The decomposed body of a 65-year-old medical doctor, Dr Gilbert Afam Gini has been recovered from his rented apartment in Awka, Anambra State capital.

Anambra State Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident said the corpse of the deceased was discovered by one Barr Duke Onyebuchi Ezeonwuka who visited the building he manages.

Haruna said

"On the 26/11/2019 at about 1:20pm, one Barr Duke Onyebuchi Ezeonwuka ‘m’ of God’s Own Plaza, located at No 26 Igweze street, Kwata junction Awka, reported at ‘B’ Division Awka, that on the same date at about 9:am, he visited a story building he manages, at No 9 Eze Crescent Ezinifite Okpuno, property of one Ugochukwu Okafor ‘m’ of Okeani village Oko in Orumba North LGA.

"The building was occupied by one Dr Gilbert Afam Gini aged 65 years, a native of Abacha in Idemili North LGA, who rented two of the 4-flat one storey building for a clinic and residency purpose, but discovered that all the doors were locked from within, his phone still switched off and he believed that he had travelled to Brazil as usual since September 2019 when he last saw him.

”He was however taken aback by an unusual odour oozing out from one of the rooms in the upper floor, which prompted him to call on neighbours who assisted to open the window, whereupon they saw the decomposed body in the room.

“Victim’s Gionee cell phone, which was plugged for charging was recovered. Photographs were taken. And that no implement of violence seen or observed and no foul play suspected from a critical analysis of the crime scene"

The deceased's relatives have been contacted and arrangements to evacuate the remains for autopsy and prevent disease outbreak in the vicinity is ongoing.

The husband of the PDP women leader murdered by thugs loyal to APC, Late Mrs. Acheju Abuh, has narrated how the wife died.

Recall that late Abuh was burnt alive on Monday by thugs after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Governor Yahaya Bello winner of the election.

The husband, Elder Simeon Babani Seidu Abuh, narrated that on the day of election, one APC supporter Ocholi Edicha in the company of other boys had allegedly threatened to deal with his younger brother, Gowon Abuh, who is a strong supporter of the PDP.

Elder Abuh returned home after casting his vote, leaving his wife behind to watch the electoral process.

"After some time My brother Gowon ran back home to inform me that “ Ocholi Edicha was beating my wife where she was sitting under a shade observing the process and when He (Gowon Abuh) and other people tried to intervene, He (Ocholi Edicha) attempted to stab him Gowon Abuh and he had to run back home”. As we were still talking one Elder Samuel Salami Agbali brought my wife on his motorcycle to our compound and advised that we rush her to hospital. I took her to Holy Memorial Hospital Ochadamu where she was attended to by one Dr. Agama. She was examined and was given some drugs to take and advised to rest due to the trauma of the attack."

The deceased was burnt to death a few days later after an APC supporter died during a ''fight'' with Elder Abuh's nephew.

ACCOUNT OF THE DEATH OF MY WIFE, HON. MRS SALOME ACHEJU ABUH AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTIES ON 18TH NOVEMBER 2019.

