TheGoodJoe: Can you explain how to that Nonsense Goal Keeper, Emeka Okafor got picked ahead of Ajiboye?
If Manu Garba handled that team, most of thr boys from that U17 winning team woukd have made it to the U20 World Cup. He wasn't nonsense... They were about the best at that time... Hw many goals did he concede Most of the boys did make it... For others their careers were dead already by the time of the WYC... Eg Sheriff Isa, Akinsola, Oseni et al... Others like nwakwo obiorra, Ambrose, haruna, sone aluko, odion ighalo, Osanga king, rabiu ibrahim where the best of that time and he invited them all |

TheGoodJoe: Was it Laddan who left Ajiboye on the bench for that nonsense Emeka Okafor?
Was it Laddan who dropped Ibrahim Rabiu on the bench at the World Cup. Ganiyu Useni was one of the best players of the team. Siasia did not invite him. Ganiyu oseni was an total failure at the AYC even with all the incentive CSKA gave him. He was promised a certain amount for each goal he score... Dat guy was rubbish... Laddan bosso had no choice but to relegate him to the bench....In fact at the end of the AYC CSKA fined him for an abysmal performance at the AYC... After the AYC the coaching crew was disbanded and Siasia took over barely two months to the WYC... I myself knew siasia wont do so well cos he hardly had time to prepare... infact i felt it was a trap for him... With that said, inviting ganiyu oseni who has lost it to the WYC would have been a great injustice. Odion ighalo, osanga king, sone aluko, haruna lukma et al were arguably the best nigeria had at the time an siasia invited them Prior to the WYC Rabiu Ibrahim was injured.. There were even doubts that he would make the tournament... Siasia had faith in him and took the risk of taking along an unfit and injured ibrahim though the team doctors ruled him out of all the group game... Tell me... Who does that if not a coach that has absolute confidence in a player. Rabiu had a comeo in the second group game and caused a cheap penalty with a reckless tackle. He played the full game against germany in the knockout stage and scored a goal. Na so dem come house... In retrospect.. All in all siasia did well but was unfortunate.. Simple |

TheGoodJoe: My Beef remains his destroying of Yemi Tella's boys. For instance, we had a keeper from the U17 tea Ajiboye who conceded only one goal in the competition from Toni Kroos and saved Three penalties against Spain in the finals.
He picked one Emeka Okafor who cannot Goal Keep for my streets junior boys and dropped Ajiboye.
Siasia dropped Ibrahim Rabiu on the bench. The game he started Rabiu, Rabiu scored a wonderful goal and Coach Siasia pulled Rabiu Off not long after the goal. It was clear Siasia did not want him to shine. No na.. Siasia didn't destroy that team.... Laddan Bosso did |

joseph1013: Awoniyi: I Would Love To Play With Success
https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/05/Samm_7_May_1.jpg
Ahead of their first game at the FIFA U20 World Cup against Brazil, Flying Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi says he’s relishing the prospect of partnering Isaac Success in attack.
The 17-year-old Awoniyi has been the standout striker since the creation of the present U20 team in the absence of Success, who despite not having made an impact with the Flying Eagles has played top flight football with Granada in the Spanish La Liga, a development which has led to debates over who should be the team’s main striker. But Awoniyi says it will be nice if both of them can partner up front for Nigeria.
“I would like to play with him (Success),” he told SL10ng. “He’s not a new player to me because we’ve known each other since the U17’s and I know he’s a quality striker.
]Now he plays in Spain which means he’s more experienced and mature now and that is good for us.
“But it is left for our coaches to decide what they want but it will be nice to be in the attack with him.”
Success was the main striker during the U17’s, but a hamstring injury meant Awoniyi took his place and has established himself as the team’s first choice striker ever since. @ safarigirl na so e be ooo |

gbosaa: Both play in the midfield but Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is more of a defensive midfielder while Mathew is offensive. Both scores goals..Mathew was with the under17 squad of 2013 but was ruled out of the World Cup by MRI scan. Ifeanyi Ifeanyi who plays for elkanemi warriors joined the team later and has blended well. He was the one with bandage on his head during AYC..also got a gap teeth which safari girl has failed to spot... ..
When both are playing, you will see Ifeanyi and Mathew to differentiate them.
Mathew's photo. Thanks... nice job |

