PoliticsRe: Fayose Reiterates Call For President Buhari’s Resignation, Says; “his Failure Ow by Lildoks(m): 10:24am On Feb 25, 2018
engineerboat:
The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has reiterated his call for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, describing the present insecurity and economic problems in the country as evidence of the President’s cluelessness and inability to steer the ship of the country.

The governor said; “For a President that was elected because he promised to fight corruption and clear the Northeast of the Boko Haram insurgents within three months, the signs that he must take a bow and return home are clear even more than crystal.”

In a statement issued on Saturday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said latest events in the country, especially the abduction of over 100 pupils of the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, and the Transparency International (TI) damning report revealing that the perception of corruption in Nigeria worsened between 2016 and 2017, further vindicated his position before the 2015 presidential election that President Muhammadu Buhari lacked the required capacity to govern a diverse and complex nation like Nigeria.

He said; “President Buhari promised Nigerians that he will bring back the missing Chibok Girls and defeat Boko Haram within three months.

After more than 32 months in office, Boko Haram is still killing Nigerians, with herdsmen also on a killing spree.

“Painfully, the same Boko Haram they claimed to have defeated suddenly became strong enough to kidnap over 100 students. Now, Nigeria is not only looking for the remaining Chibok Girls, another over 100 innocent students have joined, this is unacceptable!

“Funny enough, a few days ago, the President called on all Nigerians to be prepared to pay the ‘ultimate price’ for the progress and unity of the nation and I wish to ask him what other price does he wants Nigerians to pay.

“Already, Nigerians are sacrificing their lives by getting killed while seeking what to eat. Some have even committed suicide! Yet, the same President who is enjoying all the benefits of his office is calling on Nigerians to forgo personal pleasures and pay the ultimate price. ”

Governor Fayose, who described those urging President Buhari to seek reelection as selfish people who do not have the interests of Nigerians at heart, added that no right-thinking Nigerian would pray to have the fate of the country in the hands of a clueless individual like President Buhari for another four years.

When President Buhari mounts the campaign podium, what will he tell Nigerians? Will he tell Nigerians that corruption and insecurity has not worsened than it was in 2015? Will the President say that Nigerians deserve to be buying petrol that they were buying at N86 per litre in 2015 at N180 now?

“Is President Buhari going to justify that within 30 months, Nigeria’s debt that was N12.06 trillion in 2015 increased by over N10 trillion?

“Fact is that Nigeria is under a rudderless federal government. Everything is now upside down, with everywhere in the country becoming insecure. What Nigerians expect in a situation like this is a clean break from this calamitous government and new breath of life, not a continuation of a government lacking direction.”

Bro, I lost a sister to sickle cell years ago and till date it still hurts because she was such a sweet soul, she had a really bright future ahead of her. This is my advice, look for the most reputable laboratory in your city of residence and get a test done there. Love is not enough in this case, if she is AS please use your head and not your heart because I've seen what sickle cell anaemia does to a human beings and you don't want to put an innocent soul through a lifetime of pain all in the name of love. It is well.
Thank you oo. It isn't about faith. It is the risk or pain u could put an innocent unborn child through. Apply logic in this case don't just rely on religion and faith.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: His Friends Called Him An Errand Boy, But Today His Errand Has Paid Off by Lildoks(m): 2:39pm On Apr 07, 2016
onismate:
Life is a journey and we never can tell who we meet on the way. My own case is slightly similar to that of Abraham in the Bible who came across an Angel. Unknowingly, he gave them bread and took care of them, that was where he was promised a child from God, and the rest is history.

My mom was an Akara seller who struggled to put I and my brothers through school. And life isn’t easy at all will all its short comings.

2014 after graduating from the university and awaiting my NYSC, I moved to Port Harcourt to join my uncle and his family. I started working in a Business center in Choba, close to Uniport pending till I go for my NYSC. Due to it’s a student environment and its 8am to 6pm, and the manager just started new in the area, I still managed the pay, N8,000. Customer response was very poor. Sometimes I do stay the whole day without any person coming to do any printing, photocopy or any job in my center.

