Renowned Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to abandon his re- election bid so that the All Progressives Congress candidate, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) can emerge the winner of the presidential election next month. Mbaka, who heads the popular Catholic Adoration Centre in Enugu, said this in his New Year sermon titled “From Good luck to Bad luck,” while addressing thousands of parishioners on Thursday. He urged all well-meaning Nigerians to vote for Buhari on February 14. According to the cleric, Jonathan has disappointed Nigerians and cannot deliver the dividends of democracy to the people. Mbaka subsequently knelt down in front of the altar, cried and asked God to give Nigeria a good leader and not Jonathan. He used the opportunity to beg Nigerians to vote wisely in the forthcoming elections. He said, “I love President Goodluck Jonathan and I used to be his ardent fan, but I want good for my people and that’s why I want Nigerians to vote out Goodluck Jonathan and vote General Muhammad Buhari. I don’t care if Buhari is a Muslim and from the North; all I care about is that Buhari can save Nigeria.” Ironically, Mbaka had recently endorsed Jonathan’s re-election. It was learnt that the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, had taken Jonathan’s wife, Patience, to Mbaka, where the cleric said he would pray for Jonathan’s victory. However, after prayers, Mbaka said the sign he received from God was that Jonathan was not fit to rule the nation anymore. Mbaka further explained that one of the reasons Jonathan is no longer fit to rule Nigeria for the next four years was the high level of insecurity which the President had failed to address as well as corruption in the country. He said it was unfortunate that the over 200 Chibok girls who were abducted by terrorists over 200 days ago had not been rescued despite series of promises made by Jonathan. He further urged the Federal Government to account for the missing $20bn and stop insurgency in the country. Mbaka maintained that Buhari could not Islamise Nigeria as being rumoured in some circles. He said he had never met the APC candidate but urged Nigerians not to forget that Buhari fought corruption to a standstill during his administration between December 1983 and August 1985. My question is , Why is that Cameroonian soldiers can't kill Boko Haram members in their tens. it will always be in hundreds . . We use to think that it's only NA that can falsify casualty figures.it's like Cameroonian Army is better at it. |
kudos to Nigerian Army , I know it's actually only 10 of them they killed |

founder and General overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T. B. Joshua has said Boko Haram may be responsible for the collapse of a six-storey building in the church premises. Joshua, who told members of his church on Sunday not to be afraid, said the attack was targeted at him and not at them. The prophet made it clear that the collapse of the six-storey building at around 11.45am on Friday which led to the death of no fewer than 16 persons was a Boko Haram attack. Joshua buttressed his claim by showing to his congregation on the Emmanuel TV the chronology of events shortly before and after the accident as captured by the church’s CCTV. He said, “I received a phone call immediately I got here, just 10 minutes later when I was in the church, that there was a jet hovering over the mountain where I had just left. They said it was hovering at a close range. Before I knew it, I received another phone call that the same jet was now at the church hovering over the building, passing it four times at a very close range before the building collapsed.” Joshua read to the church a letter which he said was addressed to him by a Boko Haram member, confessing how he had attempted to plant a bomb inside the church. Joshua said his church was being attacked to scare away members. “This environment at Ikotun Egbe, we have never witnessed an accident of a building collapse. This is a very stable terrain. I have been here for the past 30 years. I am pregnant with words, but we have left the security agencies to do their job. Let us believe and educate our people and be alive.” Assuring his congregation that God would bring the perpetrators of the attack to book, Joshua said that the decision of the insurgents to focus on his church might be the end of the Boko Haram’s activities in the country. He said,“I know you will ask why the church? It is because of the spiritual blessings that God has bestowed upon us. A big head wears a large hat. “Don’t forget about the Ebola issue too, it was God that rescued the church. Probably they would have dropped an Ebola patient inside the church, so that they would said, ‘there is an Ebola patient in the church, don’t go there.’ “They are trying to scare you from coming to church. Don’t be scared, you are not the target, I’m the target. I know my time has not yet come. I have not yet finished my job. “I want to assure you that our God will get back at them and you will know when he gets back to them. May be this would be the end of the whole thing.” Meanwhile, the death toll had officially risen to 44, while 130 people were said to have been rescued alive. The National Emergency Management Agency on Sunday said that 44 dead bodies had been recovered, while 130 people trapped in the collapsed Synagogue building had so far been rescued. The Public Relations Officer of NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this via a text message to our correspondents. Farinloye, however, told the News Agency of Nigeria that 80 per cent of people rescued from the collapse building were women. He said that two female children, aged four and eight years, were among those rescued from the building. Copyright PUNCH. www.punchng.com/news/boko-haram-attacked-our-building-─-t-b-joshua/ |

