Politics › Black Scorpion, Adekunle, Dies At 78 by LilNetty(op): 1:43pm On Sep 13, 2014
An active player in the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970), Brig.-Gen Benjamin Adekunle (retd.), is dead.
The war veteran, better known as Black Scorpion, died this morning at the age of 78 in Lagos, according to his wife, Folake.
Adekunle, who was compulsorily retried from the Nigerian Army in 1974, was the first to lead the 3rd Marine Commando, that eventually spearheaded the end of the three-year war in January 1970.
Olusegun Obasanjo succeeded Adekunle, arguably the most conspicuous and controversial figure during the war, in the 3rd Marine Commando .
A close friend to the deceased, who however did not want his name in print yet, also confirmed Adekunle’s death to our correspondent on Saturday.
Details later…

Health › Breaking News: OAU Female Ebola Virus Suspect Moved To Lagos by LilNetty(op): 11:20pm On Sep 09, 2014
The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have said one of its female student is suspected to be a secondary contact of Ebola.
This was contained in a statement by the Public Relations of the university, Mr. Biodun Olarewaju late on Tuesday.
He explained that the suspected student has been evacuated to Lagos for proper attention.
It said, “A female student of the OAU, Ile-Ife who is suspected to be a secondary contact of the Ebola Virus Disease in Port-Harcourt, presented sick at the University Health Centre.
“After a clinical assessment by the Ebola Surveillance Preparedness and Response Committee of the University, the authorities thereafter contacted the State Ministry of Health, the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation(WHO).
“The female suspected secondary Ebola contact has since been evacuated to the appropriate facility in Lagos for further investigations to confirm her status.”
While emphasising that the student illness was not a confirmed Ebola case, Olarewaju said appropriate preventive and protective measures have been taken.
He added, “In the meantime, the National team and the World Health Organisation team on Ebola Control have promptly decontaminated the University Health Centre despite the fact that the case is yet to be confirmed.
“The University authorities wish to emphasise the fact that the case is not a confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease and therefore request all members of the University Community to remain calm as the situation is fully under control.”

Health › Re: DIY: Home-made Hand Sanitiser; This Ebola Season! by LilNetty(m): 11:11pm On Sep 09, 2014
ulster: In this ebola season where cost of hand-sanitisers have literally trebled and the composition of these hand-sanitisers are in doubt, why not make your own home-made hand sanitizer from ingredients you select. This is an excellent project for kids, now that schools are not resuming soon and you'll save money, protect yourself from germs, and can customize the scent of the hand sanitizer, and be sure of the composition of the hand sanitisers you are using this period. It is not rocket science but simple chemistry, so lets go:?

2/3 cup 99% rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or ethanol
1/3 cup aloe vera gel
8-10 drops essential oil, optional (such as lavendar, tea-tree, vanilla, peppermint, grapefruit)
bowl and spoon
funnel
recycled liquid soap or hand sanitizer bottle

Nothing could be easier! Simply mix the ingredients together and then use the funnel to pour them into the bottle. Screw the pump back onto the bottle and you're ready to go.

Wash your hands regularly with soap, apply your home made hand-sanitiser and put your trust in Jesus and be ebola free!
God bless wink
Sounds funny thO...I wonder whyie pipo kip focusinq on Hands...Is that only the way to Contact the So-Called Ebola disease?...What about the Sweat of the body and so on...what abt the money we spend..why don't we wear hand gloves before spendinq and exchanging money...I rest my case