This particular Wednesday afternoon after a rough morning. PHCN disconnected our power without no good reasons. So we were just left to use generator. Secondly, a man came and did a job without paying. It really hurts. I thought I had had enough that morning. Coming to afternoon, I was in the shop when a lady just walked in. the way she badged in sef was annoying. She was in a haste and looked angry. She asked if we have internet service. I told her we do. She said I should Google some works, do printing and photocopy for her. I just smiled. “My friend come and do this things for me, you are just looking and smiling like a goat,” she shouted at me. I was surprised because of her outburst as if I was her slave. I still kept my cool and calmness as I collected the work from her. “Don’t you people have A.C here?” she asked. I told her we didn’t. Na so she begin complain that other business centers have but it seemed we are so wretched. She couldn’t just understand why she was just raining curses on me. We have never met before neither has she been to our center before. I kept cool and told her not to worry that we would get A.C. I began her work. At a time she began complaining that I was too slow and I wasn’t getting the right results she wanted from Google and I was wasting her time. I looked at her and smiled and kept calm even when I was boiling inside me. I looked at her and told her to calm down that she will get what she is looking for. She began comparing our center with other big centers around Uniport. That if not because the other big business centers were full of people working she wouldn’t have come to our own. I began pleading with her to exercise patience. I even went as far as getting her refreshment when she said she wanted to get something to eat. I became the errand boy. After about 3 hours of work. After I don burn about 1gb of data and the printing and photocopies, she gave me N350. I tried to explain to her that her money was N2,750, but madam no gree. She said she wasn’t going to pay for the internet service because I didn’t get the actual things she wanted. And infact sef I don’t deserve to be paid. The thing pained me but I still smiled, trying to be friendly. But I no fit drag with her. I had to let go as she left. But she didn’t leave without telling me that I was useless in that shop, that my Oga should even employ another person. And she packed the work she said I didn’t don well. She carry dem go, and na generator I take run the work. To think she was very beautiful, young with that kind of attitude. I was really troubled when I got home. I felt humiliated but I still encouraged myself.

The next day, I was sitting in the shop when the troublesome woman that woman that didn’t pay me the previous day came in. I greeted her so well as if nothing happened the previous. And she replied me well, asking me how my night was. I was surprised, that was a woman that was abusing me, saying she won’t come to our shop again. Everything about her seems to have changed that day as she told me that her project supervisor approved and gave an excellent recommendation of her work, the one I help her with the previous day. I smiled in happiness. Na so she begin apologize for what she did the previous day. She said I should just forgive her because she had a bad day in her office and one of her kid was sick, couple with her pregnancy. She gave me money for the previous day and additional N1,000 for me. She went out and bought snacks for me oo. She asked me for my name and number. I told her I was a graduate and awaiting NYSC. She said I should call her mummy Nifemi. She asked why I didn’t even react when she was raining abuses the previous day, I was just smiling. I told her I am slow to anger. She said she liked my nature, that I know how to handle customers.

That was how became friends and she became a special customer. Infact she directed all her friends doing PhD and masters degree to our business center to be doing their works. Before we know wetin dey happen our shop don dey full with so many customers. Sometimes she calls me to come and collect work from her house to do for her. She introduced me to her husband sef and I became a very good friend to the family. Their family is very rich. Her husband works in a popular gas firm in Port Harcourt. They deal in supplies, marine gas. The company is owned by the husband, Daddy Nifemi.
Fortunately, when I printed my call-up letter, I was so surprised that I was posted to Rivers state. I was happy oo even though I wanted Abuja. Unfortunately, my uncle I was staying with was transferred to Abia state. He and his family moved to Abia while I began my PPA in Akuku-toru LGA. Even when I had stopped work at the business center, mummy and daddy Nifemi still keep intouch with me. Sometimes they do call me and I go to spend weekends in their house. At a time when am less busy, daddy Nifemi do take me along to work as his personal assistance (PA). He even takes me to oil rigs. After the outings, he would give me some money. They trusted me to the extent that I was part of the few they allow into their home and even stay with them. Sometimes I do leave Abonuma to Port Harcourt to bring back their kids from school. i help in supervising the cleaning of their homes. Sometimes they will give me money and some other times they won’t. I go just come back empty handed, but I didn’t care. My friends would laugh at me that am an errand boy. Dem go say na house boy and plate I dey wash for daddy Nifemi’s mansion.

