End Trafficking International (ETI) a New York-based organization that works to end human trafficking has just reported the rescue of a Nigerian citizen who was lured to Libya for exploitation.

The victim (Maria), a 40-year-old Nigerian female was promised a well-paid job in Libya but unknown to her she was on her way to slavery. She arrived in Zuwarah north western city in Libya on December 9, 2019, and was sold multiple times by her trafficker to pay her unending debt. The victim was subjected to all forms of torture, inhuman and degrading treatment from her trafficker to ensure compliance. As typical with traffickers, the victim’s international passport and other personal items including hair and nails were seized by her trafficker for voodoo purposes. End Trafficking International (ETI) with the help of Nigerian embassy staff, John Olowo ensured the safe return of the victim this week back to her 3 children. The victim was offered a safe space to stay and a free flight ticket.

Generally, in human trafficking, the victims are usually transferred to a location where their services are needed. This is often a place where they lack language skills or other basic knowledge that would allow them to seek help. For Maria, it was just supposed to be a job to make money from, but it quickly turned into a lot more than she ever expected. The horrendous story of Maria is a traditional and most commonly used medium of human trafficking, called the "BONDED LABOUR."

Bonded labor, also known as debt bondage occurs when a person takes a loan for security purposes or inherits a relative's debt. It might look like an arrangement on jobs, but one where the employee starts paying debt– usually in brutal situations, only to find that their payment of the loan is impossible. They are then forever enslaved. Labour trafficking is targeted at manipulating employees. The process of cycling starts with a debt that cannot be paid immediately, whether acquired or inherited. The employer then proceeds to add new costs as the employee is working to pay off the debts.

The international Palermo Protocol requires the criminalization of bonded labor as a form of trafficking. Still, this particular system of slavery is deeply entrenched around the world. This is another cry out call to individuals, private and governmental institutions to stand up and join the fight against Human Trafficking. Kudos to End Trafficking International (ETI). Today, Maria is back home with her family after several years of forced labour (bondage debt) in a foreign country.

According to the founder of the organization Joy Agbeyegbe Ochuko, poverty has been a push factor of migration and human trafficking. The economic situation in most African countries has left its youths with no other option than to seek the next way out even if it means losing their lives. She (the founder) further encouraged those seeking greener pastures outside their countries to look before they leap.

The organization expressed her gratitude to the Nigerian embassy in Libya and its kind-hearted staff John Olowo for providing the victim with a safe place and an emergency travel document.

At least 11 people were laid to rest on Sunday in the outcome of Friday’ s altercation between Hausa traders and Yoruba at Shasa Market in Akinyele Local Government Area, Oyo State.

Also, up to 5, 000 Hausa dealers, women and children ousted by the violence were still taking refuge at the dwelling of the Sarkin Shasa, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin, and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture IITA, in Ibadan.

The Sarkin Sasa, who talked with Daily Trust, said 11 casualties were prepared for burial in his compound. A source in the Hausa community asserted 20 killed persons were buried at the Akinyele Graveyard in the state.

The burnt remains of 8 other people murdered during the crisis were still at the police station in the Shasha area, as of yesterday sunset.

A teenage armed robber identified as Monday Omoruyi has made shocking revelations after he was apprehended by local vigilantes over alleged phone theft.

These revelations were made by the Edo-born armed robber while narrating how he was apprehended by local vigilantes.

According to the teenage armed robber, it all started at a barber’s shop when someone came to charge his phone and asked them to look after the phone.

But the phone including some cash was stolen by another person (undisclosed). The people called local vigilantes to arrest me and declared that until they find the guy, I will not be released, he disclosed.

Monday further revealed that his brother is in possession of two police guns and he collected these guns from Aba market police station.

He also disclosed that the small pistol his brother uses to teach him how to shoot is also with his brother.

When asked how many robbery operations has he attended, he replied that he has attended four operations.

When asked if he has killed people, he responded positively and clearly stated that he has killed two people but he does not know their names.

In a viral video that was shared online, a group of young men who are suspected to be “Yahoo boys” stopped their cars to cause traffic as they were spraying money in the air in Benin.

In the video, Some people refused to pick it up as they said the young men are Yahoo boys and they are doing that to take people’s destiny.