"My attention has been drawn to various stories both offline and online regarding the sorrowful death of my beloved wife, Hon. Mrs Salome Acheju Abuh, on Monday the 18th of November 2019 which happened at Ochadamu Ofu Local Government area of Kogi State Nigeria. I am constrained to set the records straight, despite the heaviness and pain I feel at this moment.
My wife, a devout Christian, a lover of peace who hates anything violent was a grassroot politician/community leader. She was a women leader for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the early years of her political career. She had her first elective position as an Honorable councilor in Ofu Local Government Council of Kogi State Nigeria between 2003-2007, she contested for Idah Federal Constituency for house of representative in (2007) and was the only woman among the contestants, she was also a Special Assistant on Grassroot Matters to His Excellency Capt. Idris Wada, (the then Executive Governor). She also contested in the last general elections for the State House of Assembly In 2018, all under the PDP platform. Until this unfortunate incidence, she was an active member of the party, a campaign team member for Engr. Dr. Musa Wada and the PDP Woman leader.
On Saturday 16th of November 2019, at the Ochadamu primary school polling unit, one Ocholi Edicha in the company of other boys told me that he was going to deal with my younger brother, Gowon Abuh, who is a strong supporter of the PDP, that He (Ocholi Edicha) and others were in the payroll of GYB 4+4. He (OCHOLI EDICHA) further said that this election is for the APC and there is nothing that anyone can do about it. I politely told him that there was no need for this that we are all brothers, we all drank the same flowing river, went to the same playing ground in the community and we shall still remain in the same community, politics notwithstanding.
After casting my vote, I headed home, leaving my wife behind to watch the electoral process. That Ocholi Edicha and others where in a drinking joint close to our house boasting on how they were going to deal with Gowon our younger brother who narrowly escaped from their attack on Saturday. According to his report Solomon, Gowon’s Son, overheard their boasting and pleaded with them on his father’s behalf to forget about the incidence. At this point one of them, Zekeri Awalu picked up a bottle and started pursing Solomon, while pursing Solomon he tripped and fell on his own knife which was stocked around his waist and unfortunately injured himself on the thigh while Solomon ran home to inform his father (Gowon Abuh) of what had ensued meanwhile, Zekeri Awalu was rushed to Holy Memorial Hospital at Ochadamu.
After the conversation with my Brother pastor Mark Abuh I immediately put a call home to Ojonugwa Alhassan my Cousin who told me he was at the hospital where the injured person was being attended to. According to him, the hospital, after administering first aid treatment was requesting for a police report before further treatment. While the doctors were waiting for the police report the friends of the injured got agitated and moved him to another hospital where he lost his life.
When the news of his death filtered into the town, angry APC Supporters came to the town chanting GYB 4+4, and shooting sporadically. People scampered for their lives and the APC Supporters headed to my house where my wife was resting unaware of what was happening in the community, the supporters surrounded my house shooting sporadically and further set the house ablaze and burnt my wife to death and completely burnt down the entire buildings in my compound. Afterwards the APC supporters headed to four other houses in the community who are known PDP Supporters and burnt down their houses.
Let me conclude here, that the attack on my wife on Saturday was a premeditated one and carried out on Monday 18th November 2019 when my wife and mother of my children was resting in our family house.
I hereby appeal for justice to prevail over this gruesome murder of my wife and loss of properties.

A man has become the first black person and the oldest to have a full face transplant.

Robert Chelsea had been waiting six years for the procedure while doctors tried to find a donor with the same skin tone so he didn't look like a completely different person.

Speaking to Time, the 68-year-old said he actually turned down first face doctors found for him as the donor had lighter skin and he wanted to wait for a better match.

After undergoing surgery at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital in July this year, Robert's story highlights the difficulties black patients face in the United States.

Robert told the publication:

"May God bless the donor and his family who chose to donate this precious gift and give me a second chance.

"Words cannot describe how I feel. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and feel very blessed to receive such an amazing gift."

The dad's life changed in 2013 when he was waiting for his car to cool down by the side of a freeway in Los Angeles. A drunk driver swerved into the left-hand shoulder - where Robert was waiting inside his vehicle - crashing into him. His car was engulfed in flames.

As a result of the devastating incident, he suffered burns to more than 60 percent of his face and body, he lost his lips, part of his nose, and his left ear.

In the months that followed, Robert underwent 18 surgeries at the University of California Irving Medical Center in a bid to graft skin onto his body and repair the damage caused.

At the time, one of his surgeons, Dr. Victor Joe, said he was "one of the sickest patients we've had".

In the US, black patients face a longer waiting time than white patients for major organs such as hearts, kidneys, and lungs. This is due, in part, to the fact that African Americans make up just 13 percent of the country's population but 30 percent of the transplant waiting list.

Looking back at the months and years that followed his tragic incident, Robert said people would stare at him as he passed by.

But whereas some may have been offended, Robert understood their shock.
"Do you see the way they look at me? It's cute. They're curious," he said. "I don't blame them, it's scary. It's like I'm wearing a Halloween mask."