One particular incident, I had withdrawn all my money and sent to my mom and siblings for upkeep and school. I barely had money on me. Daddy Nifemi invited me to their house for a paper work. I went and spent 3 days there and when I was coming back nothing was given to me. Even though I expected it but never saw, I was very broke. I managed to get to Abonuma to my friends laughing at me that my errand didn’t work that day. Dem say my errand for that day na in vein because I was not given money. Though I never complained because the Nifemis are trying so well for me. And I was doing everything for them from the bottom of my heart.
On the 5th of January 2016 after I had resumed to my PPA, daddy Nifemi called me that I should come to Port Harcourt immediately that he wants me to do something for him since corpers are yet to resume in their schools. Na so I go Port Harcourt. We went to an oil rig with his workers. After 2 days with him, when we got to his house in Port Harcourt. He said he has bought a new car to his fleets. He handed me the key to one his cars, a Honda EOD. He said I should take it, and the next day he would follow me to go and change ownership and paper works to my name. He also gave me an appointment letter that I have been automatically employed in his gas company. He said I should officially resume after my passing our parade (POP), but I will still be on salary for the remaining months of my service. He also gave me money for my project management program. I had once told him that I will be doing the course after my service. He gave me money and asked me to register immediately because I will use the knowledge in his company. I was so happy because I never expected it. One of the things he told me was that I am loyal and he had been watching me. He admired my approach to things.
Men and brethren, na so my life don change oooo. I am not telling this story to brag but to inspire us. I began to reminisce when I first met mummy Nifemi at my former working place. As she was ranting that day, what of if I had shouted at her? What of if I abused and chased her arrogantly from the shop? With her attitude, what of if I had treated her badly the way she did, she may not have returned back and I might not get to see her again. I might not have seen this kind of opportunity. I didn’t judge her from the attitude she portrayed that day, I still welcomed her the next day, which made us become close and now I am favoured. Now the errand boy has become the Oga. My life has changed. Na my friends wan start to run errand for me now.

Episode 17

The harsh harmattan wind bit deeply into the skin of the handsome young man but he couldn't care less. His shoes made noiseless sounds on the tarred surface despite his hasty movements. He neither greeted nor acknowledged any greeting from passers-by. He'd left the church even before the mass had ended. There was no need wasting his time there. It was time to be alone. Alone to lick his wounds like an injured dog. Home couldn't be reached fast enough.

Sighting his house at a distance, he broke into a run. Gasping for breath, he knocked rapidly on the gate when he got there. Complaining bitterly at the way the knocks came, the gateman did his duty. Felix didn't even spare him a glance as he rushed into the house, opened the front door and took hasty steps to his room. Finally in his well-arranged room, he shut the door and slid to the ground. His heart felt as if it was melting.

They-- the late girl's friends, had booked a mass in honour of his late ex-girlfriend. They had not been able to attend the poor girl's funeral owing to the fact that her aunt had disappeared after her demise leaving her father to fend for himself which had eventually led to his death. Rumor had it that Ivie's aunt was late too after moving her niece's corpse to Ivie's father's village for burial. And also that her father's sacrifice had gone wrong somewhere along the line, hence his demise as well. It was the catholic church who handled his burial when his only surviving daughter was nowhere to be found and his only surviving granddaughter was dead as a result of an abortion gone wrong.

Felix couldn't describe the way he'd felt when Obehi had called him weeping profusely to inform him of Ivie's death. She hadn't been at home when it happened but her younger brother had been one of the good Samaritans who had followed Ivie's aunt into her room to meet a lifeless body. They'd quickly rushed her to St. Camillus hospital in the neighboring town, Uromi where she'd been certified dead on arrival.

He'd shivered profusely like a leaf trying to go against a storm when he heard the cause of her death.

He'd killed her.

There was no other way of putting it. He'd killed Ivie. He as good as poured the liquid down her throat when he'd told her to abort the baby even though she'd not collected the money. Instant fever had made him paralysed on his bed and fear had gripped his heart. Everywhere he looked, he saw her. Not the beautiful Ivie he'd set his eyes on in church that fateful day but the Ivie he'd last seen in her house. Looking sick yet with eyes blazing that he could ask her to abort the baby. But he'd been so hurt at seeing Ehis sneaking out of her house that night, he'd not paused to weigh his actions. Without a shadow of doubt, he had believed then that she was innocent. That she had actually been carrying his baby and not Ehis's or that of another guy. He'd killed her and his unborn child. Depression and guilt had followed him home when he couldn't stay in school any longer.

