givedemwotowoto: Tinubu's image makers are doing their best. Tinubu's policies are the problem, not his image makers. Nobody said float naira from day 1, nobody said remove subsidy from day 1. Nobody said don't fight corruption in the oil sector, nobody said don't appoint competent people to fight insecurity and corruption, nobody said let Coastal Highway of Fraud be your main priority out of all the big challenges. Let's stop kidding. There's no best way to sell someone who's priorities are politics and not governance. That's the problem of Nigeria. Late President Yaradua spent over a year before forming his Cabinet, what did he achieved, he's probably one of the worst Leaders Nigeria ever produced (but for the Amnesty program that ended insurgency in Niger Delta). Jonathan that toured the whole country trying to sell removal of subsidy was frustrated (signs of weakness), Buhari used body language to run Nigeria for over six months what did he achieved? PBAT, started his Presidency immediately after been sworn in with his reforms otherwise it would have become like Jonathan and Buhari. Leading is with a lot of burden. All those reforms were long overdue. The reversal of the Privatization of our refineries by Yaradua hailed by novice like you has cost us over $20billion which could have been invested in education (technical education should have been the foundation of our education). When Magret Thacher did her reform in the 80s in the UK, she was heavily critized same way PBAT is been hounded now, today she's seen as a heroin, her reforms has become a study material. PBAT should stay focused, Leaders dont follow, they follow them. To me he is a visionary leader All the critics of these reforms including you have failed to offer an alternative. |

givedemwotowoto: Facts speak for themselves. Tinubu is on the verge of destroying Nigeria completely and Nigerians are trying to stop him I'm just wondering how? I think if PBAT has not taken those harsh decisions, there will be no Country again. We were broke, spending 90% of revenue to service debt, we were borrowing to meet recurrent expenditures, our crude production was below 1million barrels per day mortgage for over 6 years. I'm not a fan of Tinubu, I didn't vote for him, but im in support of his policies 💯. I laugh when people claim that Naira was N430/$, which Naira? black market rate then was already aboutN900/$ only that Buhari was to afraid to remove the rent seeking element of the exchange rate. I'm NOT Tinubu's PRO, his image makers should sell him. I may not like him, BUT I BELIEVE IN HIS POLICIES |

However, if the man broke none of their laws by calling himself such, they should shut up until such as enacted Of course the man broke the chieftancy law and he has been told clearly to desist. We all need to be sensitive to the traditions of our hosts |

gidgiddy: Gowon should stop lying to Nigerians, the records are there. Regional Army was agreed at Aburi, and it was agreed that the Regional Armies would be under the control of the Regional Military Governors
You signed the agreement, only to return to Nigeria, realised that what you signed gave a lot of powers to Regions, then went back on the agreement
You invited Ojukwu to the Midwest meeting knowing fully well that Ojukwu was not safe there, but Ojukwu sent Phillip Effiong to represent him.
You then completely broke the Aburi agreement with Decree 14 that dissolved the 4 Regions, and created 12 new states to replace them
To add insult to injury, you immediately enacted Decree 15 that abolished resource control
Gowon, you caused the war by breaking the Aburi agreement you signed with Ojukwu, just because you and your fellow Northerners wanted control of Nigeria Gowon did what he needed to do. Dialogue was not given enough time and it cost Nigeria, Million in dollar and Human |

But given the fantastically corrupt local politicians there is likelihood of intimidation or connivance to the detriment of the masses but in the hands of foreign investors there may be less intimidation or connivance. Efficiency is also more assured. MTN comes to mind. Globalcom comes to mind, Dangote, Samad of Bua, etc comes to mind, the Fintech comes to mind. We should respect what we have in Nigeria. Look at what is going on in the Onshore Oil exploration. Local investors is the sure bet. Nigerians bought Shell out, look at the deal of Wale Tinubu so many to mention. Do not use the errants of few unscrupulous individuals to define local investors |

MrSly: Sell it to make as productive and nigerian NEPA. It is better they are not functioning that function like nigeria NEPA. If anyone wants refinery let them build it like dangote did his. If they must sell the existing refineries it should be to foreigners with no political link to nigeria. Shikina. Of course NEPA was worse than this with underinvestment in critical energy infrastructure. The best manager remains the private sector and the best are the local private investors. they have the interest on Nigeria more . |

Bwanasaraw: NNPC staffs and NUPENG members threatened to go on prolong strike if the sale was not reversed. Yar adua was scared of the effect of the strike on the economy that's why he reversed it.
Obasanjo sold the refinery in a hurry, last lap of his administration, he didn't settle labour and union issues before leaving power.
Goodluck Jonathan was able to sell NEPA with ease because the welfare of NEPA staffs were settled before it was Privatised. I laugh whenever i hear this line of argument. Who are union members to the President of a Nation. The responsibility of Labour Union is to look after the welfare of their members and not to formulate policies. If they want to formulate policy, they should go and join a political part and win elections to become the President of the Country. Late President Yaradua got no excuse |
