Press Statement 29/09/2022 PDP PRAISES JUDICIARY, SAYS BABAYEMI STANDS EXPELLED FROM PDP Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has praised the judiciary for living up to its expectation as the house of justice even as the party emphatically reaffirmed that Prince Dotun Babayemi stand expelled from the PDP. The Supreme Court has affirmed the nomination of as PDP candidate during Osun 2022 governorship election. Supreme Court in a ruling on Thursday dismissed case filed by Dotun Babayemi, affirming that Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke was validly elected at PDP primary election. In a victory statement signed by its State Caretaker Chairman, Dr Adekunle Akindele, the party recalled its earlier statement that the Nigerian judiciary is a newly remodelled one which is addicted to due process in compliance with the law and its precedents, urging party supporters to remain calm. The party Chairman who described today as another landmark for Osun people commended the lord justices of the Supreme Court repeated that the court is no longer a ground for frivolity and diversionary cases, hailing the apex court for reinforcing the integrity of the court. While congratulating the Governor-elect, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, the party noted without equivocation that Prince Babayemi had since ceased to be a member of the PDP and warned against any accommodation of the expelled politician in PDP matters. "As we are rejoicing , we must note very strongly that a mole among us who was an active agent of the APC had since lost his membership of PDP. No organ or affiliates of the party should accommodate him or his agenda again within this party. "Any member of the party who continues to romance the expelled member risks being charged with anti-party activities and may face appropriate sanction. We must get rid of fifth columnists by descending heavily on them. We must uproot them and cut down their branches", the party Chairman stated. "We once again congratulate loyal party members and the good people of Osun state that light they voted for has again prevailed. We should all be rest assured that similar victory await us at the Tribunal", the statement concluded. E-signed: Dr Adekunle Akindele, State Caretaker Chairman, Osun state PDP. |

Lest we forget !!! Historical perspective of the hatred between the Igbos and the Yorubas I had the privilege of attending some meetings of the Yoruba and Igbo Leaders. I was not a Leader but a Youth who knew how to wash his hands. At one of those meetings in Owerri, I think in 1989 I think, I listened to Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba Leaders take the likes of Mbakwe, R. B. Okafor and others to the Cleaners when the Igbo said the Yoruba were betrayers, citing that Chief Obafemi Awolowo led them into secession with a promise that if the Igbo left Nigeria, the Yoruba would follow suit. They accused him of not following up on his promise. Trust Uncle Bola Ige ! He pointed to Chief Mbakwe and said, "you were there in the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu as I was. Is that statement correct ?" He turned to two other Igbo and two Yoruba Leaders who were at that meeting and asked the same question, saying he had transcripts of the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu. They kept quiet while the Yoruba Leaders affirmed that Awolowo never promised to follow the East into secession. What he said was that if the Igbo were "driven" out of Nigeria the Yoruba would take it seriously and reassess their own position. Igbo Leaders DID NOT CONTEST this version. Then Chief Bola Ige threw in the clincher ! "Who are you to accuse the Yoruba of betrayal ?" he roared, and continued: 1. At Independence Awolowo offered a joint Government between the NCNC and AG, with Zik as Prime Minister and Awo as Finance Minister. Awo and Zik "were still negotiating" when it was announced that Zik would be President in a coalition with NPC of the North. The East then collaborated in destroying the West and sending Awolowo and his Lieutenants to Jail ! 2. What of the 1965 elections which the West and the East agreed to boycott ? We met all night and reached agreement about 3 am on the day of the election. In the morning, while the Yoruba boycotted the election, the Igbo went to vote 3. After the 1979 elections Yoruba (UPN) and Igbo (APP ?) Leaders were still at the negotiating Table for a coalition when to their surprise, an announcement was heard that the Igbo (APP) had agreed to a coalition with the North (NPN). 4. After the 1983 elections, 1979 repeated itself. Not giving up, Awolowo reached out to Azikiwe again for cooperation. Talks started and they met in Benin where Awo pleaded passionately that only a collaboration between The Igbo and the Yoruba could save Nigeria. They didn't reach agreement but promised to meet again. Before the next meeting, the Igbo had again teamed up with the North. Uncle Bola paused and then continued "we can go on and on. So how dare you accuse the Yoruba of betrayal ? How many Igbo have been killed in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo (he mentioned other Yoruba towns)? You have your Businesses in the West and went to Western Schools. Yet you count the Yoruba as your Enemy. You get killed in Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Zaria etc and have your Goods looted yet you consider the Hausa/ Fulani your Friends. It's your choice. If you want to be Slaves for ever, we can't help you" I had never been so scared in my life. I thought the Roof was going to fall. There was a pin drop silence and no Igbo dared interrupt Uncle Bola Ige because he was telling the truth. The Yoruba Leaders ended the meeting at that point and left. I hope Chief C. O. Adebayo's memoirs will give more details of those exchanges. Copied from "FRIENDS IKOYI CLUB 1938" Forum posted by Adenike Marinho, a Medical Doctor. Courtesy: Ayoade Ojeniyi Nigeria Youth Movement |

Man pays neighbour to impregnate his wife, fights for failing to impregnate her after 75 attempts Darius Makambako, a member of the Tanzanian Police Force Traffic Division, is said to have sued his neighbor, Evans Mastano, 32, whom he hired to help his 28-year-old wife, Precious, get pregnant. It was gathered that the couple’s six-year efforts to have a child had been in vain before they turned to Evans for help. Additional reports indicate that a doctor later diagnosed Makambako as infertile. With that in mind, Evans, who was already married and blessed with two beautiful daughters and bore a striking resemblance to Makambako, was reportedly paid 2,000,000 Tanzanian shillings (N360,000) for the work, with the contract stating it will be done for three evenings a week, 10 consecutive months in 2016 Hoping that the plan was perfect due to the resemblance, the situation became unfortunate when Evans tried desperately a total of 75 different times to get his friend’s wife, Precious pregnant but failed. Their efforts reportedly intensified when Precious, a nurse at a private clinic, decided to get a three-month vacation (March-June 2016) to spend her time sleeping with her husband’s best friend and neighbor in order to see if she would take in. It became a concern after Precious went 10 months without getting pregnant. Makambako, not understanding the situation, insisted that Evans undergo a medical examination in January 2017. Here came the shock when it was discovered that Evans was also infertile. “If Evans is sterile, how is it possible for him to have two daughters?” Makambako asked. As the revelations progressed, Evans’ wife came into the scene with an admission that she already knew that Evans wasn’t the real father of her two children, but his cousin, Edward. “I was forced to secretly sleep with his first cousin for these two children, after realising that my husband could not impregnate me for two years,” Angela told the Dar-es-Salaam Today News. As a result of this revelation from Evan’s wife, Makambako who felt sad over the situation, sued Evans for breach of contract to get his money back. Meanwhile, Evans has staged a defense noting that he did not guarantee conception, but only that he would give it an honest effort. |
