Afrodoc. Not even Noah Ajayi alone. We have several wingers in the academy who aren’t bad. Maybe physicality is high on the criteria of our scouts.

The hype is unreal but if you consider his performances and stats at that young age and you add his social media fame as Kid Messi even before he joined us years ago plus the fact that it is Ma Utd, nothing can be done to control the hype. Pure talent wise he is up there with the best talents we have produced in my time and probably all time. The question is if he will develop an EPL physique. That is where Dowman has the edge (similar technical level but far superior physical level).

The Tynan Thompson deal surprises me but the club scouts hopefully know something extra. He was Spurs 2nd best LW in their academy after Mikey Moore and overall, i am not even sure he was top 5 in terms of rating in their academy. Moore and Malachi Hardy were both better rated (although Hardy is a CB and we are covered in that position). Their best talent is a 17yr old named Luca Williams-Barnett but he is a CAM so don't need him as well.

Finally paying potentially 8m for Thompson means either we don't rate Noah Ajayi, or we expect to lose him soon.
Well, fingers crossed.

Season go soon start. We go see wetin go happen to those youngsters— who will stay and who will go, and to where.

Yeah. City’s and Chelsea’s academy are also very good. Other clubs just have one or two talents in a class. I like how we’ve been getting these young talents as they near first team football.

Is the 4+4m on Tynan Thompson from Tottenham a good risk? 8m is very cheap if he develops into a very good first team player. But what are the chances.

Garnacho was also expensive. Thank God we still got some money out of him despite his unrealized potential.

The key point I think is we have to manage these youngsters well. We have to give them the best environment and opportunities to become a first team footballer, in another team if not in Man Utd.

I hope the rush they are rushing JJ Gabriel won’t affect his development like it did Shoretire. If the talent is not meeting up with expectations it’s better they backtrack. The hype is not helping the kid as well but that him papa na wahala.

I think Collyer needs to be sold for his own good. He is no longer a boy but a 22yr old man.
Most teams won’t give him the regular developmental minutes he desperately needs now in order to develop if he is only loan.

Same with Dan Gore especially if we get another senior CM.

They need to move on and play serious minutes. Gore has missed about 2 years of football in the past 3 years.

I foresee a large exodus in the incoming weeks. Moorhouse, Ethan Williams, Finley McAllister etc.

I hear that Kukonki might leave as well. He is a left sided CB by nature but has mainly played LB because Armer who is only a few months older is rated above him at LCB and they both have Ayden Heaven who is only 1yr older rated above them in the same LCB position.
I don’t mind selling those youngsters so they can get minutes elsewhere. They should Sha insert a buyback clause so we don’t do another Garner.

LOL.

Meanwhile your boy Ashton Missin played for the Under-21s this weekend after nearly 20 months injury but had to be taken off injured again.
Some people's bad luck no be oju lasan.
He’s going to miss out on a core period in his developmental phase. E no easy mehn.

We still have Ibragimov and co to look up to. They should send Toby Collyer on loan to a club where he’ll get more minutes. He has what it takes to be a PL footballer.

He need to up his game cos the talent is there, no room for lazy nonchalant football from him and Mbeumo next season...
Shea Lacey is knocking on the door. Carrick should sha not hesitate to bench both of them for him if they keep underperforming. At least Mbeumo puts in the effort. Amad has been too lazy mentally .

Good game so far. We’ve been the better team going forward. The boys are forming patterns and attacking with sense. Hope it gets better with time.

The bulk of the chances in this game fell to Dorgu and he hasn’t made the most of it.
Amad looks a bit unserious.
That Santos guy may turn out to be very good. He’s neat and tidy and doesn’t waste ball.
Mbeumo looks just a tad fitter.
Mount looks sharp. Hope he stays injury free.

I think he just needs to rediscover his spark. He used to be very reliable. A change of environment can do that. I'm more concerned about his injuries, wages and cost
I was rooting for Tchou earlier in the window. Now I don’t want INEOS to tchoos him. He’s going to be an unnecessarily expensive player we might think we could afford.

I’m not against us making expensive signings, I just don’t think it’s the right time to splash in the current phase of our squad building.

Two years is too long. Are you sure Villa will even sign him permanently. It’s a conditional buy obligation, and I don’t trust Villa with regards to loan deals.
They love giving false hope to Man Utd rejects. Rashford. Jadon “Freedom” Sancho. And now, Garnacho. All spoilt. All delusional. All having an inflated ego in their abilities and self-worth.

I agree with you. They might not even bother to sign him.

Yes they are,and since 2018. cool
You don add caveat cheesy

Strong South American football teams have been on the decline over the last decade. Look at Brazil. Their last real talent was Neymar. The flair, talent, skill, football speciality have all gone from SA’s football.

But even at that Argentina still has one of the best teams in the continent since that time. They are definitely not a mediocre footballing nation. Saying so na strong cap.

BlueMann:
The squad was definitely average or above average at best this WC. Midfield trio that shone in '22 all fell off so bad that Paredes became a starter again. Alvarez and Molina didn't look close to their 22 level. And the replacement for Di Maria was Nico fvcking Gonzalez.

They absolutely do not make the final or even the semis if they didn't live and die by 10.
Everything you’ve said here is beside the point. Argentina is never a mediocre footballing nation.

Messi played with the best talents in the world on the national stage before this last WC. Aguero. Higuain. Di Maria. And that’s just Messi’s generation.

Before him, Argentina has had spectacular footballers. Di Stefano, Kempes, Maradona, Batistuta, Veron, J. Zanetti, Carlos Tevez, Simeone, etc. Some of these guys were the Mbappe’s and Messis of their eras. They dominated in their time.

Argentina is definitely NOT a mediocre footballing nation.

When Messi stole Thomas Muller's Golden Ball I no hear pim from una so hapuya like that. No crying in the casino

What would have been the justification to give Messi the Golden Ball?

Didn't score the most goals or assists. Round of 16 was his last goal. He faced Spain in the Final and was arguably the worst player on the pitch. So on what grounds did he deserve the Golden Ball??
Messi is a genius but his activity data showed no difference from that of a goalkeeper this World Cup.