Five years after the crash, Robert said with the help of his Christian faith he had come to terms with the way he looked, joking that he was "no knockout looker" before it happened.

But more than half a decade after that life-changing moment, Robert has made history, though speaking before his surgery he admitted it was something he's trying to come to terms with.

"There is a degree of pride, admittedly," he said. "And yet I'm not sure that it's something to be proud of. To celebrate an individual because they haven't done anything any more than anybody else, they just happened to be there at the right time ... there's nothing holy about those actions."

Yet, despite having improved his life, Robert admitted he couldn't help thinking about the family of the man whose face he now has.
He said:

"Losing a loved one and being asked something like this ... I can't imagine. I do feel hopeful that I can pick up some of the pieces that the family may have lost."

A woman, Tiffany Guest, 29, has been arrested by the police for leaving her dog and two cats without food.

The lady reportedly moved out of her apartment, flat 201, in Kenilworth, Warwickshire and left her pets behind with no food for 10 days

The animals became hungry, tearing through the apartment looking for anything to eat.

But after wolfing down the measly scraps of leftovers, skeletal Reggie and Ronnie perished and began to fester slumped on the floor.

And in a horrific bid to survive, Kray was forced to feast on the cats' bodies after watching them slowly die before his eyes.

When police broke in the house they found out the dog, Kray had eaten the bodies of the cats who starved to death.

Police tracked Tiffany Guest, pictured above, to her place of work blocks away from her former house but she ran away to Malta so as to avoid jail. Police later re-arrested her in 2018 at the British border when she tried coming back, and on Wednesday a court sentenced her to 16 weeks imprisonment and banned her from keeping animals for 15 years.

The RSPCA released pictures of Kray’s emaciated body and Reggie’s remains. RSPCA Inspector Boris Lasserre said to Metro UK after the case: ‘It is incomprehensible to think the suffering these pets must have endured and how terrified they must have been for such a long period of time before the cats died of starvation.

It must have been terrible for Kray to watch as the cats died in front of him. ‘There was evidence the pets had scavenged to try and feed themselves as the bin contents were all over the kitchen floor.

‘Just 14 days later, by being fed properly in RSPCA care he made an amazing recovery with a significant increase in weight.

‘Warwickshire Police officers did an amazing job in finding Kray, who they renamed Bobby, just in time as he would not have survived much longer. ‘He is a lovely gentle dog and made a remarkable recovery in RSPCA care and has now been re-homed.’

The Niger State government on Tuesday announced that has abolished any corporal punishment given to student by their teachers or seniors in school.

This Niger Strate government in collaboration with UNICEF said they want to eliminate corp[oral punishment in both the private and public schools across the state.

Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education, Mr. Abubakar Aliyu, during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna.

Aliyu made this known after inaugurating a one-day stakeholders’ sensitization on the findings of the UNICEF research on school-related gender-based violence.

It also focused on the research and implementation of the policy on the abolishment of corporal punishment in public and private schools in the state.

He said that eliminating corporal punishment in schools would encourage the enrollment of children in school, especially, the enrollment of the girl-child.

“In keeping pace with the facts of the finding of the research, Niger State Ministry of Education, while recognizing the negative implication of violence against children in school on enrollment, retention and completion issued a circular to all public and private primary and secondary schools abolishing corporal punishment,” he said.

The Permanent Secretary urged the key stakeholders in the education sector to understand the implication of violence and work collectively to prevent the menace toward better education for children.

“I charge you all as advocates to ensure that the policy statement on the abolishment of corporal punishment is implemented not only in our schools but our corporate lives,” he said.

The reason behind the arrest of the Nigeria Bureau De change king, Mompha has been revealed.

Mompha was arrested some days ago, but no one knows the reason for his arrest by Interpol.

Some tweeter users have allegedly reported that the Bureau De change King was arrested over a $5million internet scam.

An Instagram user, @TosinOlugbenga, reported that “Mompha escaped from Interpol arrest in Dubai and he flew to Nigeria secretly. He was tracked through his airline ticket and on Interpol request, he was arrested by EFCC on a $5m internet scam”.
