said, IFA, will bring prepaid card cookers to
hall kitchenettes, n u'd buy units to cook,
She also said prior to this new development,
we can use stoves or camp gas burners only,

Vice-
Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole has
assured the students and parents that his
administration was not planning to increase
either
tuition or accommodation fees for this
session, but
will regulate the consumption rate of
electricity in
all hostels in the institution.
To this end, the university has banned the use
of
hot plates, boiling rings and other electric
cooking
gadgets which are common among the
students,
promising to put in place efficient kitchenette
that
will make cooking decent and cost effective.
Speaking at the stakeholders’ forum,
comprising
student union leaders, management team and
other interest groups in preparation for the
2012/2013 session, Prof. Adewole disclosed
that
contrary to the speculation that the university
was
planning to heavily increase payable fees, the
school will still experiment with the idea of
cutting
cost by regulating the use of electricity in the
hostels which is really draining the financial
strength of the university.
“We spend over N400million to maintain the
hostels every year, whereas the total amount
we
realize in collecting tuition fees is N144million.
We
can all see that the university has really been
subsidizing the use of hostels by the students.
We
cannot continue this way as the money
coming
into the university is not enough to cater for
all the
needs. For this session, we shall experiment
with
cutting down the cost by regulating how you
(students) use electric power, but by next
session,
I don’t know what may happen”, he said.
Prof. Adewole who seriously warned the
students to
be prudent in using the resources in the
university
noted that the electricity bill drastically
reduced
during holiday, but added “the moment the
students resume, the bill quadruple, because
the
students use all manner of electric gadgets
including hot plates and boiling to cook
beans”
The VC who reviewed his two-year
performance in
office declared that his administration has not
done
badly at all because “we have been able to
deliver
on most of the promises including workers’
welfare,
stable electricity, renovation and rejuvenation
of
infrastructure, clean environment, restoration
of
student unionism among other achievements,
saying parents can now check the result of
their
children on-line”
He said, “My administration has also been able
to
computerize most of our activities on campus
such
as allocation of room and bed space which is
done
on-line. All fresh students are automatically
given
accommodation on-line because they are new
to
the environment, just as we have significantly
improved the learning conditions of our
students
with a view to making life more comfortable
for
them” Responding, the student union
President,
Mr. Raymond Edosa who thanked the VC for
his
relentless efforts aimed at improving the
learning
condition pointed out that Prof. Adewole was
one of
the most accessible Vice-Chancellor s in
Nigeria with
his phone number that is in the public
domains
and his Facebook account through which the
students interact with him and the kind of
positive
response they get” Mr. Edosa urged Prof.
Adewole
led management team to continue to be
students’
friendly pointing out that the condition of
many
students on campus is pitiable, “it is only a
kind of
consideration we are getting under this
administration that can ameliorate their
learning
condition”.

1)REFREES:Pls be careful cuz u wil checked thoroughly b4 u graduate nd if u are guilty of giving false info that's gross misconduct-punish ment is 2 semesters
2)skul fees- you can pay separately nd anyhow you like..bt pay skul fees early cuz of congestion
3)resumption-you are free to resume anytime u like as far as reg stil on..even it's more than a week
4)other fees-pls prepare for extra fees lyk faculty dues,hall dues nd departmental dues
5)pls ensure you come along with all ur documents.(.even your virginity test(lol)..)

(1) D freshers resumption date remains January 7th nd lectures begins January 21st.
(2) For dose of u dat av not seen either of ur infos "matric no or accommodation" don't make payment yet until u see dose tinz. However, dose tinz will be rectified soon nd if dey are nt rectified b4 resumption, u av all d whole time to report in skool wen we resume fully starting from Jan 7th.
(3) About d cooking issue, its safer u don't bring along much cooking utensiles to skool, though u may bring a little bit u can be able to convey around easily. So wen u stay close to a week in skool, u will av fully understand d situation of tinz as per cooking nd den u may decide.
(4) For dose in Mellamby hall, block A is a very good place to stay, it has flowing water nd its close to d hall gate where u can get all u want. I've stayed dere nd I know about it very well.
(5) As per payment, make ur skool fees payment to either mainstreet or wema bank branch anywhere in Nigeria nd ur accommodation fee of 14,000naira to Stambic bank branch anywhere. In Nigeria. U are collecting two pins.
(6) Following dis, proceed to d portal to confirm ur payment with dose pins. Do all oda tins u need to do like d filling of d personal data nd d rest online.
(7) If u pay, u might not collect ur pin immediately, u may be asked to come back d next day.
( If u are not able to submit ur room application, u may try using internet explorer on a pc since some pple has used it successfully, tho I'm yet to try it also.
(9) U are not receiving any hostel or anyoda notification on ur fone tru SMS, all notification will be found on UI portal.
(10) Registration has started fully. Dis is wot is called 'Registration'. So don't sit on d bicycle. If u av ur money now nd u av already received ur credentials like accomodation, matric no nd d rest, dere is nothing more u are waiting for, go to d banks nd pay so dat u may proceed wif ur registration process cos we still av a long way to go as per dis registration so don't waste ur time at all.