Romance › How I Was Raped By Soldier For 5 Hours Under A Tree — Student by LilNetty(op): 2:02pm On Sep 09, 2014
IBADAN— A 23-year-old National Diploma, ND, student of Mass Communication Department, Ibarapa Polytechnic, yesterday, narrated how she was raped under a tree by one of the security men attached toOperation Burstset up by Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State to check criminality in the state.
The incident was said to have happened in Eruwa from 10.30 pm on August 29 this year while she was returning after seeing off a friend.
She said she was raped repeatedly for five hours before she was let off the hook by the rapist soldier.
How it happened
According to her, the soldier allegedly ordered her to climb the motorcycle while threatening to stab her with a knife.
She said: “It happened on Friday, August 29, 2014. I was coming back to my room after seeing off a friend. He accused me of being a cultist for moving about around that time, but I denied it. He then ordered me to climb his motorcycle, but I pleaded with him that he should let me go.
“He removed a knife and said that he would stab me if I refused to obey him. So scared, I climbed theOkadaand he took me to theOperation Burstoffice in Eruwa.
“When we got there, he forcefully led me to a dark area under a tree and ordered me to remove my dress to enable him see if I had tattoos on my body.
“I told him I did not have tattoos and that he should let me go. He then removed the knife again and said that he would slaughter me like a ram if I failed to ‘cooperate’ and that I would be buried like many other girls who had failed to cooperate in the past, and nobody would trace my death to him.
“Sensing danger, I removed my clothes. He ordered me to lie down under the tree and had sex with me several times while I was crying.
“He raped me till 3.30 am and I complained of catching cold. He entered into the office and brought out a bottle of beer. He gave it to me to hold for him.
“Later he said he was going to bring a blanket for me to cover my body. I waited for about 30 minutes, but when he did not return, I dressed up and ran away.”
Case reported at Police station
The victim’s counsel, Mr. Adeosun, confirmed her story, saying: “In the morning of Saturday, August 30, 2014, the victim called her parents on the telephone and told them what happened. It was the parents that came to brief our office. We thereafter advised that the victim should report to the Police Station at Eruwa, which she did.”
When the matter was reported to the security outfit, the girl identified the rapist among other security operatives paraded before her.
To worsen her ordeal, the Eruwa General Hospital where she went for test did not help matter.
According to her, on arrival in the hospital, the doctor she met told her to buy hand gloves which she did.
She said:“The doctor told me to lie down and use his phone torchlight to examine my private part and wrote a report that although there was no trace of semen, the private part had been tampered with.”
It was gathered that the doctor claimed he could not carry out test on the inner part of the vagina because the hospital did not have the facilities to carry out such test.
The victim’s lawyer said a soldier called him at 8.25 pm on Sunday informing him that the Army had commenced court martial trial on the indicted soldier, but that the student must appear to testify.
Suspect recommended for disciplinary measure
Responding, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo, quoted the security outfit as saying it had recommended the suspect for disciplinary measure for abandoning his duty post.
In a statement issued by the outfit’s Second in Command, CSP Elijah Bawa, “immediately the outfit was informed of the allegation of rape against the said soldier, he dispatched an investigation team to Eruwa.
“The team met with the Divisional Police Officer for the Eruwa Division, DSP Kayode Adigun who disclosed that the 23-year old Mass Communication student of the school lodged a complaint with the command that she had been raped by the soldier who was also an operative of the anti-crime outfit.
“The outfit’s Second in Command and the DPO took the complainant to the Eruwa General Hospital for medical examination, the result of which they said proved negative.
“The soldier will, however, be charged for abandoning his duty post in the night without permission against standing instructions in theOperation Burst’s code of conduct,” he said.

jnrbayano: Nature-nurture controversy a psychologist would say.

Nature centred on heredity (the parents genes)

Nurture, see socialization below.

The mind of a child is "Tabula rasa" which means "blank slate" and the sociologists enthuse that socialization of a child begins:

Primarily from the family.

Secondarily; the school, the church/mosque, the community...the society at large (peer group, modelling of the elders, social media, the Entertainment world etc)

Now, Op, who is to be blamed?
the girl is to be blame...

