The incessant killings of girls in Port Harcourt have evolved itself as a trend. In the past weeks, over 10 ladies have lost their lives in a hotel room, and it's alleged that this act is masterminded by a serial killer(s).

Around 9:00am this morning, youths and women gathered at the government house vicinity to embark on a protest, calling out the authorities in charge of security to intervene in order to curb the rate of killings - killings of girls and women in Port Harcourt.

It all happened last year, July precisely. This DJ involved was invited to handle a show at Enitonna high school, borikiri, Port Harcourt — end of year party, 2018 session. While he was showcasing his expertise, he made a video which had little children “vibing” to one of Duncan Mighty's songs.

It was a thing of luck for one Mr Christopher Akpotohwo aka Akpos London, a popular socialite and a celebrity local M.C in Obiaruku, the head quarters of Ukwuani LGA Delta state, to have survived a terrible criminal attack from some cult hoodlums.

Crime reporters gathered that on the 15th of June 2019, a group of cult hoodlums on a robbery mission, invaded and attacked one Akpos London, a socialite from Obiaruku with guns and matches at about 10pm at night.

According to our informant, the cult members who carried out the robbery/cult attack were led by one young man whose identity is Uche Agboroko Lovy's Son from Obiaruku.

It was gathered that upon invading the premises of Akpos London, at a building behind the polaris bank in obiaruku town, the robbers inflicted serious mayhem and injury on Akpos London, his wife and children with cutlasses while shooting sporadically in the air to rid them of their belongings.

The hoodlums were said to have scampered for their safety when men of local vigilante and Nigerian police arrived location of the incident.

As at the time of filing this report, the young man Uche and his cult cohorts are at large and are being trailed by the men of the Nigerian Police Anti robbery squad Delta state.

Mr Christopher Akpotohwo we confirmed, is a staff of the Delta state ministry of justice.

He is said to be receiving clinical attention at a well secured private hospital yet to be disclosed due to the serious injuries inflicted on him.

Obiaruku has recently become a very unsecured town to live in as a result of cultism and robbery incedences.

Operatives of the EFCC, Advance Fee Fraud Section, Abuja Headquarters in collaboration with operatives from the Benin Zonal Office in a joint operation on Friday, May 17, 2019 arrested 22 suspected internet fraudsters during an early morning raid at Sapele, Delta State.

The suspects, who are between the ages of 18 to 30, were smoked out of their hideout in an early morning operation, following action on intelligence report gathered by operatives. A day earlier, operatives from Abuja had arrested 2 in Ughelli.

Items recovered from them include laptop computers, iPhones, Android phones, ATM cards and three exotic vehicles - Benz C350, Benz ML 350 and Chrysler 300.

They have so far given useful information to operatives.

It's saddening how the act of suicide has turned into the latest trend. People indulge in the practice this unnecessary act called suicide like they are competing with someone. If it isn't because of low JAMB result, it's because of failed relationship - though there are more causes.



On the same vein, the Facebook User, Nengi Jegelski Peron shared her story which to others would have been a perfect reason to commit suicide. But, she fought through it, and today she can look back and be glad she didn't take the absurd step, suicide.



Here's her story:

I'm a lady o. My mum had heart issues when I managed to get into uniben. My step dad lies to her he sends me 15k monthly when he sends me 4k which ended in my 1st year. 4k a month for feeding and all the entire month...I couldn't afford books. All my days in uniben, I could boast of just one #700 text book. I'm my second year, my step dad packed and left my mum, she was sick, she was weighing 105 when she was OK, as at this time she was weighing 52! There was nothing she could do about my situation.

I fetched water for other student, washed clothes and plates just to get #500 to survive, this was how I lived in Ekosodin Benin. Till I graduated. Though I came out with a 3rd class because I couldn't meet up with a lot of things I needed to do as a student. But glory to God all the same. Sometimes, for 3days I eat 1ce. Today, all that is story. I have friends and neighbors in school that could relate to this! I kept telling myself, I'm strong enough to go through this and come out well.

Even God made us understand this fact.

This guy is just being lazy, and needs attention. Instead of him to get his ass together and do something. Sniper is #600, if you buy groundnut, #500 nylon #100, tie it, he will sell and get gain. People need to deprive themselves of temporary pleasure for a greater good. I can't imagine he still has hands and legs and is saying he wants to die! very shameful.

