Ihuomadinihu:what hypocrisy guided by stark buffoonery!!! the palace of your Obi of Onitsha have a completely different spelling. the town hall in the village square in Enugu still has the incription Enugwu. what insults are you talking about? a few number of your town are written in completly different mode of pronouncuation, all to the white man's influence. Hausa have no other derivatives or form. THERE IS NO WORD AS AWUSA in english or anywhere. you cannot place HAUSA and AWUSA as you would IBGO and IBO. Other tribes in nigeria that have derivatives : IJAW and EZON (?) It may have its origin from the white man's phonetical limitations but like your towns and city they have become formalised, and official in usuage and acceptability. you have not posted a single source or link to support any of your claims yet. oblige me please. |
I- bo 1. 2. [ee-boh] noun, plural Ibos (especially collectively ) Ibo. a member of an indigenous black people of southeastern Nigeria, renowned as traders and for their art. the language of the Ibo, a Kwa language. Ihuomadinihu:Aren't you impossible!! i said earlier that Ibo is the anglosized version of Igbo. but you screamed foul. only for you to say what i have been saying with a different word. hmn, why do you love to criticize me with so much fervor ? The word Ibo is still widely used to in Nigeria and around the world by native and none native speakers and when ever it is used it is a variant form of IGBO. |
Ihuomadinihu:i got the satire alright. I was laughing at the way he had to say it. |
Ihuomadinihu:I am man enough to take correction when i am presented with facts devoid of emotions. what i am aversed to is argument for its own sake. go open all the online-dictionary updated to 2015 and see what their definition of the word "ibo" means. It is a variant form of Igbo no more,no less. just like the anglosized spelling of your towns: Awka, Onitsha, Enugu for "ENUGWU" etc. and please, I dare you, any Ibo lady who acquired her father's land did so statutorily never by tradition. She will need the EUROPEAN influenced court to introduce the doctrine of no descrimination to any one based on sex, birth circumstances etc. Ibo culture varies, but when it comes to women and inheritance, they all sing the same song with a resounding chorus. |
Wedon: ![]() |
Ihuomadinihu:it is dissapointing if that's the way you feel about this. but who's to say we don't change minds somewhere along the line. |
Stillfire:ibo is often anglosized for igbo. and they are used interchangeably. but that is another topic. you say ibo society is ran by a dual sex system? and yet ibo females do not inherit there fathers' landed property or estate. a woman who does not give birth to a male child often "marries"another woman to do so for her. The various age grades and heads of familes have the powers to decide generally for the progress of the entire community. women groups only saw to women affairs. they never venture outside in making laws or deciding the fate of the community. matter of fact, there are certain food ibo women are forbidden to eat traditionally like snail in some communities in Enugu state. also there are certain masquerades not allowed to be seen by women. you can furnish citations here which supports that any african society is run by a dual sex system before europeans came. |
patches689:And here comes the citation destitute. your have successfully killed the relevance of source;.. and since you have the reputation of disputing valid links and sources with lame tact, you shall have no more source for the time being. HERE ARE THE FACTS: The SANDF is recruiting now and the quest for skilled personell is high on their list. the SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT WENT TO ANGOLA somewhere this year AND ACKNOLEDGED ANGOLA'S HEROICS IN THE WAY. you can consult your government archives now |
MikeCZAR:of course Mandela formed the sandf with zulu freedom fighters, reason for your shotage of skilled men. ALRIGHT, whatever name your military was known by , SANDF, SADF or ZULU RESISTANCE ARMY, they were humiliated in angola with Botha scurrying to boost the morals of men who were being taught a bitter lesson by teenage Cuban pilots and little Angola. |