Education › Ebola: Doctors Reject Sept 22 Schools’ Resumption Date by LilNetty(op): 7:06am On Sep 09, 2014
The   Nigerian Medical Association on Monday faulted the Federal Government’s directive to schools to resume on September 22 as against October 12.
It said through its National Secretary-General, Dr. Olawunmi Alayaki, that all schools ought to remain   shut   till all those under surveillance for the Ebola Virus Disease in the country had been certified free.
“We are not happy with this decision on the resumption of schools. Schools should be shut till the last suspected case or patient is certified free of the virus,” the NMA said.
Before the association made this known the Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson Parker, had disclosed that an 18 month-old baby had been quarantined in the state for   showing symptoms of the deadly virus.
The NMA suggested that the resumption of schools could be shifted till December or early part of next year because if Ebola should spread to any school, it would “assume another dimension.”
It said, “ We can shift the resumption date till next year or in the next three months if that is the time it will take. Government should have enough time to follow the standard procedure for containing   the virus.
“Parents have no reason to be   in a hurry because if Ebola should enter any school, it will assume another dimension. Children cannot survive isolation like adults.
“Nigeria is peculiar because of her large population and we should be pragmatic and proactive. It   will not augur well for the country if we have another outbreak due to carelessness.”
Also, the Lagos State chapter of NMA said that the Federal Government should have postponed the resumption date till the completion of surveillance and monitoring of contacts in the affected states.
It said through its chairman, Dr. Tope Ojo, that   many of the public and private schools in the country lacked basic   hygiene and sanitary facilities that could help prevent the spread of the EVD by pupils.
It stated, “It would not have cost the Federal Government anything to have waited till those under surveillance have completed the 21 days in all the states where they are being monitored.
“The government knows that it takes a longer time for children to get used to the idea of hygiene and sanitation. They are even more vulnerable because they would play with each other whether they are sick or not.
“How many children know that they should use hand sanitisers or avoid contact with anybody that has fever?
“Waiting till October when at least the situations in Rivers and Lagos states would have been conclusively managed is another safety measure the government should have taken . These kids are not studying to get a degree, so we are sure it would not have affected schools’ curricula.”
Also the immediate president of the NMA, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, expressed concern about the September 22 resumption date, wondered about the safety parameters government used in fixing the date.
Enabulele said that   the grouse of many parents with the   resumption date stemmed from the fact that they were not convinced that schools had met the safety standards for the prevention of Ebola.
He added that if the government was bent on schools adhering to the date, it should begin now to check the sanitary facilities put in place by their proprietors to ensure the safety of pupils.
Enabulele said, “We must know the parameters that the Federal Government used to arrive at the resumption date in the first place. Has the Federal Government carried out a safety assessment in registered schools in the country? There should be a checklist and only those who meet it should be certified fit to reopen.
“The minimum standard is that all schools should have a dispensary, a sick bay where sick children, especially those with fever, are properly managed and tested.”
Saying that he knew that such facilities were not available in many schools, he asked: So, why the rush for their resumption?”
Also, a consultant paediatrician with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi- Araba, Prof. Edamisan Temiye, called on the three tiers of government to ensure that schools  had access to water on their premises.
The former Lagos NMA chairman, also warned parents not to force sick children to go to school as this could expose them to infections.
