Good day Justwise and other good people in the house. Thank you all for your help and support for others. I will appreciate your advice on my visa application.

I applied for visa on the 28th of Oct and i was refused a 6 months visa application on the 15th of Nov. Reason for refusal was that I stated in my application my net salary of 200k+ which I supported with pay slips, bank statement etc. However they notice that on the 5th of October there was a cash deposit of 1.5m which I didn't explain the source therefore they are not convinced that that money is available for my use.

The 1.5m was contribution I was doing with a total of 10 other pple at 150k per month and it was my turn to collect end of September.

I want to know how best to explain the contribution. In my statement. They will notice a monthly direct debit of 150k to a particular person. That person is in charge of collating all d money and paying to d person whose turn it is to collect. And it was that same person that returned the 1.5m to me less 5k for admin services so he paid 1495000 on d 5th of Oct. I plan to print my statement from January to highlight the contributions.

As at date of application the balance in my account was about 1.2m

Since after application, I have spent some of the money. 357 on rent. I loaned first 150k to my cousin then another 80k which will be highlighted in d statement and she will pay back this month end.

Closing balance as at today is about 500k. I want to reapply after this month end. After my salary, refund of 230k from my cousin and a little bonus I am expecting I should have a little over 1m.

Im sorry this is a bit lengthy. I just want to know how best to explain d 1495000. Apart from highlighting in my statement the transfers. The guy in charge of collation has a personal biz. Is it OK if he issues me receipts monthly for collection of 150k to attach to my application?

I hope the 230k from my cousin will not be considered lodgement if I highlight the transfers of 150k and later 80k

My sister in law has also sent me 400k one time in april. And another 800k in July to help pay for some goods for her. Altho it wasn't raised as an issue b4 should I still explain it?

I operate a single account for both salary and every other transaction so there are soo many transactions on the account. Do I need to explain every single money that entered my account since January. Or just maybe the ones say over a certain amount.

I plan to submit again first week in December. Thank u for your kind assistance.

Once again I apologise for d length of my enquiry.
Hi there,
I would suggest you explain the lodgement of N1.5 as the ECO couldn't understand how you got such money with an income of 150k. My brother had similar situation and all he did was explain the contribution in the additional information section of the form. He got his visa within a week. All the best!

Hello VO,

My sister is trying to apply for a US visa for our mother
(she is based there). She tried to book an appointment for her and was given a date in October which is too early for her as she needs time to gather documents. She was then told to call a number to change the date. By this time she had already paid the visa fee. My mum called the number 3 times and was told that to book another date she needed to make another payment. How do we get a refund for the first payment made please?

Hi all

I need some advice on the bank statements I will need to supply to Sheffield for hubbys spouse visa application

My bank statements are online PDFs ive printed, and I seem to be just going over everything like a million times.

I have seen conflicting information

in the immigration appendix it states this:

(1) on official bank stationery; or
(2) electronic bank statements which are either accompanied by a letter
from the bank on its headed stationery confirming that the documents are
authentic or which bear th
e official stamp of the issuing bank on every
page.

All my pdf have headed paper etc.

has anyone had to get these stamped, my bank NatWest have said they do not stamp statements.

Please advise

thanky you smiley
@op
This may be a little too late but for the benefit of others, I only just recently supported my brother's application with some documents. For my bank statement, I only downloaded it from the website and saved as a PDF which i forwarded to my brother. He printed it and used for his application and was successful with it. What the case officer wants to see is regular inflow of income and possibly expenses. If they have any doubt, i guess they have the power to call your bank or even your employer for confirmation (not sure about this though)

Hope this helps.

Good morning all pls how do I pay for 2 yrs visa with naija MasterCard as per restrictions. Is there any other way thanks.

Not sure if this has been resolved but my brother had the same issue. He had to call the bank and then get the card registered. By then, we had made several attempts to pay for the application but was unsuccessful. He eventually called the ukvisa customer care and was advised to make a fresh application. That was when all went through. He got his visa within a week.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Good day mamas. Please o! I was the one that insisted my wife weans our 1yr 2mths boy. She's been doing it gradually but now her b.reas.ts are so engorged and the pain is unbearable. She googled and found out she could pump the milk away. This however stimulates production and it prolongs the whole thing. Please what other measure/method can be advised.

I dont think its advisable to stop breasfeeding abruptly. This is what it causes; swollen breasts and pain. Breast milk is produced in response to demand. She could either allow nature take its course (by feeding the boy but reducing the frequency gradually, this could take months but it would be pain free- this was what i did) or she endures the pain (my mom says its for a maximum of 1 week). Other moms here may have other ideas.

All the best to her!

Good Job you guys are doing here

Please I have an enquiry. I'm about to apply for a UK visa but I'm not sure of which because of my situations below:
1: I studied in the UK and stayed with my sister in her house
2: l came back to Nigeria after studies and got a job with my state civil service for 4 and a half yrs now and running

3: i have N500k in my account

4: My sister is a UK citizen and still stays in thesame town and house i intend visiting

5: I'm 33 yrs old

QUESTION

1: Should i request an invitation from her and a letter of confirmation that I will be staying with her OR

Should I just apply for 7 days tourist visa and book a hotel, however I am considering if VO will consider 500k appropriate for such expenditure.

2: won't the VO turn me down since I'm applying as a tourist to visit a town i schooled and stayed for 2yrs?

PLEASE !!!! I need an urgent response and God bless

Either you save more money as worry359 suggested or you get your sister to support you partially financially. She can support your accommodation and living expenses but she will need to provide evidence she can do this by way of bank statement, tenancy/mortgage agreement and a letter explicitly stating she would take care of you. You would also need a letter from your employers as well.