Ihuomadinihu:I do not have double standard as i believe the man is the head of the home and his wife has certain rights as well and obligations as well. where i differ is how a woman responds to a tough domestic situations with her husband. her response not her REACTION is all the difference that tells the virtue or foolishness of the wife. if she reacts like you often do here; using strongly worded and crass insults on her husband , she will not only lose whatever power and influence she has with the husband , she will also lose her sense of true feminine power. women (wives) should respond with grace, wisdom and meekness and the sweet but feminine charm that men have falling for since the event of time. and such response are far harder to acquire than the cheap display of anger and curse words you are setting as an example. SEE: men will always be men. nothing can change that. We shall fight wars, take risk, embark on dangerouse adventures, drive aggressively; run the rat race for power, glory and ego. TESTOSTERONE saw to these. Today's women use their degrees and diplomas to address the issues of men, forgeting the wisdom of our mothers who never had much education but enjoyed the respect and dignity of our fathers. IN SUMMARY: TODAY'S WOMEN LIKE YOU EQUIRED EDUCATION BUT LOST WISDOM IN THE PROCESS. |
Ihuomadinihu: you have never asked what my views are about women. and i am rarely sad on an online forum. REASON: I have come to understand that most cyber bullies are real nice people in real life. it is easier to rant and rage in the shadows of internet world where there is no eye contact, body language and voice tone to be deciphered.THAT BEING SAID, women have ever always been inherently powerful. it is ideas like yours that make them not only weak but sad and eventually unfulfilled in life. |
MikeCZAR:yes details. where the SANDF was besieged by angolan troops. where teenage cuba pilots chased you out of the skies and the SANDF and its merceneries were whooped by little angola. YOUR ANC GOVERNMENT HAS VISITED ANGOLA SOMETIME THIS YEAR IN ACKNOWLEDGMENT. |
nairalife2013:Ouch!!! That hurts. All i see are sad, aging females in a selfish alliance to misleed young ladies and turn them into domestic rebels. |
Ihuomadinihu: |
MikeCZAR:you mean like Angola has become your military's refrence point. who says SA didnt learn anything in 1978 |
Henry120:it is done. i am back for them southies. |
[quote author=Ihuomadinihu post=33488063]For your information, the name Nabal means foolishness in Hebrew. Nabal was not just foolish,he was mean, intemperate and inconsiderate. i never disputed what his name meant neither did i say he was a nice person.Abigali never submitted to his foolishness,by speaking out, she saved her family from the wrath of David. Abigail was loyal to her husband to the very last. when she came to plead with David, she would have asked David to spare her and get raid of the husband. nope she came solely to plead unbehalf of her husband. She already knew that David was going to be the next king of Israel. Submission is not about blind obedience and subservience. whoever[ said it was?/quote]It's appaling that a 21st century man thinks like this. Even before the coming of the white man, women had enough respect and right like men.you are an Ibo lady and you and i know a woman do not inherit her fathers land or building at any point in history- not before the white man came or after he left. man or woman should all have the same right for sure. but man should have added previlage as they take up more responsibilities than women. |
osystein:This will mark the second time i have felt the need to write a MOD after a ban, at the risk of derailment. And as the first, it is never borne from the urge to protest the ban itself, but rather a subtle need to draw to the awareness of the MOD certain intricacies that characterise certain thread/post. Needless to say, it is far easier wielding the big hammer than taking a dedicated effort to be an umpire and a moderator. All of societies the world over, political discussion is often an animated and heated one, more especially when you have a debate about the structure and composition of two countries in question. You seem to be relatively, the new MOD on foreign affairs and my assumption is based on the fact that we have had other MODs including a female whom i will not name in order to avoid unnecessary "mentions" on their notifications. And they did take time to blend in with us,but that was after several hasty bans and their associated futility. Then they became true umpires rather than just hasty MODs eager to wield the big stick. They discovered also the shrouded feature of the longest thread in the entire history of nairaland: honest debate has since given way to pure naked rivalry by the visitors. Mr. MOD, this thread is about 3 years old if not longer and NO honest debate last that long on any online forum. If you would take the effort to scroll down the pages you will see they are occasionally marked by off-topic postings, emotional reactions, real event happenings which are all momentary derailment often sorted out without