I, for instance, believe nothing when it comes to Gods, but if you slap my right cheek and I turn my left cheek and you slap, you'd likely not go past 7 times before you find you can't lift your hand to slap again, and I sure will be occupying space in your head for days, if not months and years and for the rest of your life, because you will find it hard to stop thinking of the me you slapped 7 times.

Interesting conversation going on here. From all that's been said, something jumps at me:

Former atheists, like Buda and Kobo, who are now "christians" seem to have a different, somewhat philosophical interpretation of the scriptures from "mainstream" christians, like Shade.

The majority of christians, including members of JW like Max, would find the position of Shade and Max agreeable- No "true christian"( whatever that means) would marry an atheist. I might be wrong but it takes a christian who has passed through the eye of athiesm or at least agnosicm to even entertain the thought.

So my quandary remains why is former athiests idea of christianity different from other christians?

Those former atheists now christians are true believers because they've taken time to study the word of God and also been touched by the Holy Spirit they dropped their atheism and believes unlike we normal christians who just go to church and agree with anything the pastor says..

How do I explain the "concept of global vaccination" in a way you would easily understand? I'll try to.

Now under medicines, we have drugs and vaccines. They are both different even though they belong under medicines.

Let's start with drugs e.g antibiotics. This class of drugs were invented more than a century ago with the "penicillins". The interesting thing about DRUGS is that the drugs use to treat a certain infection a 100 years ago for example pneumonia is not the SAME DRUG used to treat pneumonia TODAY and guess what in the FUTURE the drugs we are using to treat pneumonia today wont be the same DRUGS we will use in like the year 2050. That's cause of 2 key factors.

One is microorganism can MUTATE on their OWN or through DRUG RESISTANCE and form a more powerful microorganism that wont be affected by that old drug, so a new drug has to be made to STOP the new more powerful strain. Two, So the THING with Drugs is that IT CAN BE USED TO TREAT a disease in a population BUT THAT DISEASE WILL NEVER EVER GO AWAY FROM THAT POPULATION, RATHER IT WILL GO AND COME BACK BUT EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE.

Bearing this in mind VACCINES WERE MADE. THEY WERE MADE TO DO EXACTLY THAT WHICH DRUGS CANNOT DO- that is COMPLETELY ERADICATE A PARTICULAR DISEASE FROM A POPULATION COMPLETELY OR FOREVER. That way the disease doesn't reoccur in the future because it was killed once for all time. Examples include smallpox, polio, rubella, diphtheria etc. This total and complete eradication is only possible at a POPULATION LEVEL WHEN AT LEAST 60-100% of the population has been vaccinated (including healthy people) to ACHIEVE HERD IMMUNITY.


We have vaccination programs for other disease like measles, typhoid, HPV, hepatitis etc but those disease have not be completely eradicated because the GOAL OF VACCINATION has not been to create HERD IMMUNITY by vaccinating 60-100% of the population but rather to ONLY VACCINATE high risk individuals which are a few thousand or million people. If we vaccinated the whole population some of those diseases may have been gone forever by now.


For covid19, global vaccination is KEY at the moment because the virus is new and hasnt yet mutated to many different strains. This is VERY IMPORTANT because usually VACCINES are made for a certain strain of the virus or maybe for 2 or 3 strains. The longer time it takes to vaccinate people, lets say in YEARS ( LIKE 5 YEARS) you can have up to 10-20 different strains, so as such, it would be difficult to make a vaccine against all 20 strains. Infact before you are done making the vaccine which will take at least 2 years -10 years, those 20 strains would have become 80 strains, so the vaccine would be USELESS on arrival.


So for POLICY MAKERS like WHO etc, they know NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME TO VACCINATE BEFORE THE STRAINS START TO MULTIPLY AND MAKE THEIR VACCINES USELESS and when it becomes useless our ONLY CHOICE IS TO USE DRUGS, but remember what I said about drugs, they DONT COMPLETELY ERADICATE THE DISEASE FROM THE POPULATION, RATHER THEY PUSH IT BACK A LITTLE UNTIL IT MUTATES AGAIN AND BEATS THAT DRUG AND A NEW DRUG HAS TO BE FOUND TO FIGHT AGAINST THE DISEASE AGAIN.

I know its complicated, but how you understood the concept?

Now I understand..I think I will be among the 40% that won't be vaccinated for now until the vaccine is made easy and less stressful to be taken..