Good luck

Please dear, stop using sudocream. Sudocream is specially formulated for nappy rash and I think it's what is aggravating the issue. It seems to me you have dried out her skin. If you have access to double base gel,you could try using it as it would protect the skin with layers while moisturising it. Then if you use soap to bath her stop using it ( soap sometimes dries out babies skin). Look for an emollient, like oilatum and use instead. It would take time, but it should work.

Goodluck!

I thank all the contributors to this great forum abeg I am about to apply for a family visit visa and the invitation from my sister carries her home address which is a one bedroom apartment she stays with her husband. Is it okay if she rents a place close by for me. I was just wondering if it would be a problem that I am applying for a family visit but will not be staying with the family member. Thank you all

Hi,

I am not too sure but since her address is on the invitation letter, I would leave it that way to make matters less complicated. What you decide to do with your sister re your accomodation is between you two. These are my thoughts. Others may have different ideas.

U mean u didn't buy any formula 4baby after d 6months? Hw did u manage it?
@CharmyBliz
I didn't o! But I managed well, thank God. At 6 months, tried to wean him off breast milk, it was impossible so decided to go with the flow. We first have him water ( I had done exclusive bf) and then I bought cerelac ( no need to add milk) so I just topped it up with breast milk. I introduced other soft foods. I also gave him yoghurt ( Greek style) and Cheese as he had refused milk. Getting him used to all these took time and before u know it he turned 1. I switched to weetabix with full fresh milk. He stopped bf on his own at 14 months. He is now 32 months and eating almost all but sometimes he is picky!

Yup never took the bottle. Never took milk.

She takes it in her cereal and I have long weaned from the boobs

She walked at 9 months

Has 10teeth and is at a perfect weight.

I will say don't stress what you can't control. Put enough in her cereal.

I couldn't agree less with favouredgal. My son never took the bottle as well and refused formula so gave breast milk till he was 14 months. Made all his cereals with milk and he had them. He walked at 10 months too and is doing well for a 2 and half year old now. Hope that reassures you!

Hi mummies
i want to start my six months old baby on BIRD CUSTAND is it okay? Any mother use it? and advice on milk to use. tanx

I would not introduce this at 6 months. I would rather go for homemade ogi/a kamu and the likes without sugar. This is because bird custard has colourants which I personally feel a six month old should not be introduced to as at yet.

I am not sure of milk, other moms may advise as I never gave my son any; he was breastfed. Welldone for the good work!

how do you make your baby sleep easily. I don't know if this is normal. my three months baby cries n cries anytime he feels sleepy. I just think he should b able to fall asleep on his own without need for drama n trial whether its back or rocking on the hand.can't remember him falling asleep on his own by putting him on the bed in the past three weeks. is this OK? if not, how do I train him to sleep on his own n easily. I really hope he changes.

at what age or weight do babies use midi size diaper. Pampers mini became too small for him but when I tried Huggies midi it was too big. till I got Huggies mini which is ok . someone told me Huggies stretches well that's why. I am considering changing to Prince n princesses or dry love, wanna ask mamas using them whether they stretch well like Huggies. otherwise maybe I consider midi size.

Most babies cry when they want to sleep. It's just natural. There are several school of thoughts for this. Some believe that when they cry, as long as they are not hungry and nappy does not need changing, leave them to cry it out and they will get used to falling asleep on their own. I think it's called "tough love". I am not a fan of it though. If you choose not to follow this method, trust me, it will get better with time. I enjoyed (and still do at 2 and half) putting my son to sleep though he is beginning to show signs of independence now. Just last night, I asked him to lie down on the bed and before I could do anything, he was fast asleep! I wish you the best with whatever decision you make. Remember, it gets better! Besides @ 3 months babies are getting used to the concept of day and night so it could be one of the reasons they need help with sleep.
Not sure about the nappies though, hopefully other momies could advice.
Cheers

Also if I add a few more weeks to my holiday,as I plan to visit Scotland,Ireland too.will it be an issue?

No one here can tell you what chances you have. Interviews, in my opinion though, should increase the chances but them again it can work either way. You just have to wait till you get your passport back.

Please, mature advice is needed.

@OP,

This is one reason why we should do some things at the appropriate time.

I don't think he is being fair to make comments like this. I suggest he talks with his girl and come up with ways to spice up their sex life, if he truly loves her. They could also try seeing a sex therapist. It may help, as long as he is willing to try.

@OP,

Your post is a sweeping statement. I think it depends on the woman. It's good for women to be independent, things are changing fast. You tell me, would you not want your daughter to be independent? A woman, just like any child has to be trained to cope with different situations in their walk in life, power being one of them.

The past 3 girlfriend I had dumped me because I refused to do the thing with them. I'm from a very responsible family and I had a covenant with God not to have sex until marriage. I have been good to those girls , buys them lots of gift cos I'm on 3 scholarships.The day I went to the home of my 2nd gf, we were all alone in the house, she kept touching me but I didn't make a move. This infuriated her. The next day I called her, she keeps busying my calls. She dumped me just like that. My last gf came to my room at school the other day and I cooked for her, entertained her very well but when she showed green light , I rejected it. I have been calling her since then but she doesn't pick my calls. They all say that I'm not a man. pls what should I do to keep a good girl into a relationship? I think I am a failure when it comes to relationships. candid advice needed
@OP,

You are not a failure when it comes to relationships, Infact you treat your ladies well.

However, as you have decided to take your position of no sex before marriage (which I must commend you for), it would be in your best interest to refrain from dating for now. I would suggest you build more platonic friendships with girls, just to have an understanding of them and I am sure in the process you will find someone that shares the same moral values as you.

Please do not break your covenant because of this. It's not worth it. Be confident because I think you are doing the right thing.

Wish you all the best!