Temiye said, “Governments must ensure that clean water   flows on schools’ premises so that children can wash their hands regularly. Water is important for sanitation and it is the duty of government to ensure that citizens have access to it.
“Also, parents should take sick children to hospital. Don’t give them drugs and force them to go to school. Ebola can only be caught from a sick person. School authorities should watch out for   and isolate sick children   from others.
“Again school owners should give hand sanitisers to their pupils before allowing them into their premises. They should also have thermal thermometers to check the temperatures of their pupils before allowing them into their school premises.”
The Minister of Health had before the doctors spoke with one of our correspondents in Lagos, said that there was nothing to fear over the directive to schools to resume on September 22.
Chukwu, who gave an update of EVD in Nigeria, said, “We have contained the situation. Ebola is no longer in the streets anywhere in Nigeria.
“We are working with the Federal Ministry of Education and we made it clear that in institutions having students returning from outside Nigeria, they should let us know.
“We will work with them and we have questionnaires which we are already using on airlines and ships coming into Nigeria as well as other means of transport. They will fill questionnaires. We will ask questions and conduct tests to see that they don’t have fever.”
The minister also revealed that a fiancé of one of Patrick Sawyer’s contacts who was confirmed positive for EVD had since recovered.
He added, “So far, all the cases that have been confirmed in Nigeria are traceable to the index case (Sawyer). As of this (Monday) morning, the total number of confirmed cases of EVD in Nigeria is 19.   Fifteen were   in Lagos and four   in Port Harcourt.
“The 19th case is the fiancé of one of the primary contacts of Mr. Sawyer who died of the disease. The test results were equivocal but further tests established the disease. He had only mild symptoms and he has since recovered from the illness. He was quarantined but because of the equivocal test result he was not placed on active treatment.
“The total number of deaths from EVD in Nigeria stands at seven . Five   of them died in Lagos, one in a private hospital, the index case,   and the other four   in the isolation ward in Lagos State.
“Two of the seven died in Port Harcourt, the medical doctor who died in a private hospital and the contact, a patient in the hospital at the time the doctor was also on admission, who died in the isolation ward in Rivers State.”
According to him, the total number of patients who have been successfully managed and discharged stands at nine.
He added that the latest was the sister (Chinyere) of the late Port Harcourt doctor who was discharged from the isolation ward in Rivers State on Sunday.
“It should be noted that the nine   patients successfully managed and discharged are among the total number of 11 survivors of EVD in Nigeria. At the moment, only one person, the wife of the late Port Harcourt doctor, is on treatment at the isolation ward in Lagos.
“She no longer has any symptoms and is undergoing a series of tests preparatory to her discharge from the isolation ward this week.
“Regarding contacts currently under surveillance, Lagos has 27 contacts surveillance as of now. A total of 339 contacts who were previously on surveillance have been discharged having completed the 21 days of observation. Port Harcourt has 477 contacts under surveillance. It is a mixed group consisting of tertiary and quaternary contacts of   Sawyer. Five contacts have already been discharged from surveillance in Port Harcourt having completed the 21 days of observation.”
In Port Harcourt, the Health commissioner, Parker, also confirmed that Chinyere had been discharged. But as journalists expressed joy over Chinyere’s recovery, he announced that an 18 month-old baby, who showed symptoms of Ebola had been quarantined for observation.
The commissioner however did not provide further information as he returned to Chinyere’s recovery and discharge.
“I am cheerful today because we have successfully treated an Ebola patient. She (Chinyere) has been effectively treated, cleared and discharged from our isolation treatment centre. She deserves to be celebrated as a success story,” he said.
Parker, who explained that   the state government had reached about 479 contacts, said, “I can assure you that the disease has been covered. People should not cause panic. The number of deaths from Ebola is lower than deaths from road accidents.”