Others who don’t care went about picking the money which was all in N1,000 mint note.

Yahoo boys in Nigeria are known to be diabolic in nature and do all manner of things to get wealth.

Some of them eat raw chicken as can be seen in a recent post we did, while others eat dried human feces with bread just to meet up with the rituals involves in their trade.

A notorious bank Robber by the name John Godwin has reportedly blamed his arrest by the police on his failure to read the Bible before going out on his last operation.

According to Godwin, he was prophesied to be a pastor but got arrested by the police after a recent heist. He blames his fate on a failure to read Psalm 121 in the Bible which he reads on daily basis and each time he goes out to rob, he always comes back successfully.

He is one man that believes so much in God but still carry guns outside to search for his means of living.

Mr Godwin who is 30 years old believes God wanted him to be apprehended to put an end to a life of crime because he was supposed to be pastor not an arm Robber

According to series of reports he was caught with four other suspects of mixed nationality and arrested after being accused of snatching vehicles in Nigeria and delivering them for an exchange in the Benin Republic.

The notorious bank robber said that there’s no day he stepped out to rob without reading the Bible because that was his Covenant with God.

Mr. Godwin after his arrest said he has robbed in so many banks without being caught or shot to death because he believes so much in God that’s why he was not caught

He told the police that all through his time in Robbery he has never killed anybody because he knew that killing was a sin before God.

According to the police, Godwin has been on the police wanted list for a long time.

The police public relations officer said Godwin will be charged to court not minding his plead bargain.

The suspect who was arrested with his boys said he is ready to plead guilty to all his crimes so that he will be forgiven by God.

There was a drama in the Nigerian church in Port Harcourt as church members, and the wedding guests slammed a pastor for refusing to hold a wedding ceremony because the couple arrived five minutes late.

While the pair and their family members apologised and begged, the pastor still went to his office and refuse to join them despite the beggings.

He left the couple waiting for an hour and reportedly said he would wed them inside his office at his own leisure, not as expected in the church.

It was said the ugly incident happened at Fulfilling Word Foundation Church- Nigeria.

Life is not balanced at all, and it's not everyone who laughs, dine, or even lives with you wish the best for you, just as in this case of the housemaid busted recently in a very bad act.

A Business Woman whose name is yet to be identified hired a Housemaid to help prepare food in the house and also do the house chores.

According to reports, the same housemaid has been working for her Madam for like 2years now.

It’s very unfortunate she has left tongues wagging after she was busted doing the unthinkable.

The ‘Trusted” housemaid was caught by her Madam after she attempted to prepare food using her urine.

The guilty housemaid can be seen dumb a clear indication that she actually did the crime on purpose.

In Imo State, the Southern part of Nigeria, a twin was mobbed by neighbours for putting rat poison for his brother with the intention to use him for money ritual after he dies.

According to reports, the desperate twin on that fateful day bought rat poison and put it in his brother’s food. As the brother was about to eat the food, he suspected foul play and asked why his food was looking very blackish.

After many interrogations and quarrel the victim was said to have alerted the attention of other neighbours who came out to questions his brother who later confessed to the crime.

He was then taken outside for the public to see, plantain leaves were tied across his body as he was forced to eat the food and die.

It took the crying and begging of other people including the victims to save his life. His brother “the victim” can be seen pleading and crying in the video while begging the neighbour to spare his life despite what he did. Now that’s a golden heart.

After the wicked twin ate the food, he was later given palm oil as can be seen in the video to neutralize the poisonous food he ate. His own poison.

Furthermore, I learned that they were not just twins but triplets and the third born among them was a girl.

A renowned NGO DEBRICHE HEALTH DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (DHDC) based in Nigeria has concluded it’s 2020 induction ceremony for new volunteers across Nigeria.

The ceremony which was held virtually via ZOOM had in attendance, officials of the NGO as well as inductees (Volunteers) from various parts of Nigeria.

Over the years, DHDC has organized various health-related outreaches and seminars with a particular bias on Tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.