If you can recall very well, agencies like Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET),Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) and Annual Flood Outlook (AFO) predicted a more massive flood for 2013 in Nigeria, according to them it will be more massive than the devastating flood of 2012 which caused a lot of damage in several states. To be more precise, here are some news articles that highlighted this prediction http://www.nigeriaintel.com/2013/04/27/worse-flood-coming-fg-warns/ http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/31-states-to-experience-devastating-flood-in-2013-says-report/146070/ http://en.starafrica.com/news/nigeria-forewarned-of-disruptive-2013-floods.html http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/2013-flood-prediction-sema-wants-cross-river-communities-relocated/ These agencies are the agencies that claimed to have predicted last years devastating flood which actually came to pass ,they said their warning was ignored that was why there was great damage. In 2013 they said it will be more. My question now is ,there are only 15 days or so left for 2013 to be over, when will this greater flooding take place ? and what will bring about it ? Is it this hard biting HARMATTAN that will bring this mighty flooding ? or will there be another 2013 after this one , may be ,there will .NIMET am waiting for your answer o. Here are my takes on this issue, don’t crucify me for it , its just my own opinion. There is certainly not going to be any massive flood this year again. These predictions were mere conjectures, they were just using the whole nation to do “kalo-kalo” or “try your luck” their research was not thorough enough , they just cashed on the success of last years predictions to make a hasty conclusion which is not good for a nation like Nigeria. Please you people should go and meet American Meteorological Agency for more training. I wonder how many Nigerian will take you people serious the next time you make any prediction |

The WAEC on Wednesday released the full results of 1,543,683 candidates who sat for its May/June 2013 Secondary School Certificate Examination. The number represents 91.38 per cent of 1,689,188 candidates who registered for the examination,. The Head of National Office (HNO) of WAEC, Dr Charles Eguridu, announced the results on Wednesday when he addressed a news conference in Lagos. Eguridu said 889,636 candidates obtained six credits and above, while 1,074,065 others obtained five credits and above. According to him, the results of 145,505 others, representing 8.62 per cent, were being processed due to some errors. “These errors are traceable to the candidates as well as their schools in the course of registration or writing the examination.’’ The HNO explained that such errors were being corrected by the council to enable the affected candidates to get their results fully processed and released subsequently. Eguridu disclosed that the council cancelled the result of 2,176 candidates. He explained that the cancellation was due to multiple entries by the candidates discovered while processing the results. “In line with the council’s regulation, the entire results of such candidates who have been found guilty of this act had been cancelled, “ he said. The HNO also said 112,865 results of candidates, representing 6.75 per cent, were withheld due to examination malpractice. Eguridu pointed out that the cases were being investigated and that reports of the investigations would be presented to the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) for consideration. Further breakdown revealed that 1,225,591 candidates obtained credits and above in four subjects, 1,353,273 obtained credits and above in three subjects, while 1,465,581 obtained credits and above in two subjects. Eguridu said that of the 121 blind candidates, 117 attempted it while 24 obtained five credits in five subjects including English Language. “Blind candidates do not take Mathematics and Science Practical in WASSCE diets“, he said. He hailed security agencies for providing the much needed security throughout the conduct of the examination. The HNO said that despite the security challenge in the country, especially in some parts of the North-East, the council was able to conduct the examination. “We thank the Federal government and security agencies particularly in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States for the support rendered the council during the conduct of our examination. “We equally commend the Federal and State Ministries of Education for their support in terms of their facilities and logistics given to us during the conduct of the examination.’’ He decried the murder of three of the council’s personnel by gunmen while on their way from Yola to Maiduguri. The candidates can check their results online on the council’s website within 24 hours of the declaration of the results. (NAN) |