Education › JAMB Begins Sale Of UTME Forms by LilNetty(op): 5:04pm On Sep 08, 2014
JointAdmission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said its application forms for the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, is now available nationwide for prospective candidates, reaffirming that the examination will be on Computer-Based Test (mode) only.
This was disclosed recently when Nigerian Pilot called on the Spokesperson of the Board, Mr. Fabian Benjamin. He said the registration period will last between Monday September 15, 2014 and Thursday January 15, 2015, while the website closes Monday January 19, 2015.
Mr. Benjamin stated that in addition to the registration fee, candidates will be expected to pay additional N500 for a copy of a newly introduced textbook, ‘The Last Days at Forcados High School’, adding that the Board has made arrangement to provide the book to avoid the challenge of availability and piracy and that the textbooks will be issued at the point of registration.
According to the JAMB Spokesman, the Board has also introduced a regulated registration format where only our Computer-Based Test, CBT, centers and state offices nationwide are authorised to register candidates.
“The idea of a regulated registration centre is to prevent situations where candidates are exploited and to check impersonation, including other acts of malpractices”, he said

Romance › (He Needs Your Advice)His Wife Is Cheating On Me With A Romance-Machine! by LilNetty(op): 5:52am On Sep 08, 2014
My first contact with this guy whom I will call worried guy for the purpose of this article was through another e-mail address. He’d asked if I could spare a few minutes to discuss a very personal issue with him on a given phone number which I’d obliged.
We have been talking ever since and the thrust of our discussion is what I have reproduced below as he has requested. Worried guy is a 32 year old hard working and very focussed banker, while his wife whom he met at the university works as a teacher in a private Secondary school.
They are both Christians and have been married for close to three years, but he would rather not take his problems to the church for personal reasons. He is counting on you and I to work things out. Please, let do this together!
Dear Yetunde,
I have a very serious problem which has started affecting me psychologically and even my performance at my job.
I have tried to work things out with my wife but it has not yielded any positive result as I am not convinced about the situation. I feel too ashamed to discuss the problem with my pastor and even worse with my mother because I know that will only escalate things. Trust me, I know my mother and mothers generally. As for my friends, I am afraid they might turn around to use it against us and make me the butt of their jokes
My problem started last December, over the festive period to be precise. I caught my wife on our matrimonial bed having sex with a vibrator. I almost collapsed because I was shocked beyond what words can describe. I found myself shaking from head to toe, unable to even say anything. I felt so disgusted and sick that I had to rush to the bathroom to splash water over my face to avoid vomiting.
She must have been so engrossed in what she was doing that she did not even know when I entered our apartment and walked into the room to find her in that position. It was my movement that brought her back to reality.
What I found most disturbing at that moment was why she could not wait for me if she was so in need of sex, since I’d called her earlier on that I was on my way home. And though she got up immediately and started pleading with me that it was the devil, I did not bring myself to talk to her until very early in the morning of the next day.
She told me a friend in her office had given it to her to try out and it was her first time of using it. And that she would have told me about it but wanted to try it out first. She mentioned somebody’s name which she said I have never met and pleaded that she would return it and never use it again. She managed to convince me that it was an innocent one-off-thing which I did not need to bother myself about and I accepted.
But it was difficult for me to forget as I kept seeing the picture of her in that position in my head and wondering if it was right for a married, Christian woman to be doing such a thing. To me, it is something made by the Satan for his children.
Later that week, she told me she had returned it and things went back to normal between us but I was surprised to find the instrument again in her underwear drawer by accident. She was not at home, so I took it out and laid it on her side of the bed. As soon as she saw it, she went on her knees again and began to beg me.
She said she did not know how to return the thing since it was a gift and would not want to upset her colleague at the office, nor embarrass herself. She insisted she was not using it and was also scouting for whom she too can give it to.
Since I did not catch her using it, I had no choice but to let it go. However, I was not comfortable and began suspecting her. I later hatched a plan to catch her and before long, it worked. What I saw that evening was worse than the previous one and still haunts me till today.
I’d never seen my wife look that way before even when we are doing it. I was transfixed that I had to hide quietly behind the door way to allow her finish before I opened the door. Immediately my wife went on her knees, begging that it was the devil again.
I refused to talk to her and walked out of the apartment. I just walked round and round the neighbourhood because I felt lost and didn’t know where to go or who to talk to. I felt thoroughly betrayed. I had never looked at another woman in my life, before and even after I met her. I’d never looked at porn magazines or movie, not to talk of having a girlfriend, and worse still, owning a intimacy gadget.
I could only manage to keep my anger for two days as she kept crying and asking for forgiveness, promising never to use it again. I could not bear to see her that way too, so, I insisted she had to tell me the truth.