Did I mention using my own cloth to put as pad when my period is on? Or the fact that I had no friends in my class because I didnt have good cloths to wear? Or the fact that i almost died of complex? I even opt to follow Uwa and her friend on one occasion to do runs, but they turned me down because I was so unkempt. I would stay on my small foam and cry.

One ALIEZE IKECHUKWU whose photograph is tagged below, a 22yr old youth from Ebonyi State, Abakeleki but lives in Owerri Imo state has been arrested by men of the Nigerian police force for defrauding Nigerians with fake Facebook account created with the name and image of Hon Prince Ned Nwoko.

Alieze Ikechukwu was arrested few days ago by men of the Nigerian police force SIB unit for cyber crime, impersonation and fraudulent social practices.

In 2018, it was alleged that this young man created a fake Facebook and other social media accounts with the name and photograph of Hon Prince Ned Nwoko and has since defrauded over 20 unsuspecting Nigerians to the tune of over 10 million naira. He created an empowerment / contract bid forms using the logo of the federal ministry of agriculture Abuja and some verifiable names at the ministry to lure and deceive unsuspecting good Nigerians into believing that he is Hon Prince Ned Nwoko and that he is willing to assist his victims to gain contract jobs and empowerment in the federal ministry of Agriculture. His fraudulent gimmick was put on the watch by men of the Nigerian police force after some of his victims realized that they had been duped of their hard earned money and contacted the Prince Ned Nwoko office to confirm the authenticity of the said social media accounts and the matter was reported to the police for further investigation.

When Alieze was finally trailed and nabbed at his Owerri hidden resident, it was discovered that he was living in abundance according to the flow of his fraudulent laggese. He owns a number of material wealth usually associated with the materially blessed in the society. Good mien, calm and terribly intelligent to a fault but fraudulently bias and criminally dangerous too. He rows with different cars, golden bracelets and ladies of easy virtues who surrounded his vicinity to mention but a few.

Alieze did not waste any precious time before confessing to his local yahoo crime and had since been cooling off his heels in the Nigerian police cell while assisting the police in a more organised criminal investigation towards nabbing his cohorts.

Crime does not pay and we hope that after the investigations and arrest are concluded, this young man and his folks will be charged to court for further legal actions.

... Orders PDP, INEC To Publish Ned Nwoko's Name As Authentic Winner Of PDP Primaries

The Federal High Court Abuja, today sacked Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, declaring that from evidence available to the court from the PDP primary election for Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko won and so was the authentic candidate of the party for the 2019 senatorial election.

The presiding Judge, Honourable Justice A.R. Mohammed delivered the judgment which lasted for one hour thirty five minutes.

The Judge also ordered the PDP and INEC to immediately publish the name of Prince Ned Nwoko as the authentic candidate of PDP for validly scoring the majority of votes cast in the PDP primary election for Delta North senatorial district.

Making further pronouncements, Justice Mohammed equally ordered Peter Nwaoboshi to stop parading himself as the Senator-elect for Delta North senatorial district forthwith.

Dissecting all the matters in contention, the Judge had averred that the onus lied on PDP as the 2nd Defendant and Peter Nwaoboshi as the 3rd Defendant to prove that Nwaoboshi actually won the primary election by producing the primary election materials; but instead refused to respect court orders for the production of the ballot papers.

He posited that all evidence as provided by the Plaintiff has proved that Ned Nwoko won the primary election as conducted by the PDP on the 2nd of October, 2019; while also maintaining that constitutional provisions were followed in filing a substantive suit against the 1st, 2nd and 3rd defendants in the case.

Speaking to journalists immediately after the judgement, the lead counsel to the Plaintiff (Nwoko), Barr. Onyeka Nwaokolo said that this was a landmark judgement.

He stressed that the summary of the matter was to tell people that manipulation of electoral processes is no longer in vogue, adding that such could always be quashed except not properly challenged.

The lawyer affirmed that the 2nd and 3rd defendants came to an open court and denied that the exhibits tendered were not the certified true copy of the ballot papers used in the primary election, even when they couldn't produce any to authenticate their case.

According to the counsel, "There is hope for the common man in this judgement. It's a landmark judgement, which has further deepen our democratic beliefs".

However, representing Senator Peter Nwaoboshi in court was Barr. Emmanuel Enoiden, who came with a retinue of lawyers like the counsel to the Plaintiff (Ned Nwoko).

