Mrviktor: Brentford wanted 65m. We said no. Bid 45+5 We bid again. 50 They said no 65 or nothing. We said no.
They increased price to 70 We bid 65 + 5
Madness I don’t know why they’d make official bids when they knew that it wouldn’t be accepted. |

MRTA7: Looks like we're going to give Brentford what they want. Should’ve concluded the deal way earlier. We would’ve gotten Mbeimo for £60m + £5 instead of the £70m gross that this third bid is worth. |

We used to compare our squad with City’s. Now, they are miles off us, even though they’re going through a rebuild.
Based on last season’s results, Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Brighton look more likely to finish 4th to 8th than us. And they’re more active in the TW than us.
It doesn’t matter who the coach is. We have to be strengthening our squad every window— better than those teams above us, if we want to catch up with them.
If Amorim is the stumbling block, sack him and bring in someone else. Just equip whoever is the coach with quality signings, enough to rival those other teams.
Our suffering has just started |

Englishisamust: I don't know wetin concern unaa with man u finances . I don't know whether some people dey work remotely as financial manager or accountant for man u.. make man u sign players that's all we want. By now we should have buy 2 solid midfielders and one keeper with one more attacker.. Na old cargo like casemiro u go still see for line up in the opening match and u go tell me one manager will perform miracle with this team!!!... You are minding Nitrogen. Always against signing players but a big fan of winning games. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 7:03am On Jul 16, 2025 |
nitrogen: Did we sign players for previous managers or not? Whether they were panic or expensive buys, we backed all our previous managers. Unfortunately, not enough funds this time, plus it seems the new sheriff is not a fan of sufficiently backing people that can’t show workings. If you “backed” previous managers, Mourinho wouldn’t be crying during press conferences for new signings. But that’s even beside the point. Don’t sign players for managers. Sign players for the club. Buy new players. That’s the koko. So that when you sack Amorim, the new guy can be better off. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 12:22am On Jul 16, 2025 |
nitrogen: This is the flexibility we asked for last season. They said he won’t be able to switch back.
We have backed managers with several new players in the past. At this time and given our finances, it’s impossible to do so, we can only do so much for now. The only reasonable thing is for Amorim to show workings and his mettle by hook or crook before we can go all out to change the squad for him.
That guy and his supporters are just too rigid and stubborn/incorrigible. LMAO. Go all out like when you pursued Sancho for 2 years and eventually signed him for the asking price? Or when you panicked and bought Casemiro and Antony for big bucks after ETH lost consecutive games at the beginning of the season? LMAO. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 12:20am On Jul 16, 2025 |
Ellexy: The players aren’t as bad as people make them out to be. We’ve seen some of them leave and suddenly start balling elsewhere. So yes, while the squad has flaws, the real issue is underperformance and that falls squarely on the manager.
If one or two players are off-form, fine. But when an entire squad turns to passengers week in, week out, it ceases to be a player problem, it becomes a coaching one. That’s exactly why ETH was sacked and everyone here agrees. Which begs the question, how did you guys go from sweating inside the frying pan… to now pretending fire is comfortable?
People are now making excuses for the kind of things thought impossible under previous managers.... Was Eth sacked so we could actually go lower? If that was the plan, then it's working perfectly. If things were going so well for ETH, he wouldn’t have been sacked. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 7:08pm On Jul 15, 2025 |
Ellexy: See this one forming like he wasn't a major shareholder in the Eth-Trust Holdings. You that was proudly waving the Eth flag till the last minute is trying to shame another person about Eth 😭
And yes I’m Amorim out with my full chest because nothing I’ve seen from him suggests he’s taking us forward. In fact, we only escaped relegation thanks to the points the man he replaced left behind.
Someone that banished arguably our best attacker, signed two defenders in a January where we desperately needed goals and you want me to be patient because of what? Vibes and training pictures? And lastly managers are judged by what happens on the pitch, not fantasy transfer windows. LooL. I’ve always been a major shareholder in Operation back-the-manager, especially after Mourinho was sacked. Realized a long time ago that managers alone aren’t the problem. If we want to keep up, we have to keep strengthening our squad. You’re anti Amorim because the ETH you stuck with was sacked. You’ll only keep getting bitter because of that hate. Cos after Amorim is sacked and his replacement doesn’t get a good squad, there’s little chance he will make it. We go all out in one window and fall flat in the next instead of building up on the previous one. It’s a recurring theme. I just hope the same mistakes are not repeated this window. Cos once the window closes and the season starts, everyone will disregard how bad the TW was and be on the neck of the manager to perform magic. Rinse and repeat. |

Ellexo: What are you even talking about? Everyone on this thread was pro ETH including you until he was rightly sacked. I called for his sack before you on the thread so what are you even saying....And ETH showed signs of promise and won silverwares but what has Amorim even shown to warrant blind followership and full trust from his reign so far? LooL. We all know you’re anti Amorim because your darling ETH was sacked. Amorim hasn’t had one proper transfer window but you want to throw him away. How much did your ETH spend in his first season? How many of the players he met on ground did your ETH improve? Better chill. |

ovoP: Yes. What happened last season was solely is fault. Finishing 15th is on the manager. if he even set us up by playing to the players strength. After seeing what he was doing wasn't working we would have finished 8th at least No, we wouldn’t. Our main problem the previous season when we finished 8th was a lack of goals. Getting rid of 2-3 senior attackers last January without replacing them definitely won’t improve things, irrespective of who the manager is or what formation he plays. |

Lana1: Maresca that they just picked from Championship is a good manager but Amorim that won an actual 1st division league title is useless. If they switched and Amorim was at Chelsea while Maresca was at United, same person will be fawning over Amorim while trying to convince us Maresca doesn't have tactics. LoooL. It’s mind-boggling. |

afrodoc: I read that we have a both a buy back and sell on clause for him.
If we don’t have a sell on clause then the smart thing would be to activate the buy-back clause, buy him ourselves and then sell him to Real at a discount. Benfica and Madrid didn’t come to sell beans now. The kid is also beefing the club, so won’t want to allow us to make money from his sale. The negotiation will be very difficult but we might be able to salvage something. Probably going to be the sell-on kini. Buying him back to sell to Madrid is very unlikely. The risks are just too much. |