She then told me that since the matter was no longer a secret, it was better she confessed everything to me. She said the vibrator was hers and she had been using it even before she became a born again Christian, as she was introduced to it while in Secondary school. (A girls only school) I don’t understand the logic, but she said it was a way to show that they did not need male company? Were they Lesbians?
She insisted they were not. When she became “born again” in the university, she stopped, she said. This was where we met and started first as friends, then I got the message that she was my wife and we eventually got married two years after our service year. She said she was forced to go and buy another vibrator after a discussion with some ladies in her office about how much they enjoyed their sex life and she missed the fun she used to have. She also told me that she does not get satisfaction from what we do together but did not want to hurt my feelings by telling me and begged me to allow her to continue using the thing and that it will not affect what we have together, after all, I never would have guessed it, if I had not caught her using it.
My problem now is that, though I have not caught her again in almost two months, I am still not happy because I know she is doing it and its disgusting to me. Though she says it will not affect us, it is already affecting me because anytime I want to have sex with her, that picture comes to my mind and spoils my mood. I will have to just force myself because I have nowhere else to relieve myself.
My work schedule is very tight as I work in the bank and have to leave home very early in the morning and most times, don’t return home until around 10pm or even later. I am also taking some professional courses, so, that also takes away most of my weekends. But my wife is a teacher, so she has more than enough time on her hands to do all she wants before I return.
Before you ask what I have done to make our love life better, I have tried to do everything she tells me, and though she says she is now enjoying it, I am not convinced. I do not see that look on her face. And it is making me feel inadequate as a husband. We have been married for three years and we are yet to conceive a child and I sometimes wonder if this is her priority. I know what I am facing with my mother and family on that issue alone, not to now add this one to it.
Have I not bitten more than I can chew with this girl? My wife is unfaithful to me and I am powerless to do anything about it. Please Aunty Yetunde, help me. I want Nigerians to advise me on what next to do. I don’t want anyone to know my identity please.
Worried guy in Lagos.
Well Nigerians, the ball is in your court. As is my style, I never assume I have the best answers to all relationship problems and this guy is sure not expecting me to provide him one.
He is asking for your opinion to enable him take his decisions concerning his situation. So, what do you think is the way out for this couple? Is worried guy just a sex novice or his wife is being too clever by half? Is she really cheating on him with this toy or helping him? There are so many other issues I noticed in this guy’s story which I am hoping you will spot out too. Please, let’s help to save this marriage.
Health › Dangerous Haurdressers\barbers And The Dandruff Scam by LilNetty(op): 5:33am On Sep 08, 2014
This brings me to another point in the hair-cutting and hairdressers industry and this relates to the dandruff scam perpetrated by hair dressers and barbers. Dandruff is not a disease but simply dry scalp. It is dry skin that flakes off the head and is not really a problem. It is also not curable, since it is not a disease in the first place!
According to Wikipedia, dandruff is a common scalp disorder affecting almost half of the population at the post-pubertal age and of any gender and ethnicity. It often causes itching. The severity of dandruff may fluctuate with season, as it often worsens in dry weather.
Those affected by dandruff find that it can cause social or self esteem problems, indicating treatment for both psychological and physiological reasons. Most cases of dandruff can be easily treated with specialised shampoos. There is, however, no true cure.
No cure for dandruff
This is the basis of the scam! When barbers and hair dressers say that you have dandruff and ask if they could treat it for you, they make it sound as if they can make it go away. Or that the exorbitant price you pay to have your hair washed with shampoo and creamed is justified. As if once they have done the treatment, it won’t reappear the very next day!
Dry scalp, like dry in other part of the body, is part of life and happens to a lot of people. People who use soap a lot and especially in the hot weather we have in Nigeria suffer from dandruff and dry skin. Those who suffer from eczema and allergies perhaps suffer the more. It is no reason to spend your hard earned money on the scam perpetuated by big business selling shampoos, lotions and potions purported to cure dandruff.
You may have seen the image of that gorgeous woman on the billboards all over the country selling shampoo for dandruff. No matter how pretty you think she is, remember what she is selling is not a cure for dandruff and all part of the scam. Shampoos, soaps, creams and moisturisers are temporary treatment and not cure for dandruff. It is part of your make-up and not a condition to worry about at all.
Finally, please be careful at the barber’s shop and even at hairdresser’s. People have been maimed and injured in these places mostly by this trial-and-error behaviour and hairdressers & barbers especially doing things they feel add quality to the service but which may be fairly harmful.
Burns, allergic reactions, cuts, rash and transmission of deadly infections are all possible at the hairdresser’s. Be careful.
NB: Please share your bad or good experiences at the barbers and saloon with me.

Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri who was initially disqualified by a screening committee has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the October 11 governorship by-election.

Adamawa: Fintiri, Marwa in tight race for PDP ticket
By Hassan Umar
AS the Peoples Democratic Party commenced its primaries to pick a candidate for the forthcoming Adamawa State governorship by election, indications have emerged that either the acting Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri; or a former Military Administrator of Lagos State, Gen. Buba Marwa, may win the contest.
The two aspirants appeared most popular out of the six aspirants left in the contest.
In addition to Marwa and Fintiri, the other four are Ahmed Gulak, Umar Ardo, Jerry Kumdisu and Ahmed Modibbo. The number reduced to six out of the original 14 aspirants.
A former Director General, National Boundary Commission, Alh. Dahiru Bobbo withdrew from the race for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress citing family pressure.
Bobbo announced his decision at a press conference held in Yola Saturday, he said “My decision to withdraw from the race is purely for family reasons.” He called on his supporters “to remain calm as his decision is unavoidably.”
Bobbo also said that it was unthinkable for him to remain in the race knowing that the supremacy of internal democracy has since been compromised.
Others withdrew to enable them to contest the 2015 governorship election in the state as stipulated by the party.
Meanwhile, one of the aspirants, Dr. Umar Ardo, complained on Saturday about the manner the contest was being organised.
Ardo, who accused the national delegation conducting the election of incompetence, said he had “never experienced such manner of conducting polls.”
He told the delegation at the venue of the exercise, “You are abusing the sanctity of the open ballot box election.”
Also complaining about the exercise, the former Special Adviser on Political Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Ahmed Gulak, criticised the delegation for allegedly handling the election in “a shoddy manner.”
“The way this election is being conducting is totally strange in the history of our party,” Gulak said.
Reacting to the allegation, the team leader, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, said the election would continue as stipulated by the national headquarters of the party.
Addressing the stakeholders before the commencement of the election, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, said the delegation was in the state to carry out one of the party’s fundamental assignments.
Bankole assured the aspirants and members of the party of free and fair election in the interest of the ruling party.
“We were delegated from the party national headquaters to come to Adamawa and conduct gubernatorial primary election of our great party PDP.
“I want to use this opportunity to give assurance to all our party members and those that are contesting, that we are going to conduct this election without fear or favour,” he said.
He urged all stakeholders to give the team maximum support and cooperation to enable it to conduct credible election.

Politics › Guests Shun Jonathan’s Book Launch In Abuja by LilNetty(op): 8:44pm On Sep 06, 2014
ABUJA – ALL prominent Nigerians invited Wedneday to the public presentation and launch of a book meant to promote President Goodluck Jonathan’s achievements in office shunned the event which held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, leaving the organizers confused.
President Jonathan, himself who was expected at the launch of the resource book that contains what the author called “proper and effective assessment” of his administration stayed away without sending any representative just as serving governors, ministers, senators, House of Assembly members as well as other prominent Nigerians shunned the occasion.
When the organizers, who had earlier arrived the venue in readiness of the event stayed for several hours without noticing the presence of any of the invitees, they without hesitation left.
The book entitled: “President Goodluck Jonathan: His Speeches and Heroic Deeds”, according to the author, Tana Ejenavwo, documented selected speeches of the president which he noted, were indeed reflective of his deep philosophical thoughts on issues of governance, progress and unity of Nigeria.
“It also provides authentic and verifiable information for sectoral growth assessment, as encapsulated in the Transformation Agenda of the administration,” he added.
The book, according to the chairman of the book launch organizing committee, Ahmed Danjuma Abubakar, unveiled the methodological disposition of President Jonathan in handling national issues in what he called “uncommon civility, instead of belligerent approaches that brutalizes our national psych.”
He said the book also ‘divulges the prudency in the management of resources and accountability in allocations for infrastructural projects, as well as issues on how to balance Nigeria’s internal social and political conditions.
When asked to comment on the development, the author, Mr Tanu Ejenavwo refused to comment.