external help; granted, there have been one or two instances where a MOD had employed true moderating skills to pull everyone back on track. If anyone is a political scientist by training or a political observer by interest, the secret but open rivalry between Nigeria and South Africa cannot be missed. And the debate here is a shadow reflecting the actual interactions of our two governments even at this very minute. It is the reason why there are only South African nationals left on this thread for years now! The occasional jibes and clever inclusion of off-topic remarks to make points and garner scores can NEVER be ruled out in a debate of this nature and one this long between Nigerians and South Africans. After all, when Nigeria recalled her envoy from Pretoria two week ago, South Africa's supposed professional diplomat, Mr. Monyela who is suppose to wear the cloak of diplomacy as a second skin did not only jeer at Nigeria but also made off-topic remarks wit Chibok girls and Boko haram. That was a diplomatic derailment from topic. I do not own a crash course on diplomacy but if professional diplomats can have impulsive reactions in political situations , the patriot in me will cause me occasional schizophrenia in standing up for Nigeria. And if you happen to be the MOD during my five minutes of illogical rantings, could you be an umpire rather than a MOD always itching to use the big stick ? Regards Leslie. |
Ihuomadinihu:That is the gospel. it is no fiction. Abigail came to PLEAD for her husband's life not hers. her own life was never in question. if she wanted to leave, she would have left a long time ago. but she was loyal and honourable. no one is supporting the ill-treatment of women. but of course you wouldn't own up. you are a modern woman with a man's ego. too much education , western movies and telemundo saw to that. women of Abigail's time had one duty: to support and reverence their husbands and run the home. it takes a lot of wisdom and intelligence to do that. the modern woman has to run the home, be a career woman and a pseudo bread winner and still support the kids. Striking the balance has been the dilemma of the modern woman. that's why there are so many angry, confused and frustrated women today. in summary, a lot of modern women today are just she-men groping for meaning in a simple world they have made complicated for themselves. |
Ihuomadinihu:David wasn't yet king then. He was still wandering, tending to people's flock. he was tending to Abigail's husband's flock and requested he be given one so he can feed with his band. Abigail's husband tactlessly refused and David swore to kill him. TO THE MAIN GIST: Abigail actually heard of what David intended to do. AND SHE CAME AND FELL ON DAVID'S FEET to spare her husband who was wicked, foolish and heartless. Abigail didn't abandoned or left her husband to face the fate he deserved. She stood by him with meekness, wisdom and grace. not like the modern woman who would have been in a hurry to prove how tough and superior they are. David admired her qualities and when her husband died, David married her as a king. SHE WAS LOYAL EVEN TO THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND. |
Ihuomadinihu:Abigail's husband died before she left. |
Ihuomadinihu:the word tormenting has been used only by critics here. Love, fidelity and loyalty in a relationship are not to be demanded. they should be earned. that's when the TESTING comes in. Note , the OP never said he hit his wife. if he ever said so, he refuted it in a later post. and in all honesty psychological testing seem to be the exclusive skills of females. while i wont like to further address the OP because he is a married man with a family who wrongly gauged the maturity level of his critics here. marriage is a sacrament and a mystery forever to be revered and respected. many of you aren't married yet and busy boasting about your score in an exam you have not written yet. |
jadelyn007:97% ? Don't we always have all the fools on nairaland on our side ? every relationship has its own peculiar baggage and hearts will be broken with or without intent. torture is a relative term to a degree. I deduce OP has had a bad relationship which made him went a little bit hard in testing his soul mate's fidelity. but the beautiful part of his story(which is the most predominant) is the bonding and expression of love which this couple has found. THE POSTER NOW CHERISHES HIS WIFE. it is ironic in life that most couples can only truly bond after a storm and if they do survive it the woman is often cherished by the husband. to be cherished by one's husband is the highest expression and display of love. it is awe inspiring and way higher than love. ONLY FEW WOMEN EVER GET TO BE CHERISHED BY THEIR HUSBANDS IN LIFE. Now what i find nauseating is your 97% who have no scruples about insulting a married man but also have the insensitivity to attack his family and innocent wife, calling her all sorts of name just to make their opinion heard. that is an all time low for anyone to descend to. And those are the people in dire need of your advice |