During the induction, DHDC provided inductees with in-depth information on its vision and mission and also it’s ongoing Challenge Facility for Civil society project of the Stop TB Partnership Geneva. “TB stigma assessment in Lagos slums” which is currently being implemented in partnership with the Roland Igbinoba Foundation for Housing and Urban Development (RIRFHUD). The intervention package of this project is to create awareness on the impact of TB stigma on TB response and support the effort of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme in achieving human rights and gender-related commitments of the United Nations High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) on TB Targets.

Volunteers were also informed of the role that they could play within the project in terms of dissemination of the findings from the research and awareness creation on prevention diagnosis and treatment of Tuberculosis.

Furthermore, volunteers capacity was built around effective health advocacy and awareness creation in line with DHDC’s strategic plan as a contribution to existing efforts in changing poor health outcomes through leveraging on the power of social media especially during this period that the world faced with the public health emergency (COVID-19 pandemic).

While sharing the news on its official social media handles, DHDC reiterated its commitment toward changing the poor health system in Nigeria.

“As part of the 2020 end of year activities of DEBRICHE HEALTH DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, DHDC held its virtual 2020 volunteer induction.

During the meeting, volunteers pledged their commitments towards DHDC’s vision which marks a revamped energy and motivation towards changing poor health outcomes in Nigeria and across Africa. RCCG youth Pastor sentenced to death for stabbing wife to death, the complete story.

A youth Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Akolade Arowolo, has been sentenced to die by hanging for the murder of his banker wife, Titilayo.

Pastor Arowolo could not hold back his pains after the court ruling, he burst into a fit of prayer. Titilayo worked with Skye bank, whilst her husband was a youth Pastor. Prosecutors were able to present compelling evidence that led to the conviction of Mr Arowolo and his sentencing by Justice Lateefat Okunu of the Ikeja High Court, he was handed a death sentence. Justice Okunu held in her over three hours judgment that evidence before the court proved that Arowolo actually murdered his wife in their matrimonial home.

Testimony in the form of a forensic report from Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa, a pathologist, was what the court used to determine that there was no way the deceased could have stabbed herself to death. Immediately after the judgement, Arowolo fell down in the dock and started shouting “Jesus have mercy.” Prof Obafunwa testified that his autopsy report revealed that Titilayo was killed through 76 knife stab wounds.

Three brides in Uganda revealed that they are happy with their husband’s decision to marry them all at once.

50-year-old Mohammed Ssemanda of Entebbe said that he married all the women at the same time because he simply could not afford three separate wedding ceremonies.

A large crowd gathered to be part of the record-breaking ceremony.

Officials confirmed that this was the first time that a triple wedding took place in the country. The smiling brides were identified as 48-year-old Salmat Naluwugge, 27-year-old Jameo Nakayiza, and 24-year-old Mastulah Namwanje. Namwanje and Nakayiza are sisters.

The brides revealed that they are not jealous of one another and live in peace.

Ssemanda told those who joined the marriage ceremony that although he is not a wealthy man, he did purchase a separate home for each of the women.

The brides were overjoyed by the triple wedding ceremony, saying that this was a sign their new husband will never pick a favorite wife.

The Pastor was captured in a video with a female church member on her knees while he experiments to his Church members the best way to give doggy style while they watch.

As he demonstrates, he was equally giving a documentary on how to hold the woman and how the man should move his waist.

For such an unholy act to go on right inside a Church has scared some Christians on social media who heavily condemned the act.

An unknown girl allegedly runs mad and start drying up after she was dropped off by some guys.

According online reports, the said girl was dropped in front of Ahah market in Lagos by the guys. She waved at them as they drove off then later while walking along the market, she started acting strange and drying up till she becomes thin like a skeleton.

Though this looks unusual, but some Nigerians who reacted to the sad incident say it’s the work of yahoo boys.

The social media is buzzling over the recent pictures trending. A Kenya University graduate of (Makerere University) shared a picture of one of her lecturer giving her “mouthaction” in his office. She shared the photos on Facebook and people have been venting their opinion since then.

The beautiful lady is a graduate student of Makerere University and her Facebook name is Njoro Racheal. According to report, the lecturer forced himself on her when she came for her transcript clearance. Reports also suggest that after the photo went viral on social media, the school have decided to sanction the lecturer.

The Makerere lecturer Kisuze Edward has been suspended for sexual assault.