Politics › Our Children Rape Us, Imo Christian Mothers Cry Out by LilNetty(op): 5:00pm On Sep 06, 2014
Owerri—Christ mothers from Mgbishii, a sleepy rural community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area in Imo State, have cried out to the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Dr. Anthony Obinna, over alleged attrocities being committed by their sons and daughers in the area.
The women visited Archbishop Obinna at the Maria Assumpta Catholic Cathedral, Owerri, where they complained that they were being raped by their own sons on daily basis.
“We are raped and molested by our own children. You cannot come to Mgbuishii and return home safely because of the crime,” the women told Archbishop Obinna.
They further said that they had complained to both the state government and other law enforcement agents but regretted that they were yet to find solutions to the atrocities committed by their children.
They said: “We are angry because government is not looking at our direction at all. We have been completely abandoned for years.
Now, we have no good roads, no electricity, no market and nothing is going on in our place. To make things worse, we are now suffering from insecurity.”
Continuing, the aggrieved women also revealed that their sons take over the roads leading to their community on each of their market days and rob people, adding that this explained why people had stopped coming to buy farm produce from their market.
No Police presence
While lamenting that there is no police presence in the community, the spokes-woman, however, expressed shock that when they report anything to the police, they ultimately found themselves in more trouble as they ended up being molested the more.
“Also, each time we report cases to the police and they manage to send their men at all, the criminals beat them (policemen) up because they (criminals) parade more sophisticated weapons than what the policemen have. We needed police escort to get here (Maria Assumpta Cathedral) and we will also need them to go back home,” the women said.
On lack of social amenities in the area, the spokeswoman said the community had no roads, primary or secondary schools as well as health facilities, adding that they had been completely abandoned by the various tiers of government, even as they pointed out to the Archbishop that most of them were already planning to relocate to safer communities in Rivers State.
“Even the Reverend Father in our place is complaining and threatening to go away. About two weeks ago, some reverend sisters visited our place and were waylaid on the road and robbed. We have a lot of problems and that is why the women have come to complain to the Archbishop, who is our father in the Lord”, the women added.
Responding, Obinna commi-serated with the women over their plight and pleaded with them not to take laws into their hands.
While stressing the need for proper upbringing of children by parents in the fear of the Lord, the cleric, however, recalled some bizarre things that are now happening in the society. He prayed and blessed the women for being courageous enough to bring the sordid happenings to limelight.

Romance › Re: What Will You Do If Your Spouse Reports You To Your Boss? by LilNetty(op): 1:54pm On Sep 06, 2014
Elantracey: and it also depends on the gender of my boss and the relationship between them .
Which mature man will report his wife to her boss? It is only a childish man that will do that. No matter how troublesome a woman is; it is how a man still finds his way around it that shows that he knew what he was doing before marrying the woman. As for me, I may not be able to entrust some personal matters into the hand of such a man again because I know he will not handle them properly. A man’s intelligence is not determined by what he possesses but by how he handles situations and his domestic affairs.
Home and office lives should be separated

Marriage is for better, for worse and expectedly, it is not always rosy. Marriage comes with its challenges, misunderstandings and disagreements between the spouses. And when such disagreements do come, who do you run to for advice? Would you settle between yourselves or would you take it to a third party, especially your spouse’s boss? What would you do if your spouse reports you to your boss?
I will scold him for being childish

Christianity Etc › New Generation Pastors: Why Do Pastors Publicize And Advertise Miracles? by LilNetty(op): 2:48pm On Aug 26, 2014
Well a question posed by some reader from the net, find it strange that pastors are now publicizing their miracles, is it biblical?
Quote
I have gone through some of the synoptic Gospels and found out that each time Jesus performs a miracle of healing, He charges the person not to tell anyone. I searched hard to find if there is any where Jesus advertised His miracles but did not find. So is it right to advertise miracles as we see it today?