At the conclusion of the verdict, the lawyer (Enoiden) was not available for interview.

Hon Prince Ned Nwoko has donated some millions to cater for the medical treatment of some physically challenged Anioma Indigenes who paid him a courtesy call at his Mount Ned Nwoko resort Idumuje-Ugboko yesterday.

In his brief address to the physically challenged Anioma indigenes whom he calls his friends, the Star Prince admonished them to use the funds judiciously in taking good medical care of themselves while stating that his phone line remains open to them whenever they need to talk with him as always.

Responding, one of the Anioma beneficiaries who pleaded anonimity appreciated the Star Prince for always responding to their needs whenever they called on him. According to the speaker, "if only we have two of your kind in Anioma land, Anioma would have witnessed more massive human capital development but it is our prayers that God will continue to protect and bless you more for being a father to the fatherless and to the needy"

The Star Prince who recently donated the sum of 100million naira for the reconstruction of a federal road in Delta state and also released another 59million Naira as scholarship grant for Anioma and verifiable Delta state students, has remained on the news for his good gestures towards humanity.

Earlier today, there were reports online that former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, had decamped from PDP to APC. He's come out to deny this claim. Reacting via his twitter handle, Obanikoro said he only attended the quarterly town hall meeting of his constituency hosted by Senator Oluremi Tinubu and that his presence there was interpreted as him decamping to the APC.

To celebrate this year's Democracy day, acting president, Yemi Osinbajo, this morning addressed the nation. In his speech, he highlighted the progress made by the Military in the war against Boko Haram, engagement of the Niger Deltans. He said the government is working with State governments, and tasking security agencies with designing effective strategies and interventions that will bring this menace to an end.


On the fight against corruption, Osinbajo said the war against corruption is on course and that the government will not relent in its fight to bring those who looted government funds within the last few years to book. He said the Finance ministry through the Treasury Single Account has blocked all leakages in government funds.

On the economy, he expressed regret at the recession and the rippled effect it has had on employment rates. He says the government is working hard at diversifying the economy so that Nigeria will not only depend on oil. He says the social intervention programme is geared towards improving the economy. He says the government is working had at clearing the mess it inherited form the past administration.

On infrastructure, Osinbajo says the government is making progress in creating roads, railways and also developing the airports.
On food security, he says the government is taking seriously its ambition of agricultural self-sufficiency. He said that since 2015, Nigeria's imports of rice have dropped by 90 percent, while domestic production has almost tripled. He says the goal is to produce enough rice to meet local demand by 2019.

Osinbajo says the Buhari led administration have demonstrated a willingness to learn from its mistakes and to improve on its successes. He says the critical areas this government has to address fully in the next two years are Agriculture and food security, Energy, (power and Petroleum,) Industrialization and Transport infrastructure. Every step of the way it will be working with the private sector, giving them the necessary incentives and creating an environment to invest and do business. He says the vision President Buhari has is for a country that grows what it eats and produces what it consumes, a country that no longer has to import petroleum products, and develops a lucrative petrochemical industry, Very importantly it is for a country whose fortunes are no longer tied to the price of a barrel of crude, but instead to the boundless talent and energy of its people, young and old, male and female as they invest in diverse areas of the economy.

Osinbajo says the government will not get employ short cut measures to achieve short-lasting gains.

He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the restoration of full health of President Buhari.

Dear Nigerians, I bring you good wishes from President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who as we all know is away from the country on medical vacation.
Today marks the second anniversary of our assumption of office. We must thank the Almighty God not only for preserving our lives to celebrate this second anniversary, but for giving us hope, strength and confidence as we faced the challenges of the past two years.
Our administration outlined three specific areas for our immediate intervention on assumption of office: these were Security, Corruption and the Economy.