jadelyn007:I read his whole posts. What I did was sift the weed from the grain. and there's so much positive emotion to take from his experience. If nairaland females will find for themselves husbands half the man the poster is, maybe we would have less traffic with females who have taken up permanent residence at the romance section. |
nairalife2013:Wisdom and intelligence is what you possess. God bless you for this naration. you aren't just a good husband but you are a leader too. and your wife.....what a lady of character, rich heritage and wisdom. wish you guys the best. what you have is rare. |
MrsChima:i can see right through your false facade of calm. ![]() |
As a closing remark and in answering the question "how many men is enough for a girl before she marries" .no one really knows. sometimes one is enough damage and 2 or more ia complete diasater!!! women are fragile creatures and when a used woman marries, the happiness of that marriage could be completly dependent on those past lovers should they persist in still being "friends". it has been a pleasure knowing and balling with Mrs.Chima. internet forums are fun once you see it as a mode for relaxation and meeting those people behind the screen. |
MrsChima:You should have taken the life-line i gave you. Now you are being e-fvcked just for the fun of it. but damn, you are used to it. you are just another a-dime-a-dozen slutt running loose on the web. your "MRS" moniker is a bogus attempt to muster the slightest feeling of self-worth in the shadows of an internet forum. in reality no one cares about you. your only sense of relevance is the abstract world of a faceless forum. now dry those tears and repent. put your right hand in your left breast and say to yourself "i must make it in life" now go see if your mythical Mr. Chima needs his lunch. |
MrsChima:you really must be a child-bride or one of this abondoned houswives whose husbands left behind to sojourn overseas. your constancy on nairaland is a testimony of your lonesome loveless life. your rantings are those ofva frustrated damaged goods who cant heal or be happy. your perception of victory is who have the last say******phew******* see dundy. mega mumu. it's about the punches. this is a no contest. i enjoyed walking your emotions up and down. in a scale of 1 to 10, you scored 2 intellectually. 3 at trolling. 2 at writing skills. 1 at holding on to sanity. 0 at keeping your emitions in check. final score: you are intellectually hollow. you are also suffering from verbal and emotional diarheoa. I troll for funyou troll to win. hehehehe, hahhahaha. only the mods can save you now from the hands of the be-medalled troll. ![]() |
MrsChima: ;Dyeah, just like you schooled me too. two slain sociopaths cleaving together in a death dance.he should have checked me out before coming to your rescue . now like the yellow bellied coward he has abandoned you to steam alone.whorre-lovers aren't dependable and you seem to have suffered enough in my hands. have a breather. |
MrsChima:no, you are wrong and graceless. let me help you re-phrase: there is nothing half as nauseating as a literary deficient and morally loosed MARRIED woman who is a self-appointed apostle of waywardness and immorality looking for young girls to destroy. you are a public toilet and that's no insult: IT IS THE TRUTH. |
MRBrownJ:Shut your mouth filled with reeking teeth. read your posts, you started the insult with bullying. you are a gaping cuntt too soft to engage in e-brawls. you only claim to be civil the moment i unleash my fury on your estrogen ridden carcass. you are too effeminate to defend a lady too daft to decipher intelligence even if it were dangled in front of your nose. you are a wuzzbag on a time bomb ticking away to self destruct. a man whose moral meter has been compromised. you are a dominated, conquered slowpoke with identity crisis. and ISO certified sociopath who swirls in the wind of time like a loose tree branch. you are a pusssy pushover, a whimp and morally deficient. your ethical destitution has depicted you as one nairaland's best wuzzies. there no "down" for you to descend to. you have never lived. you are still crawling on all fours intellectually looking for the meaning of your oblique existence. pusssy. |
