Treasury Bills in a layman's term is a risk free investment which involves you giving your money to the government. It is one of the safest investments to do & yours truly have been involved in it since my banking days. Most banks will not tell you about Treasury Bill's because once you apply for treasury bills the money leaves the bank's balance sheet totally. So they will ask you to do Fix deposit, then they will use your money for treasury bills & give you a lower rate. For example if treasury Bills is 10%. They will do Treasury Bills at 10% & give you 3% in fix deposit & take 7%. Stay Woke!!! Then if your money is in current account, lobatan!!! You get nothing. Savings account can get like 1-2%. If you are like me that is always looking for multiple sources of income then this lecture is for you. @i.investng app powered by sterling bank has made things easy for prospective treasury bill investors. Download the app & do the following

.
7. Input the amount you want to invest (minimum is #100,000)
.
8. Click to view your return on investment (If you think the amount is small then trying leaving your money in the bank). They will help you chop that small amount for you.
.
9 You can see your maturity date etc
.
10. You need to fund the app. Click to fund the app
.
11. You can fund your I-invest app via internet bank
.
12. Make sure you update your KYC (Know your customer). You need a passport photograph, evidence of address (Utility bill) & an Identity card.
.
13. You can terminate your investment at anytime & take your money bank.
.
14. Remember your interest is paid upfront so make sure you update your documents so you can withdraw easily.

Happy Sunday Fam,

I was at First Bank last week, filled the form for secondary market at 15% for 182 Days.

After some conversations with the lady n charge, she advised that I change it to primary market, which the next auction will be this week wednesday. She said the last rate at primary market was 17% for 182 days which she thinks might be a bit higher or just the same this week.

So, I decided to go with her advice and settled for this week's primary market sales but I didn't specify my bid, leaving it to bank rate.

What do you guys think?
Most bankers are really out of touch with what's happening in the Tbills market. Smh

So sad right now. I felt betrayed. The contact in question is a close friend. Should have invested the money since last month and even got a better rate. This guy begged me, Had to put the cash in fix deposit for his sake cos he needed it to safe his ass, with an agreement that it will be terminated by first week of October to meet Up with Wednesday tb bidding. Sad part is, he's the one in charge of tb so I think it's a deliberate mistake. My confusion is that the fix deposit has been terminated and the money already in my savings account, so I don't know why he would do that. In fact I got so worried, had to call him this weekend and he said I'm not the only one, that many people have not been debited. Thank God I ask here, I mostly don't ask questions here cos I felt I had an edge with an insider.
All is well. I will walk into bank on Monday and grab any secondary market offer on ground. Thanks guys
You already made a mistake thinking your money will save him from being sacked. Every month comes with a fresh target and Tbills in Stanbic in handled by the Enquiry staff. The Enquiry staff is not under much pressure to bring in Liability (cash) like the Marketers/Relationship managers as that is their KRA. That is how one banker in Sterling was begging me to do fix deposit as against Tbills. In his words 'Do it for me'... Mtcheww I didn't even bother to reply him... My body language spoke volumes.

Anyone yet to be debited by stanbic? My account officer keep telling me stanbic 364 bid was successful yet I have not been debited. Please house, does it takes this long? I don't have the stomach for patience right now, rate is really going down and I want to lock in something good before it too late. Already thinking of going for secondary market on Monday but my contact at stanbic keep telling me I will be debited cos the bid went through. Any advice please please please...
364 days for stanbic was successful and accounts were debited on thursday night. If your account has not been debited by this time then it is either the person that logged it doesn't know how to log or forgot to log it. How unfortunate. Pele.

Well eurobond is not for chicken hearted fellow, a banker "CATEGORICALLY" told me capital is not guaranteed.

Na purely forex, and i i want to do it, i will open dorm account and go buy $,£ or € from aboki that they "bank" wont fund d dorm accoubt for me with my naira: and if we calculate the difference btw aboki and official rate, na waya....

And d funniest thing is that they might likely not allow me withdraw foreign currencies from d dorm account...bla bla bla, they will simply tell me that there is no usd, euro or pound available, there4 leaving u with d option of converting it to naira at official rate ...and that 1 na loss, except i get on huge stolen money

Butbhe advised tbills, mmf,.... And he discouraged me doing fixed deposit(but i can go ahead if d condition is ok by me)
Wawuuuuuu!!! Osondu!!! shocked shocked shocked

My bro, I was surprised that nobody here knows the answer to this question. I have asked similar questions many times and nobody has given a reasonable answer..
and why are you surprised if I may ask? Did you keep any paid expert here to answer your questions? It's an open forum and people only talk about what they know. If no one answers you, just assume no one knows and waka pass. Saying no one gave you a reasonable answer is a slight to the very helpful and informative people in this forum.
