into the starting eleven.

That Dorgu hater, I never meet him kind. grin

Luke Shaw played all premier league games last season, and we have Dorgu or Amass to cover for him. The listed midfielders are good enough to help United challenge for the league, yes defence is a concern and Carrick has made his demands. Who do you want United to sign this window that would help us win the EPL?
Clearly we both want the board to sign players, but if they don't i am also believing the current players are good enough to play all competion next season..
We don’t need to win the EPL this season— unless the opportunity arises. Our goal should be to comfortably finish top 2 or top 3. Then we add more players and go for it next season.

With the way things are going we might struggle to stay in top 4, not to talk of qualifying for it. We barely have the squad quality to compete on numerous fronts.

But Carrick can do his magic sha…as long as they give us Hull City every match week grin