In the Northeast of our country, the terrorist group Boko Haram openly challenged the sovereignty and continued existence of the state, killing, maiming,and abducting, causing the displacement of the largest number of our citizens in recent history. Beyond the North East they extended their mindless killings, as far away as Abuja, Kano And Kaduna.
But with new leadership and renewed confidence our gallant military immediately began to put Boko Haram on the back foot. We have restored broken-down relations with our neighbours, Chad, Cameroon and Niger – allies without whom the war against terror would have been extremely difficult to win. We have re-organized and equipped our Armed Forces, and inspired them to heroic feats; we have also revitalized the regional Multinational Joint Task Force, by providing the required funding and leadership.
The positive results are clear for all to see. In the last two years close to one million displaced persons have returned home. 106 of our daughters from Chibok have regained their freedom, after more than two years in captivity, in addition to the thousands of other captives who have since tasted freedom.
Schools, hospitals and businesses are springing back to life across the Northeast, especially in Borno State, the epicentre of the crisis. Farmers are returning to the farms from which they fled in the wake of Boko Haram. Finally, our people are getting a chance to begin the urgent task of rebuilding their lives.
Across the country, in the Niger Delta, and in parts of the North Central region, we are engaging with local communities, to understand their grievances, and to create solutions that respond to these grievances adequately and enduringly.
President Buhari’s New Vision for the Niger Delta is a comprehensive peace, security and development plan that will ensure that the people benefit fully from the wealth of the region, and we have seen to it that it is the product of deep and extensive consultations, and that it has now moved from idea to execution.

Included in that New Vision is the long-overdue environmental clean-up of the Niger Delta beginning with Ogoni-land, which we launched last year.
More recent threats to security such as the herdsmen clashes with farmers in many parts of the country sometimes leading to fatalities and loss of livelihoods and property have also preoccupied our security structures. We are working with State governments, and tasking our security agencies with designing effective strategies and interventions that will bring this menace to an end. We are determined to ensure that anyone who uses violence, or carries arms without legal authority is apprehended and sanctioned.

In the fight against corruption, we have focused on bringing persons accused of corruption to justice. We believe that the looting of public resources that took place in the past few years has to be accounted for. Funds appropriated to build roads, railway lines, and power plants, and to equip the military, that had been stolen or diverted into private pockets, must be retrieved and the culprits brought to justice. Many have said that the process is slow, and that is true, corruption has fought back with tremendous resources and our system of administration of justice has been quite slow.

But the good news for justice is that our law does not recognize a time bar for the prosecution of corruption and other crimes, and we will not relent in our efforts to apprehend and bring corruption suspects to justice. We are also re-equipping our prosecution teams, and part of the expected judicial reforms is to dedicate some specific courts to the trial of corruption cases.
We are also institutionalizing safeguards and deterrents. We have expanded the coverage of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).

We have introduced more efficient accounting and budgeting systems across the Federal Government. We have also launched an extremely successful Whistleblower Policy.
The Efficiency Unit of the Federal Ministry of Finance has succeeded in plugging leakages amounting to billions of naira, over the last two years. We have ended expensive and much-abused fertilizer and petrol subsidy regimes.
We have taken very seriously our promise to save and invest for the future, even against the backdrop of our revenue challenges, and we have in the last two years added US$500m to our Sovereign Wealth Fund and US$87m to the Excess Crude Account. This is the very opposite of the situation before now, when rising oil prices failed to translate to rising levels of savings and investment.

Admittedly, the economy has proven to be the biggest challenge of all. Let me first express just how concerned we have been, since this administration took office, about the impact of the economic difficulties on our citizens.

Through no fault of theirs, some companies shut down their operations, others downsized; people lost jobs, had to endure rising food prices. In some States civil servants worked months on end without the guarantee of a salary, even as rents and school fees and other expenses continued to show up like clockwork.

We have been extremely mindful of the many sacrifices that you have had to make over the last few years. And for this reason this administration’s work on the economic front has been targeted at a combination of short-term interventions to cushion the pain, as well as medium to long term efforts aimed at rebuilding an economy that is no longer helplessly dependent on the price of crude oil.

Those short-term interventions include putting together a series of bailout packages for our State Governments, to enable them bridge their salary shortfalls – an issue the President has consistently expressed his concerns about. We also began the hard work of laying out a framework for our Social Intervention Programme, the most ambitious in the history of the country.

One of the first tasks of the Cabinet and the Economic Management Team was to put together a Strategic Implementation Plan for the 2016 budget, targeting initiatives that would create speedy yet lasting impact on the lives of Nigerians.

Indeed, much of 2016 was spent clearing the mess we inherited and putting the building blocks together for the future of our dreams; laying a solid foundation for the kind of future that you deserve as citizens of Nigeria.

In his Budget Presentation Speech to the National Assembly last December, President Buhari outlined our Economic Agenda in detail, and assured that 2017 -would be the year in which you would begin to see tangible benefits of all the planning and preparation work.
