Beorn: The problem is they are not looking dangerous on the break yet. Pressure might burst pipe and if PSG equalize in this first-half, otilor. That’s where the risk is. They need to keep a clean sheet in the first half. Their lack of threat with the ball is a problem. |

Beorn: Assanal should not fụ̀ck this opportunity up. Sitting back against PSG might be suicide. They need to come out more with their press and try to score 1 or 2 more to kill off the momentum of PSG. They just need to stay in the game for now. No point pressing high and getting found out against PSG. The game will let up eventually if they hold their ground and look dangerous on the break. |

afrodoc: Liverpool sacking Slot is actually bad news for us. With all the negativity and unhappy players in the dressing room the team was primed to implode next season with Slot in charge.
Now they might get a good manager who could get Isak, Wirtz, etc firing. Even worse, Iraola is the leading candidate to replace him, and he fits their heavy metal football style. The silver lining is their weakening midfield, their leaky defense (VVD is not as good as he was and they’re losing Konate) and their non existent right wing. They’re stacked in attack with Isak, Ekitike and Wirtz but I’m praying that they get things wrong and drop further next season. They’re kuku playing in Europe. If Chelsea and Alonso get their recruitment right, wahala fit happen. |

TrebleChamp: Nobody can truly predict whether a new signing will succeed or not, see Mancity and Grealish. But United should not rush into signing players because they played well last season, even Fergie got it wrong with f signing like Pobosky, Veron, Kleberson and Djemba Djemba etc because of their performance at major tournaments. Fernandes of Westham looks like a solid one, haven't real watch Tonali that much but i hear he is a very good DM too. My fav DM Bruno G sadly may be too old for the Ineos project, but at 29 he can still play a major role and i would be happy if we sign him.. The only issue I have with Fernandes is his physicality. A midfield trio of Mainoo, Bruno and Fernandes isn’t physical enough for the EPL. Anderson would elevate our physical levels but I’m worried about his consistency and price tag. |

spillo1: Anderson is currently better than Rice when he was at West ham. He's the one we should be targeting but city he's his first choice so we should move on. Fernandes, Ederson, Maino and maybe Tonali will be a good selection for two spots next season. That Ederson is setting off alarm bells in my head. He looks like a Fred pro max. Are you sure Anderson is as good as Rice was before he left West Ham? Seems like this is his breakthrough season. 2 years ago, he was a bit part player at Newcastle. Last season was his first full season and nobody seemed to notice if he was good or not. |

afrodoc: I am hoping he proves me wrong. It is me that will suffer as a fan if we sign players that are not up to standard.
There are some basic principles of midfield play. Good 1st touch, ability to receive the ball on the half turn.
If you see a midfielder whose clips are mainly of him running though the opposition and his touch appears a bit loose the chances are that he will struggle in the EPL. Sometimes sef, the player will be quite decent at those qualities but the added pressure of United and the EPL will affect their confidence and turn them into clueless zombies. In addition to recruiting technically gifted midfielders, Vivel and co also need to assess targets’ mental strength. New additions easily crumble at United if they’re not tough. You could even argue that this should be the first quality to scout for. |

afrodoc: Yeah I would be happy with Anderson and Mateus Fernandes.
I hope Ederson succeeds here but I would have been happier with a more technically sound player. Re: Midfielders with bad first touches and limited passing range. What if it is this Ederson that proves you wrong? 😀 |

engrelvis: Another thing.Mainoo is not a good passer of ball.We need a deep play maker who can do that.Martinez is trying tough Mainoo is a good passer in tight spaces. Remember his assist to Cunha for that screamer away at Arsenal? He only struggles with mid to long range passes due to maybe confidence or technicality. He’s got rhe vision cos he sometimes sees the free player but he just often chooses to make the easier safer pass. |

Jamiuokolaa: I wonder why the loan deal wasnt structured similar to Hojlund's. Like tying it to a CL/laliga triumph, X number of starts/goals/assists etc.
Maybe the plan was to ride a wave of stellar performances during Rashford’s loan spell, inflate his market value, and then cash out at a higher fee.
Now the whole thing has backfired and we are still stuck with a 300k+ per week want-away ninja, despite his 25GA contributions
If he didnt publicly twerk for Barca, I for say make we keep am - he would be a decent option at LWF and CF positions Nah. It’s done between United and Rashford. Coming back wouldn’t be a great idea. The player doesn’t want to come back and the crowd at Old Trafford (and even some online fans) haven’t forgiven his lackadaisical approach and the manner in which he burned bridges. Did you remember the recent IG post where he thanked everyone (including this Barca that doesn’t rate him) for making it to the World Cup but completely ignored United who gave him the platform right from when he was a kid to be where he is today? Nah. It’s done. The only hope is that he shines in the World Cup and attract other suitors willing to pay 30m for him. Barca has until June 15 to activate the 30m option. |

Jamiuokolaa: We are clearly at fault here.
From all indications, it appears we didnt insert an obligatory buy-option clause into the loan deal. Ninja contributed massively to Barca's la liga triumph yet they have the audacity to dilly-dally over his outright purchase.
Perhaps we were too desperate to keep him away from Amorim that hated him so much and here we are stuck with the fella.
The way the club is run atimes sef...Smh Really hate doing business with Barca. They’re a terrible club. And we often allow ourselves to play into their hands. The De Jong saga is still clear in my mind. |

CrystalTiger: Seeing the Gordon news is just baffling..Fee in excess of €70m ooo but they don't have €30m for Rashford..
I do hope this is the last time ManUtd does business with Barcelona.. I’d blame Rashford more. Yes, he has delivered decent numbers for Barca in terms of goals and assists, but he gives room for people to question his commitment due to the lackadaisical way he plays sometimes. Even worse, he’s on a huge salary. Plus he has cut ties with Man Utd and his suitors are very few. In essence, Rashford left himself at the mercy of Barcelona. And Barcelona, as a broke club with rich vibes, will always exploit any situation to their own benefit, even to the detriment of the player. Rashford for 30m is a steal but their goal is to get him on a cheap- another loan of, say 5m, next season. Man Utd should never accept that. If any other club offers 20m, we should make him understand that that’s his only option and quickly offload him. God punish Barca. |

afrodoc: Brighton played themselves. They actually wanted 100m for Baleba. They would be lucky to get half of that now.
West Ham are a relegated side. They bought him for 40m pounds and he still has 4 years on his contract so somewhere between 45m and 55m is still reasonable There’s a sell on clause from Soton as well. 15% of profit on future sale. |
