mfonox:Hi there, I would suggest you explain the lodgement of N1.5 as the ECO couldn't understand how you got such money with an income of 150k. My brother had similar situation and all he did was explain the contribution in the additional information section of the form. He got his visa within a week. All the best! |

Hello VO, My sister is trying to apply for a US visa for our mother (she is based there). She tried to book an appointment for her and was given a date in October which is too early for her as she needs time to gather documents. She was then told to call a number to change the date. By this time she had already paid the visa fee. My mum called the number 3 times and was told that to book another date she needed to make another payment. How do we get a refund for the first payment made please? |

Portsmouth86:@op This may be a little too late but for the benefit of others, I only just recently supported my brother's application with some documents. For my bank statement, I only downloaded it from the website and saved as a PDF which i forwarded to my brother. He printed it and used for his application and was successful with it. What the case officer wants to see is regular inflow of income and possibly expenses. If they have any doubt, i guess they have the power to call your bank or even your employer for confirmation (not sure about this though) Hope this helps. 1 Like |

bonen: Not sure if this has been resolved but my brother had the same issue. He had to call the bank and then get the card registered. By then, we had made several attempts to pay for the application but was unsuccessful. He eventually called the ukvisa customer care and was advised to make a fresh application. That was when all went through. He got his visa within a week. Hope this helps. All the best. |

Alubosa: I dont think its advisable to stop breasfeeding abruptly. This is what it causes; swollen breasts and pain. Breast milk is produced in response to demand. She could either allow nature take its course (by feeding the boy but reducing the frequency gradually, this could take months but it would be pain free- this was what i did) or she endures the pain (my mom says its for a maximum of 1 week). Other moms here may have other ideas. All the best to her! |

victorD3: Either you save more money as worry359 suggested or you get your sister to support you partially financially. She can support your accommodation and living expenses but she will need to provide evidence she can do this by way of bank statement, tenancy/mortgage agreement and a letter explicitly stating she would take care of you. You would also need a letter from your employers as well. Good luck 1 Like |

esteria:Please dear, stop using sudocream. Sudocream is specially formulated for nappy rash and I think it's what is aggravating the issue. It seems to me you have dried out her skin. If you have access to double base gel,you could try using it as it would protect the skin with layers while moisturising it. Then if you use soap to bath her stop using it ( soap sometimes dries out babies skin). Look for an emollient, like oilatum and use instead. It would take time, but it should work. Goodluck! |

ginger123: Hi, I am not too sure but since her address is on the invitation letter, I would leave it that way to make matters less complicated. What you decide to do with your sister re your accomodation is between you two. These are my thoughts. Others may have different ideas. Goodluck with your application |

CharmyBliz:@CharmyBliz I didn't o! But I managed well, thank God. At 6 months, tried to wean him off breast milk, it was impossible so decided to go with the flow. We first have him water ( I had done exclusive bf) and then I bought cerelac ( no need to add milk) so I just topped it up with breast milk. I introduced other soft foods. I also gave him yoghurt ( Greek style) and Cheese as he had refused milk. Getting him used to all these took time and before u know it he turned 1. I switched to weetabix with full fresh milk. He stopped bf on his own at 14 months. He is now 32 months and eating almost all but sometimes he is picky! |

favoredgal: I couldn't agree less with favouredgal. My son never took the bottle as well and refused formula so gave breast milk till he was 14 months. Made all his cereals with milk and he had them. He walked at 10 months too and is doing well for a 2 and half year old now. Hope that reassures you! 3 Likes |

frantoy: I would not introduce this at 6 months. I would rather go for homemade ogi/a kamu and the likes without sugar. This is because bird custard has colourants which I personally feel a six month old should not be introduced to as at yet. I am not sure of milk, other moms may advise as I never gave my son any; he was breastfed. Welldone for the good work! |

joyousf: Most babies cry when they want to sleep. It's just natural. There are several school of thoughts for this. Some believe that when they cry, as long as they are not hungry and nappy does not need changing, leave them to cry it out and they will get used to falling asleep on their own. I think it's called "tough love". I am not a fan of it though. If you choose not to follow this method, trust me, it will get better with time. I enjoyed (and still do at 2 and half) putting my son to sleep though he is beginning to show signs of independence now. Just last night, I asked him to lie down on the bed and before I could do anything, he was fast asleep! I wish you the best with whatever decision you make. Remember, it gets better! Besides @ 3 months babies are getting used to the concept of day and night so it could be one of the reasons they need help with sleep. Not sure about the nappies though, hopefully other momies could advice. Cheers 3 Likes |

Iamfrank: @OP, This is one reason why we should do some things at the appropriate time. I don't think he is being fair to make comments like this. I suggest he talks with his girl and come up with ways to spice up their sex life, if he truly loves her. They could also try seeing a sex therapist. It may help, as long as he is willing to try. dajoaneke:@dajoaneke, I am not sure I totally agree with you. The same applies to men too. Or how do you explain GEJ wanting to run for presidency again, for example? Are you saying he is just being a man? Don't you think he is also intoxicated by power too? @OP, Your post is a sweeping statement. I think it depends on the woman. It's good for women to be independent, things are changing fast. You tell me, would you not want your daughter to be independent? A woman, just like any child has to be trained to cope with different situations in their walk in life, power being one of them. I rest my case! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Saimeritus:@OP, You are not a failure when it comes to relationships, Infact you treat your ladies well. However, as you have decided to take your position of no sex before marriage (which I must commend you for), it would be in your best interest to refrain from dating for now. I would suggest you build more platonic friendships with girls, just to have an understanding of them and I am sure in the process you will find someone that shares the same moral values as you. Please do not break your covenant because of this. It's not worth it. Be confident because I think you are doing the right thing. Wish you all the best! 1 Like |
