......if RBL wants Højlund before they can sell Sesko to us, then do it. Option 2, offer Obi to them for 2 years loan deal, if they won't mind. Make dem help us groom am, coz I ain't sure the boy is ready for premier league football yet.
He’s not ready for PL football. But which club will be willing to develop other club’s prospects and gain almost nothing for doing so?

The guy has changed from last season. Looking almost Mainoo's size and looking sharp.

In retrospect i think adding Lacey to the initial preseason list after he was injured most of last season was a mistake. They should have just allowed him to stay with the Under-21s this preseason and throughout the season.

This season's Under-18 squad is touted to be another really good one. With Chido not available to them i am not sure how many options they have at CF though.
Lacey is a great talent.

It would be reckless for the club to continue treating Lacey like other students— if they want him to realize his potential. He ought to be managed to the level where he can play professional football. That way we can sell him for a very good price, if he can’t make it here.

Re new U-18 class, who are the standout players ? I think we signed a few talents locally and abroad.

Reason i want him to play in preseason so i can have a proper look, but i guess what i want is not relevant. I use the small highlights to console myself..
You can watch academy games if you want to see more of him and judge if he’s ready for first team. MUTV broadcasts them sometimes.

Kone might get some minutes this preseason though. I’ve seen clips of him training with the senior team and he’s looking sharp and strong.

You may not have to wait long to see him in Utd colors at the senior level.

Nope, is he on preseason tour too?
He’s injured.

If you carry Kone’s matter for head based on his highlights, I can’t imagine what you’ll do when you watch Shea Lacey’s clips.

He is extremely talented and can decide games.

Unfortunately, his professional football career is at risk due to numerous injuries at this crucial stage of his development.

Apparently Kone is not first team ready or good enough to play a preseason game so far. Small highlight i have seen of him show he is better than Collyer, but we may not get to see him play. Amorim knows best..
Have you seen the clips and highlights of Shea Lacey?

what you guys need is an arteta lucky for us you guys don't, amorim approach hasn't work both tactically and man management but to get rid of all these players at once is a big task he has given to united which normally find it difficult to sell players. Too bad for you guys, the management didn't get a manager that can work with the players you had

the way I see the transfer going, we may not sign any striker because non will be 'reasonably' priced. Especially since Amorim has hinted he'd rather have premier league experienced players this summer.

could end up signing a GK and someone in midfield, then send Bruno up as first choice striker.
A Cunha — Bruno — Mbeumo front 3 might actually be nice. We get an extra man in midfield as well, which is a nice thing. We will just need runners behind to score some type of goals.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 1:52am On Jul 26, 2025
We can’t rely on any of our midfield combinations this coming season if we want to make Europe.

Casemiro, Bruno, Kobbie, Ugarte.

None of these guys are good at progressing the ball from defense to attack.

You can’t pass to Casemiro during buildup because it takes about 5 seconds before he can do anything with the ball.

Same with Ugarte. He treats the ball like a bomb.

Bruno in that position will be giving possession away left right and center with his forced Hollywood passes.

Kobbie maybe can do it, but his pace and speed of decision making is an issue.

The funny thing is one very good passer and ball progresser can combine with any of the last 3 guys and massively improve the midfield.

No one says pressure should be put on his shoulders, let's see what he can do first. Who knows bro.....
Hopefully he gets some minutes during preseason. Then you’ll see for yourself if he’s good enough or not for the first team.

Even Mainoo needs to improve his pace to feature prominently in that midfield.

He's even saying he's ready to accept Sancho and garnacho back. Hmm.
You people should take it easy.

If he says he’s done with both of them in a presser, no club will come forward with good money to buy those players.

That they’re not training with the main squad is significant enough.

Ellexy:
It's good that Amorim has signed Cunha and Mbuemo, high volume contributors in front of goal. It will address the lack of goals from last season, adding a quality striker will seal the deal.

However, our midfield should be given maximum priority. An industrious intelligent DM is a most if we want to compete at all next season. Teams run us ragged because we can't control the middle of pack. It's time we start taking initiative in games, dominating the engine room and put an end to all the disjointed and lacklustre midfield displays we are used to seeing.
It’s so clear the personality we need in midfield. Some say a Baleba profile fits perfectly and I don’t disagree. The issue I have is not with the player himself but with others around him.

If we’re going to progress the ball from defense to attack in a fluid manner, a lot of our midfielders and wingers have to understand to show up for the ball in a timely manner and learn how to find pockets of space while being marked.

Scholes was a great midfielder. But even he won’t excel when a return 5-yard pass is misplaced often. He won’t be able to achieve his maximum output.

Missin has been missing for sometime now. I believe he is one of the ones that battled injury problems last season. Lacey and Fitzgerald being the most prominent.
Thanks.

At this point I’m concerned about Lacey’s chances of making it in pro football. His small frame aside, those recurrent injuries are a worry.

Afrodoc, is Ethan Williams really that special? Word is that Amorim rates his potential and ceiling even higher than Garnacho’s. What’s your take?
He is a good player.

afrodoc2:
Ashton Missin I would say no. He is pacy but I don’t think he has the X-factor and he isn’t the biggest lad. Leyqute and I have discussed him here. We like his speed, work rate, and application but ultimately I don’t think he has enough quality.

I really like Ethan Williams. Probably not as fast as Missin but he is a dominant winger when he feels like it. He is G/A king who takes free kicks and corner kicks with both feet, and scores from outside the box with both feet. Because he can shoot and cross with both feet he finds it easy scoring for himself and creating for others.
My 2 concerns with him are that he does not take his marker on 1v1 enough the way Garnacho did (or that even Missin does), and that he does not seem to possess elite speed. Also, he is sometimes nonchalant with his touch.
Whatever happened to Missin afrodoc? Is he still tenacious? Been a while I saw youth games.

Mainoo looks a tad faster. Dorgu, taller. He’s still ahead of Leon due to his superior positioning. He keeps getting into good positions but his final balls still needs a lot of work.

Yoro is very good on the ball and he just keeps on improving. And Mantato looks like he was tailor-made for this formation like Afrodoc said.

Hojlund and Mount ke 😟😟😟

Anyway, Miracle no dey tire Jesus sha
At all at all na him bad pass cheesy
Mount - 5 goals, 6 assists. Bare minimum. But I’ll take it for 20 league appearances.

Hojlund has to score more than 10 goals if he’s going to be a starter. There’s no point starting him if he’s not scoring or creating chances.

That’s why I think Zirkzee should be the regular starter. His style of play fits with Mbeumo and Cunha’s. He can play his 9.5, create chances, and assist them. Those two only need to outperform their xGs like they did last season.

If that happens, we’ll get into top 4.

Them gats manage o.

Let's see what they can do first.

I believe our issue last season was with goal scoring. We now have two new people who can provide and score goals. If we add a striker, then the coach must show that he's up to the task.
Actually our dry-goals spell predates last season. We’ve been struggling since ETH’s second season. It only got worse last season.

Glad something is being done about it.

If Bruno, Mbeumo, Cunha, Hojlund, Amad and Mount contribute at least 10 goals each, we’d have a much better season.

I know the culprits.
Also happened with Ole regarding Sancho. And Maguire with Mourinho.

We pursue lone targets, do shakara, and then pay up eventually.