gbosaa: Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is sacrifice personified. He is a very hard worker, technical, mobile, hard and he was the one with a bandaged head during the AYC.
The only fault I find with him is that sometimes he dribbles and gets carried away. Sometimes he is over confident and attempts silly things in dangerous areas, other than that, I think he combines well in the midfield with the likes of Mathew and co.
He is good in wriggling out of awkward and tight spaces and he has the vision to distribute the ball once out of that confinement. Am confused here... . Who is Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and who is Ifeanyi Mathew.. .. Differentiate please |

safarigirl: a final is not a cup. That's how we held faith with Keshi ontop AFCON trophy until he failed to qualify for the next one. Now he has come back with a ridiculous list for AFCON qualifiers
Na so Siasia for end if say e no employ Manu's Awoniyi to save the useless team he came up with by scoring 2 vital away goals for their AAG qualification.
Football is not about history, it's about the present, if someone has lost his touch, he's lost it. A man that couldn't even help Heartland FC, had a failed stint with the Senior National Team and is now bring re-deployed. Why do we keep recycling these people with their ancient philosophy? Somebody will soon bring in Obuh as U18 coach again and we'll start supporting his employment with the achievemeent of the '09 set I understand your point... Some poor decisions can suddenly inhibit a budding career... Siasia made his mistakes and I still believe he is one of the best naija still have around. .... I dont think mourinho was a failure @ real madrid.. ... E get why |

safarigirl: Siadia will be relegated to U20 or sacked totally. As far as I'm concerned, Siasia has outlived his purpose in the NT dispensation. He should be relegated to an NFF member or so. Not a coach.
Siasia and Keshi should just leave coaching NTs. They have been recycled more times than Nigerian leaders Relax.... Hw nigerians got short term memory... WYC final, Olympic final with good football.. let siasia be |

tbaba1234: Leecodeman, don't you think, Manu's talent would be wasted at senior level? At senior level, the coach invites those doing well in their clubs so either way, it will be a mix.
The problem with Keshi is that he keeps inviting Idle players. Look at Omeruo, he has depreciated a lot such that boro did not even name him on the bench yet Keshi invited him. Same with Onazi.
Where is the incentive to improve??
Manu can not just stick to his boys at senior level. He will have to invite other Nigerians doing well in Europe and those that fit his philosophy. I think it would be nice if naija has a football philosophy just as brazil has a brand (samba), spain (tiki taka). Manu garba style should be adopted at all levels. |

EagleScribes: I will rather say Manu is a more hardworking coach who works so hard to bring the best from his wards. Which other coach can do that?
Manu Garba has a brand of football and even alternative plans too. Which other Nigerian coach can do that?
Apart from being a good scout, which I feel is due to his work ideals, he's far better than others in every other aspect He has a philosophy... When you have a clear idea of how you wanna play.. Your problem is half solved... Other nigeria coaches have no philosophy or guiding principle.. They just assemble some dudes and tell them: '' dig deep '', '' fight'' etc. But when you have a philosophy, you essentially develop a benchmark in style, formation and other nitty gritty of the game. These you can tweak when necessary. |

The reality though is that a Madrid Academy team would most likely whoop a team from the Chinese league and make rubbish of such a rule. sorry for bringing this up... in a '' top league'' like laliga. |

TheGoodJoe: Definitely, Coach Manu Garba was unsung. If not, after Coach Yemi Tella passed, Coach Garbawas the best person to continue with the U17 winning team to the U20 World Cup. Unfortunately, Coach Siasia took over the team and scattered them. It wasnt siasia's doing... The team was handled by ladan bosso... That team was an abysmal failure... They came out second place @ the AYC though in my opinion they were the least impressive team out of the four semi-finalist... Siasia took over just before the world cup... and you will agree if you watched both tournaments that their performance at the WYC was way better than at the AYC... That team lacked the time to gel.... I kinda had a feeling that if they had won germany in the knockout they would have gone far... Cos they played good football against germany and only lost due to some indiscipline.. |

TheGoodJoe: It does not add up. There are many crap players playing top flight football. Does that automatically make them better than wonderful talents in reserves of top teams.
Rafa Alcantara was in the reserve of Barcelona. At that time, you will say Celta Vigo players playing top flight footy are better than him. Rafa Went to Celta Vigo and became one of their star and best players. Please, how does playing top flight means a player is better.
The Super Six Tourney shows this. The players in the home league play top flight football in the country. The Super Flying Eagles, most players are from academies taught the Top Flight players how to tap ball.
Playing top flight does not automatically means better. who said better ....guy get the phrase...at the moment Isaac is -RATED higher- on paper....Read my former post again cos your understanding of it is warped... |