Home had even been worse because everyone had pointed accusing fingers at him. Obehi had wept abundantly in his arms, confessing that she'd set Ehis up with Ivie though she later changed her mind, but she'd not gone to Ivie's house to ask her to go to the hospital with her after his accident. She'd wanted Felix to continue being angry with Ivie because she was still angry with her for betraying Felix's love with her brother. Both of them weren't the only guilty party. Obehi had also confessed that after hearing the news of Ivie's death, Ehis had confided in her that he'd tried raping Ivie after fruitless efforts of trying to sleep with her. She'd been so dedicated to Felix, it had annoyed him immensely. He'd also said that his life went to shambles after that act. He lost his job, his fiancee left him, so he'd sneaked into the village late one night to beg Ivie to forgive him in order for his life to come back to normal again but had met her aunt who furiously asked him to leave. Those words to Felix had been like an archer using his body for target practice. Even his mother couldn't look him in the eye. He'd heard she'd visited Ivie's house that particular morning to fight her aunt. His mother avoided him like a plague now.

The dejected young man slowly rose, went on his knees and crawled to his bed where he bent and took a box from underneath it. In anger at her supposed betrayal, he'd put everything that reminded him of his ex-girlfriend into a box. The first thing he saw was her gold-plated hair clip. She'd called him from home one day after her visit to say she'd forgotten her hair clip at his place and he'd told her he would keep it for her. Next was the set of sexy lingerie he'd bought her. He'd wanted to give her but never remembered to. His hands shook visibly when he lifted the heart-shaped box containing the engagment ring he'd bought her. Flicking it open, his teary gaze beheld the beautiful gold ring with a diamond nose. His tears dropped on her framed photograph. Lifting the photograph, he stared at his late ex-girlfriend. The photograph had been taken during her post UTME visit in Abraka. She was standing beside a black Toyota Camry, looking sexy as usual in tight blue denim and a powder blue ruffled blouse. Her braids were piled at the top her head, donut style and brown flat sandals protected her feet, and her face was carefully made up. Her head was tilted to the left and the smile on her face could light up a whole estate. She'd been out and out stunning.

A loud sob escaped him. Then another one. Then another. Before long he was wailing like someone who had lost it all. He called her name as he wept, begging and begging for forgiveness and for her to come back. As if on cue, his mother entered the room with tears running down her eyes. She'd attended the mass as well.

Felix angrily got up and spoke through his tear-thickened throat. "Are you happy now? Are you happy? Not only is she gone from my life, she's gone from this world as well. Now you're free to marry me. Mummy, you must marry me."

The broken woman fell to her knees, weeping profusely. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," she chanted but Felix was having none of that. He continued ranting.

"As if the misery I gave her wasn't enough when I told her to abort my baby, you went to her house to fight her and her aunt. Mummy why? An orphan at that. Hadn't she suffered enough? That must surely have been the last straw for her which had made her take overdose of that awful concoction just to make sure the baby died. Oh, God, will you ever forgive me? Will Ivie ever forgive me in the world beyond?"

His mother rose slowly and held him, "I'm sorry. I got carried away with anger. I don't know what got into me."

They both crumbled to the floor, weeping as if their hearts were about to pop out of their chests. Felix couldn't get his last view of Ivie out of his mind. How she most have suffered. Alone with no one to believe her innocence. He should look for Ehis to kill. But he was just as guilty as Ehis. Why had he allowed emotions rule his sense of judgement?

Oh, God, Ivie!

He couldn't believe the first girl he'd loved with all his heart had died through his foolishness. There was blood on his hands now. If only he could turn back the hands of time, he'd give her the benefit of the doubt. But he'd seen her in a state of UnCloth with Ehis. What would anyone believe?

But really, if he was sincere with himself, couldn't he have forgiven her? He had wanted to get engaged to her, to speak the 'for better, for worse' vows to her but when the worse came, he couldn't even stand with her. And what sort of friends did he have? Obehi had lied. Ose and Kenneth hadn't even been able to talk to him to stop him from taking rash decisions even though Ivie had called them a number of times to beg them. Only Oghenero had asked him if he was sure he was doing the right thing when he'd wanted to cut her off totally. But too angry to think properly, he'd shut his friend down. Oh, what a pity. His anger had killed a soul.

Oh, Ivie, wherever you are, please forgive me. Please put it down to youthful exuberance. Please, he prayed inwardly.

When he remembered the story of her life--which the late girl had told him--how she'd suffered all her life until she met him and he'd brought happiness into her life, a loud sob pushed forth from his throat. She'd suffered again before her death. He who had brought her so much happiness, had equally dished out sorrow. What a wretched life she lived. God had given him a maltreated bird to take care of but his own maltreatment had been worse and the bird had died.

The whole house was filled with the sound of mourning from the regretful mother and son.

It's too late to cry when the head is off.
