If other professions can travel out for work, I wonders whats the big deal when docs and their side chicks travel out side the country for work.

Mrchusenvessel: Depends on your agreement
it might be time-based (e.g 8 hours per day- Mon to Fri) or task-based (10 tasks assigned to you for a week, so if you finish fast, you got a lot of free time to yourself for that week)
working remotely really needs a lot of dicipline.. lol Do you guys code throughout the the task or time. Like build new stuffs? |

dauddy97: If you truly meet a Pakistani guy. You will know they are far better than us. I have work and still working with one Pakistan guy. The guy is more than a guru. Aside coding, he solves problems like 2+2. He solved a business data science problem I gave him within a min. This same problem, I gave many Nigerian who called themselves "Data scientist" to solve and failed. Do I say fail, they didn't even bother to submit.
I'm mentioning Pakistan cos India and Pakistan are somehow related. The Pakistan guy I'm referring too is a native of Pakistan but schooled in India. You know majority of us were brought up by our parents & society wrongly. Let me xplain in Nigeria most parents hate confidence and flog their children in other to banish their confidence. We need that confidence to learn, but now its missing. /#GPNP/ What we lack is confidence and patience, then exposure. They have been doing this for years, while we are just starting. If you put the we and them in the same level, the gap may not be that big. I know they are good, but their hype is bigger. Respect to them. |

I have been on NL programing section and i have observed most NL programmers are scared of the indian IT guys. My brothers every thing na hype. Dubia no fine pass many countries, but Dubia is very popular for its beauty. The Indian IT guys may not be better than Nigerian IT guys, its just that the west is favoring them over us. The west have not giving Nigerian IT guys the same opportunities they have given to the Indian IT guys. I understand the forces of racism and know the west will pick Indians any day over Africans.
Nigerian IT guys are very good, dont be mislead by the Indian hype. Secondly the issue of Indians taking peanuts as wages should not bother us. We have a big advantage over them, but majority of Nigerians market Nigeria negatively. We even go online to abuse our nation. This is one of the effects of washing your dirty linings out side.
In summary most Nigerian IT guys sabi, no cap, no bandana, no head warmer, no hat.
To any Indian reading, I mean no harm.
Thanks. |

majesticguy: I am new to coding(Html & Css) & i alternate between note++ & vs code. My problem is that, anytime I write a code and insert an image or a video in the same director as my html file, i end up with a broken image when I run the results on Google Chrome, while for the video, it doesn't play at all. All this happens when I work on my PC.
Here's the code for my image
<DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <Metacharset="utf-8"/> <title> webpage 1</title> </head> <body> <img src="car.jpg" alt="car" width="800" height="600"/> </body> </html>
Note: my image & html file are saved in the same folder on my PC.
But when I run the same code via Quoda app on my phone, the image displays perfectly ( haven't tried the video)
Please gurus in the house, what am I doing wrong on my PC, do I need internet connection enabled on my PC for it to show?? Check well you are getting something wrong |

airsaylongcome: Hello everyone, Seeking advice. So I have been offered a position as a QA Tester (Independent Contractor) at crossover.com. And I am bit hesitant to take this position and wanted some advice.
I got to know of crossover.com last month here on Nairaland. Applied for a few positions and got successful with the QA tester role. However most of my research about working for Crossover.com has turned up mostly negative reviews. Intense monitoring, deducted pay and generally poor work conditions. But at $20k per annum, the offer looks tempting. I have another remote job and was looking to combine both. However most of the reviews have been from Americans who are a bit picky. So I wanted practical advice from any Nigerian based folks that have worked with them. What has been your experience? Is it possible to combine crossover.com offer with another remote job? Would you advise I accept the offer and combine it with my current role? Or should I just tint and keep looking? Abeg cut just small soap for me |
